I love the bios. Blast-Off finally makes sense, and I actually found myself enjoying his jet mode far more than his shuttle mode in context.

Also, I've found a few ways to pose Brawl to avoid the waist-issue.

That name I used was a humorus play on words. I personally think its funny that if you remove the "O" in "Slingshot" and replace it with an "I" you now have the perfect name for a brown repaint. So besides Smokescreen and Trailbreaker, are we getting any other repaints?

Smokescreen is a straight repaint, Trailbreaker has a new head and arms, Hound has a new head and paint job, and Wheeljack has remolded car and chest parts with the head and paint

Yeah all those guys are retools or repaints. If you count trail cutter, then count wheeljack and especially hound who is a repaint of Swindle. And there is also this thing coming that is all repaints (and maybe retools): http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... nus/34314/

And then there is all the G2 stuff + Victorion. So the short answer is yes, we are getting plenty of upcoming repaints and retools (granted, some are obviously warranted).

Hound and Swindle don't count because they're awesome

(and not only warranted, but we would never hear the end of it if the G2 stuff was never released; people were begging for them before the cw figs were even released...)

If you don't want to wait, get some apoxie sculpt and do it yourself! Or did someone cut off your arms? Actually, here's a better idea; I know someone who can sculpt way better than Hasbro or Takara. He'll make Groove's poopy face into something amazing. I've seen his work. He'll make you a Blast Off. He'll even paint the forehead purple for maximum cartoon-accuracy.

Because it's a representation of a colour way and the Takara Prowl is pretty darn similar to the Hasbro Prowl.

Makes sense to me that is how some consumers would treat them not everyone buys both version of a figure - heck I'm sure the G2 versions will be ignored by plenty of people too.

You didn't really need to have a picture of Quickslinger and Slingshot though to make the point I assume the picture is trying to make.

Which to me seems to be boy 2015/16 sure does have a lot of repaints.

Even more if you include Windcharger/Tailgate variations as well that is another 3 toys. also Swerve & Gears and the fair few number of Seekers of both sizes as well only adds weight to the point.

I can understand why some people are starting to get a little angry now - I think what is tipping me over to that a bit is the idea that there might be a couple of Bruticus options beyond the G2 version for no obvious reason.

If the image had had say both versions of say Fireflight/Firefly - you'd hardly be able to tell them apart in such a small image anyway.

I agree the one thing that bugs me most about Blast Off is that he's called Blast off if he'd been a New guy then that would have been perfectly fine - it shows a lack of communication and thought with Takara over the whole shuttle issue on Hasbro's part I feel.

If they'd been talking to Takara about this then maybe Blast off wouldn't have the trolling bio it has and the name it has and would have been another new guy cosplaying as the removed character as is the established "idea" freeing up some of those left overs once they did or do release the correct toy for other use like with Galvatronus for example.

What's worse is all the limb molds are really similar to each other. If you want something other than a generic stocky robot with a crumbled-up car/aircraft on it's back, you're out of luck.

If I wanted a custom head with a faceplate, I would just buy an extra fireflight and paint the head brown. Im more into mass produced 3rd party upgrades. I believe Renderform is going to tackle it. Also I plan to buy takaras bruticus with a proper shuttle mode and head. One thing I might consider doing though is slightly changing the paint on a fireflight head to make a G2 Blast Off head without a mouth. That should be easy.

Another nice touch in this wave is that the deluxes' instruction manuals now have both the arm and leg transformation steps in the same manual. I thought that was pretty cool.

They are going by characters. Takara has some exclusive characters as does hasbro.
