Got CW Cyclonus today actually. It is technically my first Cyclonus figure. I was in a toss up between him and the Universe/Classics version. I checked it out and I switched the ventral wings around since they weren't assembled on it correctly. Overall I got to say I like it. It's definitely not bad and happy I got it.
I also realized that there's enough Autobot characters out that I wouldn't mind owning to make the chest, arms, and legs for Ultra Prime for my CW Optimus. So I'm going to get Rodimus, Wheeljack, Ironhide, Prowl, and Hound and have a go at that at some point here. Maybe after I find some way to get a hold of Devastator and UW Bruticus.

I recall this. I didn't mean that Hasbro saw that Takara was doing Computicon and said "Oh, we should make one as well." Rather, they changed their minds and made Computron, and Takara similarly said "Let's make Computicon." Honestly I think Hasbro led the way, changing the tooling of the Groove and Air Raid molds, and adding Brawl's drillbit, but Takara decided they would take it some steps further with their version, but who knows. My point was more that the combiner now known as Betatron was, for a while, all we were going to get of Computron, although the precise point when that changed was probably before or around Scattershot's unveiling when they revealed his name was Betatron because he was "a beta version" or whatever the exact phrase was.

Below at the 3:09 mark is all we will ever know about Hasbro's intention of computron. The only thing we can know for sure is that Scattershot was supposed to be just a voyager at first.

You will struggle to find each Stunticon at a good price, but the Takara version (Menasor box set) is on the cheaper side when compared to other Unite Warriors box sets.
Yup, $67,95 for Bruticus sans Shockwave. But I'm not in the US though, so I doubt that'd be feasible.
I'm currently following a CW Bruticus with Shockwave in a secondhand site that's for sale for €100,- which I could try to offer €80,- for. It doesn't have the space shuttle Blastoff which I prefer, but it does have Shockwave, and if I can get it for €80,- then I'll settle for that

I found a Grand Galvatron UW set for €85,- with shipping, so I think that's a fair deal.
Haven't seen any cheap Menasor UW box sets though. I did see a Grand Prime CW set for €120,- but that's too steep for me.

Where are you located? I already bought the G.G., but I've seen another one on sale here in the NL. Not for €85,- though.

If it was a local sale, then no need, I am from across the pond. I am sure I will find mine one day for a similar price. I am patient

So after thinking through it a few times, I'm realising the combiners I really want are Bruticus, Defensor, Victorion and Sky Reign - of which I prefer the Hasbro versions for the former two, they're going for different characters with Victorion in Takara so I still want the Hasbro version in that case; and I prefer the Takara version for Sky Reign but I won't mind either way. And if I had to choose a fifth Takara Computicon.
So I'm thinking... has anyone done a photo comparison of (Hasbro) Hot Spot, Onslaught and Pyra Magna? You could argue I'm gonna suffer mold fatigue when 3/4 of the Combiners I really want have the same torso mold but I really love my Onslaught so. In any case I kinda wanna see all three standing side by side, just to see all their differences.

Well there was this one guy, I forget his name, he has a few photo galleries somewhere.

Yup, I am a dumb.
I love this mold so much it's unreal. It's such a beautiful silhouette... I especially dig how Pyra Magna kinda pulls off a Rodimus spoiler with the Victorion feet. I think I'd keep those on her anyway; I'd get PE hands/feet for all the combiners I want. Thankfully I don't think they need any more upgrades besides hands/feet aside from maybe a couple extra weapons.

Hot Spot and Onslaught look sufficiently different to me to forgive the reuse of molds, but Victorion for me is entirely redundant. He's a 95% repaint of existing molds, with a few little things added. He even has TWO similar helicopters. He simply doesn't do it for me.
Another question: Grand Galvatron has Starscream and Thrust Deluxe figs. These are the only 2 Deluxe seekers currently. But there's also a Legend Skywarp and Thundercracker. How do they combine with the rest? Do they transform into another weapon like Shockwave or Powerglide?

Victorion is actually a she; all six of her components too - plus they have a surprising amount of parts remolded
Skywarp and Thundercracker... don't combine. Outside of a lot of fanmoding that doesn't really work. They're simply redecoes of a Legends Starscream from a previous line - you'll find a lot of that in the CW Legends, they tend to mostly be remolds or redecoes of a previous line's legend figure unless they're actual Combiner partners. Warpath, Windcharger, Huffer, Pipes, Chop Shop... I think Bombshell's the only new CW Legends mold that isn't a combiner partner. And, uh, Buzzsaw but he's meant for Titans Return.

And Bombshell does have a gun mode which can, sort of, be used by combiners. If I remember correctly, the "handle," a 5 mm post, is slightly undersized resulting in a loose connection...

Transformers Combiner Wars Computron Collection Pack Up At Wal-Mart.ca
- Motto: "A man who wants nothing is invincible."
Good morning Seibertronians of Canada! Wal-Mart.ca has just listed the Transformers Combiner Wars Computron Collection Pack, and the (technically 7) figure set is priced at $149.92 CAD. It currently is sitting at "low stock" but remember such things fluctuate. If you want to secure your Computron then click the pic below, and stay tuned to Seibertron.com: home for the best Galleries and Conversation around!

Wal-Mart.ca wrote:In the Combiner Wars, teams of Autobots and Decepticons combine to form giant super robots and battle with the fate of worlds in the balance. Computron is never wrong. Of all the Combiner robots, he is the most successful at merging the different personalities of his component bots. The Autobot processes input from each of Technobots and evaluates all possible outcomes to identify the perfect plan of attack.
Join the battle and build a Combiner super robot with this 7-in-1 Combiner Wars Computron Collection Pack. Get 6 Technobots figures that combine to form a Computron Combiner figure in this 1 set. The Voyager Class Scattershot figure forms the torso of the Computron Combiner figure; the Deluxe Class Afterbreaker, Strafe, Lightsteed, and Nosecone figures form the arms and legs; and the Legends Class Scrounge figure becomes a Combiner weapon.
The Combiner Wars universal connection system means these figures work with other Combiner Wars figures. Combine the Scattershot figure with other Deluxe Class Combiner Wars figures or combine Afterbreaker, Strafe, Lightsteed, and Nosecone figures with other Combiner Wars Voyager Class figures to build more Combiner super robot figures. (Additional figures are each sold separately.) The pack also includes 12 accessories, a Cybaxx mini-UFO figure, a Combiner Wars poster, and a collectible Computron character card.

• Figures combine to build a Computron figure

Unrelated to Victorion conversation...
I grabbed a Unite Warriors Prowl because Prowl. And of certain characters and molds, I don't mind getting another to see differences, hoping for significant differences, but not always getting them. This mold is awesome and fun, and this character is one of my favs.
Anyway, this Prowl is somewhat funny. Different enough. Interesting swaps of black and white plastics in the arms and in the neck and connectors of the car front. A few extra paint apps on UW. But UW does feel a bit too white/single colored. The waist is painted a bit better on UW, but in my opinion Hasbro's wins the overall best look. The painted rims on UW is also hard to overlook, but overall doesn't change my last opinion. Hasbro's is nicely broken up and yet cohesive color app wise. Both have the oddly colored piece of forearm plastic that sticks out I car mode making the side panel and door looks funny. Funny enough, it is the opposite colored plastic on each and neither color looks good.
So, suck it TT lovers! I'm kidding, I love TT as much as Hasbro...
And I do love that mold. Fun transformation, and the gimmick, well, if you want combiners you got it! I'll keep 'em both because 'keep calm and let Prowl handle it'....

Victorion was created in a series of polls in which the fans got to choose the faction, torso & weapon molds, limb molds, origin, color scheme, power, gender, name, personality type, and archenemy of an all new fan-built combiner.Sjeng wrote:Hot Spot and Onslaught look sufficiently different to me to forgive the reuse of molds, but Victorion for me is entirely redundant. He's a 95% repaint of existing molds, with a few little things added. He even has TWO similar helicopters. He simply doesn't do it for me.
At the time, there were only three kinds of molds for fans to choose from: Aerialbot molds, Stunticon molds, and Protectobot molds. There was no way Hasbro was going to make completely brand new molds for something so unpredictable as to be decided upon by the fans, so they instead gave fans the choice to pick which preexisting molds from the time would be used to create this new combiner. Yet, at the very least, Hasbro was willing to take whichever molds won and give them extensively retooled parts such as new headsculpts, new torsos, new forearms, new weapons, and even exclusive new combiner hands and feet.
The end result was a combiner with Protectobot torso & weapon molds, two Stunticon limb molds, and two of the same Aerialbot helicopter mold (the voting between the two jet molds and the helicopter mold skewed in favor of the helicopter twofold over the two jet molds). Because the helicopter mold won enough to garner two of itself, the two helicopter characters of the combiner were made into being twin sisters with opposite-mirrored color schemes and molding.

Computron buyers, give me your Scrounge!

I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool!
Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot)
Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron

He's like the biggest reason people are even considering this Computron instead of just getting Takara's lol
