Let's all be perfectly honest about Betatron - Hasbro is trolling us. We all hate him. So when they decide not to make the rest of Computron, they'll blame the poor sales. It's cause you made didn't even try, Hasbro!

Let's all be perfectly honest about Smokescreen - we don't care about the light bar. We all just want four of him just to be limbs for Sky Reign. That will be one gorgeous combiner.

Re: Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Discussion Thread
I think with Computron, the molds are so different and, as stated, blocky -- that the ideal is to make them out of completely different vehicles if you're going a retool.
For example: Afterburner.
The easy solution would be to make him out of Groove. I think, at a casual glance, he'd work better as a retooled Alpha Bravo. The bot mode is almost there and the helicopter shape with wheel accommodation in place of the propeller and tail captures the feel better.
Hotshot might have been a better base for Scattorshot. Still not bulky enough but I can see the ladder swapping out for an epic cannon. I realize the wings take more plastic. Maybe something where you have a leader class release of Scattorshot and Afterburner.
I think Afterburner could work as Wheeljack.
Honestly, though, I think the Technobots would work better as a re-release of a WFC Combiner retool/remold.

With a new head, I think a repainted CW Wheeljack would work as a Lightspeed. It'd also be nice to see the club Ramhorn retool used as Nosecone.

See, Wheeljack would make a pretty good Lightspeed, and it would satisfy me. The drill part would need better molding to make Nosecone though. The one the club is doing wouldn't be fully satisfactory considering the drill is small. Still would want a takara Groove to Afterburner, and then Strafe would work as an Air Raid retool or even a new mold. Heck, if any they all deserve new molds, but even if they are released later that may still be asking for a lot

Considering that hasbro just trademarked - or whatever - the beast combiner names (and considering computron was released alongside the beast combiners) I think that cw2 will be a thing. Even if all it is is a single combiner each year. 2017 could see abominus and computron, heck, the third leg of the cw trilogy could even be about beast combiners and headmasters...

According to the latest TCC magazine, an interview with John Warden revealed that Hasbro chose to go with vehicular combiners only so as to not confuse kids since the RID 2015 series has beast-based characters in it.

That seems like borderline insulting, considering they have different names, turn into completely different things, and fly under an entirely different banner

TCC: What Combiner were you personally eager to make, but just could not get it into the final product line? Predaking, Piranhacon(sic), Abominus are seemingly absent from Combiner Wars. Were the animal Combiners just not feasible for the line or was it a priority issue, wanting to focus on the more classic vehicle Combiners?
JW: You took the words right out of my mouth: Predaking. I loved Predaking as a kid, and I loved the other Monster/Beast Combiner teams as well. I'd even love to bring to life the idea of a Dinobot Combiner team in toy form.
Every figure we create needs to be able to be incorporated into the greater whole of the Combiner Wars line. To create a Beast Combiner, we would have had to dedicate a full wave of product to play off the aesthetics of the original characters and Combiners that fans love.
Secondly, we wanted to focus the line on "terrestrial" forms (such as helicopters, jets, cars) that we knew would be easily identified by the new fans (kids) and would give a point of difference from the Transformers: Robots in Disguise toyline, which has a lot of Beast/Monster Alt Forms.

THAT, my friend, is some grade-A bull****! It literally says the name of the toyline and the character on the box! The boxes are also completely different. And the "beast" characters, if that's what you'd like to call them, are only beastly looking in robot mode. Not one of the beast combiner components has a vehicle altmode.

I did. And it's still bullshlitz. And the guy's a damn liar. There are no "beast alt modes" in the RID toyline, unless you count Grimlock, but that's one figure. One figure vs 11 components of 2 different combiners with actual beast modes. This is insulting. If a kid can't tell the difference between a Combiner Wars box and an RID box, then why not market them all under one toyline so that kids won't get confused. Ugh. It even says Combiner Wars if it's Combiner Wars, and RID if it's RID. The fact that they've done this is just insulting. I'm surprised Hasbro, who's number one audience is kids, are refusing to do beast combiners so that kids don't get confused. The only way you would not be able to tell the two apart, was if you were blind. I'm not joking. This is a big bitchslap. One of them combines, one doesn't. Is it that farking hard to tell the difference? RID figures don't have beast alt modes, either. The only beast traits that they have are their names and robot modes. And sometimes it's just the head.

I honestly don't see what's so "insulting" about it. Remember when everyone wasn't such a delicate little flower and you could say/do things without having to immediately apologize because you "offended" someone? It's just ridiculous. At any rate I'm just going to leave this here

I do, those were the days
I must say though, that that hound is really shaping up nicely. Really like the colors on that version of the figure (the cg ones were really dark - to the point of being uniform)
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

I'm pretty happy with the hound but kinda disappointed in the others. I was excited for Wheeljack but this white is just blinding...
