My apologies to sidetrack this active forum with such a beginner level question, but I figure it never hurts to ask...
After "retiring" myself from TF toy collecting for almost 10 years, Combiner Wars has me sorely tempted to jump back in. Of course since I sold my vast Original TF -TF: Energon collection back in 2005, of course I have occasionally bought random toys for my son, but very few have enticed me as this line has. For the past several months I have been slowly observing & gathering data, and I think I know almost everything I need to know.
The huge draw for me is of course the return of classic combiners which were always my favorites (aside from Omega Supreme). But a whole line built around them is pretty much a dream come true.
Now finally to my question ---It appears the Leader Class Figures (Megatron, Armada Megatron, Ultra Magnus etc...) really have no "combiner" aspect to them. i.e. -they don't have any design to combine with any other toys from any of the other size classes in any way. Is this true? Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you.

Though apparently the Armada Megatron can still combine with Tidal Wave...

Finally, with the G2 sets I'll have to wait and see if Takara plans to release them or not. I'm guessing no because they were not part of the vastly limited G2 line that Japan had back in 1995.

The tagline for the G2 comics was "These aren't your daddies Autobots!" or something along those lines. And it is funny to say nonetheless

If I'd had more money I would have gone for the 2 pack with Scattershot. I don't mind his design, and if I really didn't want him I could sell him.

I went for the two-pack of Onslaught and Scattorshot, which I wouldn'tve done if it weren't for the point system used by The Chosen Prime. I'm basically getting Scattorshot for free, and once they get here, Ill probably turn around and sell him to my local comic shop, and use the proceeds to get myself a set of those PE hand/feet sets. Cash back!

If it was, Slingshot Quickslinger would have disintegrated from Gold Plastic Syndrome by now.
megatronus wrote:So Japan gets the G1 box sets, and the Americas get garish G2. Fitting, I guess.
Hasbro released the G1 versions as singles and Takara didn't, though, so it makes sense to me that they'd think a box set of G1 versions might be a bit superfluous compared to something that's at least had a color change. They probably figured G2 was the closest they could get to a "classic" alternate color scheme.

That, and they probably figured the same figures probably wouldn't sell all over again - especially in those colors

Ah, good ole GPS. Good thing the newer plastics are immune. We would need a G2 Alpha Bravo to take G2 Quickslinger's spot after his GPS death otherwise

Guys! Brawl' waste situation REALLY isn't that bad!
There is enough tension to hold it. It's not perfect, but it's not a deal breaker.
Edit: OH! I almost forgot. Swindle is all WIN!
