I wasn't asking for myself, just wondering. Maybe the upcoming G2 variants will be overpriced even more in the future...?

I'm sure of it. I just hope CW G2 Slingshot will stay in one piece this time around.

Slight spin on my idea for Titan Wars.

Making every deluxe a head for FM would be nuts.

Instead, imagine every deluxe is a headmaster.

Remember those headmaster power specs on their chests when you plugged a head in.

Well, let's imagine that every Deluxe has an Autobot and Decepticon logo. And it changes based on whether the head you attach is an Autobot or Decepticon.

Scramble City plus Headmasters plus the S3 G1 episode Almost Human.

The Transformers are all minicons or Nebulons or trapped in human bodies and this time instead of fighting over Energon or the Allspark, the resource they're feuding over is a limited quantity of Transformer bodies.

Heads fighting over bodies.

With Optimus and Megatron fighting to be the head of Fortress Maximus.

I could see groove being a hot commodity on ebay, if the set was bought just to sell groove, that's a lot of money to make up for; same could be said for any future TT exclusive limb packaged only in a box set. I can foresee a lot of grooves hitting ebay for $200 immediately upon arrival

The future value of CW figures (imo) comes down to whether or not they have received good, solid, updated figures before now.

Imo, the Autobot car characters from CW may not be real valuable in the future.
After CW has come and gone, and can no longer be found in stores or online,
a person who wants TF figures based on a character could realistically want the Classics, Universe, RtS, or Generations version. Especially if they're not real interested in the combiners.

If I wanted a G1 Smokescreen, Hound, and Sunstreaker, I'd go with the Universe versions without question for all three.
In fact, I'm an example of what I'm talking about--
I'm going to buy the older version of Trailbreaker, because I like that figure better than the figure of him from the CW line. I also don't need him to have the ability to combine.
Spending $6 more (than a current CW deluxe) in this case for me is worth it.

The CW figures that will have an upped value later down the road are those that haven't had a solid, updated version of those characters.

Well, speaking of the cw line, outside of the superfluous newly combining figures, the aerialbots and such can't technically have good updates, as they were combiners to begin with, so any future updates would require them to also be a combiner. I mean you can have the old universe silverbolt if you really want just him, but as far as combiner figures go, these will probably be the definitive versions of them for quite a while.

Seriously though I agree that not many will have great value until about five years later as supply is much greater, seemingly with every new line they've launched.

What are you talking about, Groove is still there, it's just that he got stretched into a bra for defensor. Or maybe Rook used his hulk-hands mode to squish groove into scale

Anybody else kind of want an Energon Prowl out of dragstrip, maybe give it an enclosed cockpit, and a light bar. I really do like the mold.

Well, technically, just as you used Universe Silverbolt as an example, you can have updated figures that do not combine. The Universe Onslaught is another example.
So as it's already happened, it's possible, just not ideal if you want combining figures.
Hasbro could've made a deluxe class Dead End and Breakdown, without the ability to combine,
and they could've been outstanding figures on their own.
To be honest, I'm a little surprised Hasbro didn't cash-in on this during those past lines...
Yes, collectors would've complained. As they bought all of those figures.
Heck, I bought the exclusive Dragstrip from the Classics Mirage mold, and I didn't complain at all.

But yes, all of these CW figures that hadn't received good G1-esque updates before now will most likely maintain and gain value.

By the way, you saying "these will probably be the definitive versions of them for quite a while",
is part of why I started speculating (sorry), that at some point, animal/beast/dino/insect based characters could be a major part of a new line.
And with a decent combining system now in place, characters such as Abominus and Predaking shouldn't be too far off.

There's been speculation that predating could be seen as a titan class due to the original toys size and due to his reputation in various fictions.

To be honest the next line I thought they were going to do after combiner wars was either a beast wars anniversary line or a line based on the plot currently in the comics were they are establishing contact with the different colonies ergo possibility for different styles within the line.

I'm going to ask again, does anyone know which Combaticons are getting variants/running changes, and what the differences will be? The doubling up of Onslaught and Brawl on the chart earlier in the thread makes me think the info's available, but for the life of me I can't find it.

Nice thought, but the colors are probably a little too close to Mirage's.

Speaking of Mirage, how about recoloring him into Skid-Z?

A Beast Wars anniversary line? Yeah, I wish. We got a couple BW figures in the 25th anniversary part of Universe, a small handful of them in Thrilling 30, so if the pattern holds, I'm not so sure they'll do more before 2019. They didn't do anything for the BW 15th, I'd be displeased but not surprised if they ignored the 20th too.

And isn't that second one kinda like Cybertron without the keys?

Alpha Bravo, Offroad, and especially Rook (whose mold was never reused without heavy changes) will go up because of the people who didn't get them initially, and Viper seems to be getting released in somewhat smaller quantities compared to his wavemates (and won't be included in the next wave too like they will), so I expect he might become pricey.

I meant if it was bought for the purpose of scalping groove online, you would have to at least make up the money you lost buying it, you might have a hard time scalping the other protectobots due to the different (and somewhat lackluster, in my books) paint job.

My sneaking suspicion is that BW will be part of a boxed set or will be the Souvenir set but not the whole thing.

Oddly, what springs to mind there for me is a vehicle mode Bat Primal from Ratbat/Scourge and a vehicle mode Gatortron from Sgt. Kup.

Interestingly, based on the toy bios, this would probably position these characters as Beast Wars era incarnations (clones or otherwise) of G1 Prime and Megatron who underwent beast alterations. Or they might be repurposed as new characters.

I know there are other BW characters who might get decos but I suspect the con exclusives will veer towards the Bat/Gator homage while the club sub will get more popular characters from the show.

By the way guys. Shartimus Prime had an interview with Jerry Jivoin and the main designer at Hasbro and they said there would be some new combiner wars molds post Skyreign. I freaken hoped they would and it would have sucked if they didnt, but at least we know now that we will not just be getting retools and redecos all year.

The question I haven't seen is whether there will be non-CW, non-RiD, non-movie figures. Like maybe Generations comic packs or something.

Well... Next question. Who do you all think could be slotted for these new molds??
Think there's a chance we're getting another torso figure? New limbs only?
An entire NEW team worth of figures???

I don't think it's really going to happen, but since I want more Decepticons,
I'm hoping it's Abominus.

*no beast combiners next year*

Technobots would be nice, technically TT groove could be 'new'. I'm hoping for 2 decepticon torsos and a set of decepti-limbs

Here is the interview if you want the context. Though I warn you, its not great aside from that small tidbit. I cant stand the faces this guy makes to the camera and to the people he is interviewing:

A Beast Wars anniversary line? Yeah, I wish. We got a couple BW figures in the 25th anniversary part of Universe, a small handful of them in Thrilling 30, so if the pattern holds, I'm not so sure they'll do more before 2019. They didn't do anything for the BW 15th, I'd be displeased but not surprised if they ignored the 20th too.

And isn't that second one kinda like Cybertron without the keys?

I was kinda talking about what Hasbro would do, not FunPub, but okay.

But since he brought it up, if Fun Pub were to do something BW-related for 2016, I could see them doing a Beast Wars: Uprising set to go along with more of that universe's storyline to come (at least three more text stories are coming, with the third one--counting the first two that already came out--being titled "Burning Bridges", and the fifth one called "Trigger Warnings" which will also include the Predacon Wolfang).

If Wolfang isn't a repaint of RiD Warrior Steeljaw, I'll be shocked. Furthermore, why Predacon Wolfang? He's a MAXIMAL, damnit! The only time he was a Predacon was when he was a new character with the same name for Takara's Beast Wars Telechroma series, because they were apparently OCD then about having equal numbers of good guys and bad guys in the line.
