No one hates you. As I have explained to you before, a lot of posts don't get responded to, it's nothing personal, it happens to all of us.

Please, I'm asking nicely, drop the "everyone hates me" attitude.

We were eating popcorn and watching the meme's fly, that is until Burn showed up with his ban(dstand)hammer and ruined the fun :-P

Yes, for the same price as all of the G2 sets, and Victorion, he really had better have 6 figures, also, Betatron is a mis-colored prototype to squeeze cash out of us, Computron is the boxset we all need right now

What’s weird to me is that Betashot was clearly made on the cheap, but there’s still more work on him than your typical cash-grab case-filler figure. If they’re going to release a cheap version, then retail a better version in a year, why not just release the standalone figure as a different character entirely, perhaps with no retooling at all? That’s basically what they did with the last Silverbolt toy.

I wonder if there was originally a different figure intended for this wave, but it was cancelled at the last minute for some reason; then Scattershot was rushed into production early to fill the gap, but his head wasn’t done yet. (That goes along with my theory that the real Computron head is a Titan Master. =P~ Maybe he can ride Afterburner.)

That's actually extremely possible; if I remember correctly he wasn't even painted correctly at botcon :-?

But Computrons head wouldn't be a titan master, they would have to re-engineer the neck plate with a swivel port, and I don't think there's enough clearance for that #-o

That's the best explanation I've heard for the nonsense that is Betashot. But I doubt the Titan Master theory... combining and headmaster'ing is a lot of gimmickin' to jam in one package.

Well, Sentinel Prime Astrotrain manages triple-changing, headmaster'ing, and being amazing pretty handily :KREMZEEK:

Now we wait to see how Hasbro screws this one up.

Seriously, I'm expecting some radically bizarre paintjob on Scattorshot (except Computron's head will be perfectly G1), or an inexplicable Onslaught repaint in his place, or something. Y'know, because a $100 isn't enough, we just gotta fork over another $25 for the regular Scattorshot...

If it turns out the Computron set has a perfectly G1 Scattorshot, I've got to wonder why they didn't just repaint Cyclonus as Starscream instead. Would've made a fun alternative Combaticon torso.

Okay, now that I look at it again, I see what you mean. I guess you could make so room if you do some (or a lot of) retooling (especially since a complete head doesn't have to fit in there), but that could easily go beyond what Hasbro's budgeting for this set.

Isn't Victorion also retailing for $99.99? If so, then I think this figure should get at least some retooled part beyond alternate heads. Or like, 1 or 2 base molds rumored to be too expensive for individual release...

(Okay, I'm done. No more speculating for me tonight.)

Well, there's:

-The remolding for whomever strafe will be made out of

-Up to 7 new heads (up to 6 figures, and Computrons head)

-The remolding for scattershot, with possible additional re-molding

-Remolding for Groove (which hasbro hasn't profited from at all yet, despite (helping?) pay for the mold)

-New molding for computron (head, chest plates, etc.)

-Plus any remolding for any possible legends figure included

So when you think about it, it's actually the fairest asking price of the 5 sets revealed so far

THIS

But being fair, I'd say we need one set of extra limbs for each faction to aid in the scrambling 8-)

Computron box set? Can't say I have very high hopes for this. So Far all of Hasbro's box sets aside from Victorion have been straight repaints, I don't really see why this one wold be any different considering the price. I guess including characters that weren't sold individually could make the difference, but considering what we've gotten for straight repaints at retail I have my doubts.

People are still finding Combiner Wars stuff at retail? What little was in stock in my area before Christmas is long gone save for a few Legends. RID still has quite a bit in stock, but stores carry more of that stuff anyway so it isn't a big surprise.

Well, for 'straight repaints', they've been pretty low as compared to incredible remolds thus far. As for Computron, we have Wheeljack, who is completely remolded, for Lightspeed, the (thus far accurate) rumors state that Strafe will be remolded (and based on the remolding done for the rest of the line, it should be pretty great), Groove will be remolded for accuracy, Scattershot has been remolded - and may have even more remolding, and Ramhorn has shown us what Nosecone will look like, so, technically they will be redeco's, but few of which we'll have had at that point >:oP

It's pretty Slim Pickens in my neighborhood for both lines.

I spotted at least two cases of the Combaticons at two different chains about a week apart just before christmas and haven't seen much of anything since. If you want the hip replacement version of MM, then I got you covered. At least 8 of em at our target.

Don't forget Devastator.
Devs doesn't get to come inside and play with the little kids. He has to stay outside with the teenagers, smoking cigarettes behind the tool shed.

Shouldn't we also count the other red headed step combiners? Ultra Prime, Galvatronus, Optimus Maximus, Betatron and Sky Reign? That still puts the bots way ahead of the cons. HelloScreamy may just be onto something ;)

Optimus Maximus is technically a canonical combiner, even though he only appeared in one issue (and cameoed in the issue before that).

Even with the Computron reveal, I'm still going to keep Betatron on the shelf instead of OPMax, as it saves me moneys on PE upgrade kits.

But I still can't wait for this.

EDIT: :( Aw. Why didn't anyone reply to my witty post about turning the tables on Shajaki? Including ACTUAL table flipping, no less.

i think we're overlooking the fact that when Computron comes out.....some of the Titan Wars figures will also be out(Blaster, Hardhead, Powermaster Prime, Fort Max) so we'll no doubt be turning our attention to those figures instead!(well......apart from Sky Lynx that is).

I think you might be thinking of Pathfinder, who was a Go-Bot. I-Gear did a redeco of their not-Cosmos as not-Pathfinder and called it "Roswell."

EDIT: And there was also a blue and yellow redeco of G1 Cosmos as Path Finder.
