Like, I want, so very want to quote this. I don't know if I can digest such a huge...take in that kind of...swal...just...
Man, on a scale of 1 to even, I literally just can't right now.

D-Maximus_Prime wrote:See, Wheeljack would make a pretty good Lightspeed, and it would satisfy me. The drill part would need better molding to make Nosecone though. The one the club is doing wouldn't be fully satisfactory considering the drill is small. Still would want a takara Groove to Afterburner, and then Strafe would work as an Air Raid retool or even a new mold. Heck, if any they all deserve new molds, but even if they are released later that may still be asking for a lot

Considering that hasbro just trademarked - or whatever - the beast combiner names (and considering computron was released alongside the beast combiners) I think that cw2 will be a thing. Even if all it is is a single combiner each year. 2017 could see abominus and computron, heck, the third leg of the cw trilogy could even be about beast combiners and headmasters...

Hopefully it will. WE have a real chance of getting all of the original combiners released in the US, and I would love to have a full roster of combiners

There's nothing better than a well executed combiner for me

Same! Except I prefer the plural: combiners!

Here's an excerpt from the interview in question:Hellscream9999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:According to the latest TCC magazine, an interview with John Warden revealed that Hasbro chose to go with vehicular combiners only so as to not confuse kids since the RID 2015 series has beast-based characters in it.
That seems like borderline insulting, considering they have different names, turn into completely different things, and fly under an entirely different banner
TCC: What Combiner were you personally eager to make, but just could not get it into the final product line? Predaking, Piranhacon(sic), Abominus are seemingly absent from Combiner Wars. Were the animal Combiners just not feasible for the line or was it a priority issue, wanting to focus on the more classic vehicle Combiners?
JW: You took the words right out of my mouth: Predaking. I loved Predaking as a kid, and I loved the other Monster/Beast Combiner teams as well. I'd even love to bring to life the idea of a Dinobot Combiner team in toy form.
Every figure we create needs to be able to be incorporated into the greater whole of the Combiner Wars line. To create a Beast Combiner, we would have had to dedicate a full wave of product to play off the aesthetics of the original characters and Combiners that fans love.
Secondly, we wanted to focus the line on "terrestrial" forms (such as helicopters, jets, cars) that we knew would be easily identified by the new fans (kids) and would give a point of difference from the Transformers: Robots in Disguise toyline, which has a lot of Beast/Monster Alt Forms.

THAT, my friend, is some grade-A bull****! It literally says the name of the toyline and the character on the box! The boxes are also completely different. And the "beast" characters, if that's what you'd like to call them, are only beastly looking in robot mode. Not one of the beast combiner components has a vehicle altmode.

I must say though, that that hound is really shaping up nicely. Really like the colors on that version of the figure (the cg ones were really dark - to the point of being uniform)
