Blades face is disturbingly angry looking, but that makes it sooooooo coooooool! He looks agitated and ready to beat that disgusted look right off your face! lol

I still think both Alpha Bravo and Blades make this mold beautiful. I hope this ends up as Vortex, and I agree he needs 4 rotors in that redeco.

On another note. I'm really digging the Protectobots face sculpts. Those who have eyes and mouths look intimidating (Rook, Blades, Streetwise) and those without still look like they'll kick your tailpipe (Hot Spot, First Aid). Then Groove is just there smiling away as the rest of the team reduces you to molten sludge.

You realise that most of the G1 combiner limbs were the same in regards to having "backpacks".

Blades looks sufficiently different from Alpha Bravo, which is a plus for me.

If we start listing the transformers with "backpacks" we'll be here until THE END OF TIME.

I like Alpha Bravo's colors a bit better, but with you on Blades looking sufficiently different, and I certainly don't mind the thought of having another of this mold.

Spice isn't the issue with me.

ULTRA PRIME, Alliance Formation

Under heavy and indiscriminate assault as part of Starscream's latest betrayal, Autobot and Decepticon alike scurry for cover, or frantically search for a weapon that can damage the massive gunships bombarding the area. A group of Aerialbots, under the command of Optimus Prime, encounter a handful of stray Stunticons and, after a brief stand-off, agree to unite against their common foe. After purging all sensitive data from their memory banks, they attempt a desperate combination, and together gain the power to strike back. In this configuration, Ultra Prime sports immense firepower from a shoulder cannon augmented by Powerglide, and the swift warriors that make up his limbs allow the giant robot surprising speed and agility.

However, this colossus in not without weakness. Though Optimus Prime's influence provides some stability, being composed of mostly Aerialbots and Stunticons results in a being who struggles with both the single-mindedness of Superion and the volatility of Menasor, and has a dangerous tendency to select a single target to focus on with extreme predjudice, ignoring all other enemies until the focus of his wrath has been utterly annihilated. In addition, the aliance that holds Ultra Prime together is tenuous at best, making it very difficut for him to remained combined for any significant length of time.

Blast Off has a slightly different face plate, as does Vortex. My biggest concern is Vortex being a straight repaint of AB, but after studying his head the visor is also different, so we hopefully we'll get new heads for both figures.

I hope Vortex gets remolded with a front mounted 50 caliber gun. Like the original.

Honestly, I think the Alpha Bravo mold works best for Alpha Bravo. I'm rather annoyed by Blades, a rescue helicopter, having missiles. Are they supposed to be water missiles or something? Sure, the original figure had canons, but they were removable and you could rationalize them as extinguishers, not so probable with missiles. Would have been better if they did something like Rook and put canon's on the sides of his arms in place of the missiles. I also hate that he's almost entirely red in copter mode, I'm not sure why Hasbro started that trend with their repaints. Still better than the Evac Squad Fly-Up colors. I think this mold is going to look fine as Vortex, with or without AB's head.

On a side note: why are there so many people trying to tell us what figures we do and do not want? I'll decide what figures I like thank you very much.

Cyclonus' team should be AB, Off Road, and Rook at least along with Viper.
