Good for you!
Since I am limited with how many Transformers I can get every month (I haven't bought any Transformers for months now because of finances, other than the Dragstrip I got for my B-day, but that will change soon), I can only get a few of the combiners each year. So I'm not planning to get Defensor, because I want to get Bruticus. I am only getting the figures that appeal to me most, and I don't get many repaints/remolds, because I'm sparing with money. (In case you can't tell I have A.D.D.)

"Geewunner" = fan who LOVES G1 above all else and expresses a disdain towards anything that either isn't G1 or skews too far away (in their opinion) from the 1980's rendition of G1
"Geewhiner" = uber Geewunner who takes both their strict adheesrence to 1980's G1 and their disdain towards all else to an annoying extreme

I would honestly suggest you get Defensor, or at least a few pieces of him. He looks so good and he transforms so awesomely. I'm excited that the Hot Spot mold has 2 more uses (onslaught and Pyra Magna) left in it. It may be the shortest, but it is amazing. And the whole combiner team just meshes so well. It is very appealing

Sabrblade wrote:One more clarification: If you like or are okay with anything that isn't G1 (i.e. -Beast Wars, Armada, the movies, Animated, Prime, Robots in Disguise, etc.), you are not a Geewunner. Geewunners have an "all or nothing" mentality in which they actively and automatically disapprove of any and all things that are either drastically different from 1980's G1 or are not G1 altogether, no matter how legitimately good (or bad) those things might be.
If you like G1 the most but still also get any kind of enjoyment/entertainment out of anything that isn't G1, then you're not a Geewunner. You're a G1 fan who's accepting/willing to accept other things as well, which is far better than being a Geewunner since both "Geewunner" and "Geewhiner" are derogatory labels in essence.phantom1592 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:One more clarification: If you like or are okay with anything that isn't G1 (i.e. -Beast Wars, Armada, the movies, Animated, Prime, Robots in Disguise, etc.), you are not a Geewunner. What if you tolerate something because it's all we currently have... but the more it references G1 the better? I know I hated Beast Wars until they found the Ark... then it got pretty cool. Same with TF: Prime... I'm a fan of the G1 references, but have essentially buried the 'best' version and will put up with some poor imitiations for now...
Does that count? or does it have to be all GrrrrHate all the time?

interesting definitions... that would definitely put me in the Geewunner category... in that I don't think I get into an annoying extreme![]()
If something isn't G1 enough for me... I am grateful I don't need to buy it.![]()
This newest batch I'm torn on... Lot of awesome G1 characters coming down the line... not sure how many i'll get. REALLY leaning toward Mirage and sunstreaker since I don't have those characters yet.. Prowl isn't as cool as my masterpiece one.. I have the classics hound (though this one looks pretty awesome) Wheeljack wasn't a favorite... but he does look cool... May need a torso bot for them, but use my MP10 for prime...
Sigh... the troubles of a Transformer fan
AND of course Devastator... and MP bumblebee... and GCreations Snarl... Lot of awesomeness coming down the line all at once, and my moneys are stretched thin...

Did someone modify what I wrote? I don't remember writing the stuff I hilighted in bold.
Anyways, I do really like the Onslaught, that's why I'm skipping out on Defensor and getting Bruticus instead. I think the bulky, chunky looking torso just looks better for a brute such as Bruticus, rather than Defensor.

He quoted wrong. I actually said that. And honestly I think that mold works perfectly for Defensor. it will look good with Bruticus, but Defensor with that ladder transformation makes this mold

I agree that the ladder transformation is amazing, but I have limited amounts of money I can spend on Transformers. I am getting UW Devastator, possibly Cyclonus, the rest of the deluxe Stunticons, and I would rather have Bruticus than Defensor. I have a lot of figures to get as it is, and I have to choose wisely.

Once you get to the phase of being a professional (living on your own etc), don't be ashamed of your TF hobby. Sure you have to balance it with your daily living responsibilities but don't let other people tell you otherwise to be ashamed and abandoned your hobby.
Of course once you start earning on your own, it's when to let a fig go or not as compared to paying the rent etc.....that's the painful part
