I had/have this too with Slingshot. It appears that the 2 "pegs" that fit into the jet body are slightly too big for the holes and push the canopy right back out. There is good news though, over time and enough transformations, they seem to fit themselves back in by stretching the holes and/or wearing the pegs over time. This used to happen 100% of the time, but less and less the more times I transform him. Down to less than 20% now. My Blast off has done it once when I initially transformed him, and not since. It also seems that the front landing gear also helps hold it in place a little bit once the pegs/holes start wearing themselves into a better fit.

This is one of those lucky times that playing with it more is the solution. (I know there is an off-color joke in there somewhere)

So I just got back from a visit to my local Toys'R'Us in hopes of finding some G2 goodness or at least some Combaticons. The reslut was rather depressing...

I think CW Ultra M wasn't meant to scale well with the Leader Megatrons and Seekers, but rather scale well with the other recent and future G1 season 3 character releases such as Cyclonus, Galvatron, and Springer for example. I think the season 1 characters such as Megs and the Seekers were meant to scale well with Devy and MPs.

Wow, a little late to the party.

Yes, we know this and it was discussed at leangth in the Leader CW thread (this is about the combiners). And those leaders like Megs, the seekers and upcoming Soundwave arent meant to scale with MP either. They just scale with themselves as a new scale. Just like the legens versions of megs and the seekers scale with themselves.

My Wal-Mart has one Age of Extinction Leader Class Grimlock and five or six of the RID one-step figures, and that's it. For a long time they had a single RID Ratbat figure too, but that finally sold a week ago or so.

Yup, if hasbro ever wondered why they don't get any tf sales through brick'n'mortar stores, this is it

However, this is also the typical seasonal glut between Christmas and Easter. It's been happening every year at least since I was a kid. Target got in some new products for other toy lines (such as Disney Princess, Shopkins, Rescue Bots, etc) right after Christmas, which was probably meant to arrive in time for Christmas, but either way most of that product has already sold from the stores near me. TRU is your best bet at this time of the year. However, a lot of 1st quarter Transformers merchandise is enroute to retailers currently. I've received most of the new Rescue Bots products for my store, as well as Robots In Disguise and have new Combiner Wars product enroute as well.

I have to agree. In my area, Wal-Mart has been on a Transformer drought since summer. Meijer and Target have each been getting trickles in, but Wal-Mart flat out dried up. Rescue bots are the only part of transformers to receive any new stock since at least August. With my job I'm in these stores almost every day, five days a week, so I keep a close eye on the toys shelves, simply out of habit at this point.

From talking with a couple of managers I know, some of it has to do with the absolute abysmal sales they had with the AoE and Beast Hunter lines. Hell, 2 if my Wal-Mart's still have AiR items on clearance shelves. Other than that, all you can find is RiD first wave stuff.

I think it's the Grimlock figure from Spring of 2014 that gets me. Good grief.

TRU is your best bet at this time of the year.

The $20 they're asking for deluxe figures is what puts me off. At that rate I might as well shop online. Ouch.

Weird thing, though, they stocked the new 2016 TMNT Mega Bloks right away, only a week or so before Walmart did. Looking at Barbie and Monster High, too, it seems like Mattel products don't have as much of the post Christmas dry-spell as Hasbro's products do.

And Lego products restocked right away too, of course. The Jurassic World sets and the Nexo Knights are abundant.

Guys, please get back on topic of Combiner Wars. Discussing availability of other figures should be in its own thread. :)

Other than exclusives, Rook has no straight repaint in the line anywhere, right?

Exclusives only - Roller in Japan and Botcon Tarantulas. Which is unfortunate, because I think he's one of the best molds of the line. I would have preferred Ironhide be a minor retool of Rook (just a head swap) and Swindle be a minor retool of Offroad. Giving Swindle the big beefy body just seems weird.

I don't remember if this was common knowledge, but G2 Superion is in stock at HTS, by the way. With their special deal right now - $90 for a full combiner is pretty danged good.

He doesnt. Meaning his sculpt is pretty unique at retail for Hasbro. Odd how the new extra dude gets the nice single sculpt.

Given the sort of similar alt modes, I thought rook would of made a good base for a cw version of movie wreckage (I know that wreckage loses in a way going from an army personnel carrier to a swat team carrier) I think the mold would work well under decepticon orders ;-)

Oh really? I always figued she was a decepticon since she was seen as a general from the old war, so I assumed before Maximals and Predecons. But either way, yeah that would be a very suitable mold.

PS: Those were such uderwhelming toys. You would think the greatest generals of history would be a lot more imposing than that but yet that Tankor toy towered over them.

All that's left at the Walmart near my dwelling place (yes, Death stalks Wal-mart) are a few Legends CW figures. Beyond that it's just RiD leavings from Christmas - and one battered 30th anniversary "Rhinox" :)

Officially her alignment has bounced all over, from story-to-story. In Beast Machines she and Obsidian were supposed to have been great generals wholly devoted to the defense of Cybertron as a planet, implied not to be involved in the Autobot/Decepticon civil war, but rather focused outward on enemies like the Quintessons. I always found it an interesting idea, something that needed more exploration, and now, looking back, I realize that they would have been a lot like Tolkien's Dunedain or the Brother's of the Night's Watch in Game of Thrones.

Supposedly they served Megatron in Beast Machines without any personality tampering because he had become the only thing that passed for authority on the planet, and their vows precluded them from passing judgment on the planet's governance. As to why they actively helped him track down the Maximals (fellow Cybertronians) rather than remain neutral in that conflict, my impression was that Megatron probably convinced them that the Beast Machine Maximals were, effectively, aliens dirtying up the place - shedding all over everything, leaving techno-organic droppings, etc. - so the two of them went to work ridding Cybertron's current incarnation from the outside threat that was organic contamination. From their perspective, I imagine they were probably doing something akin to containing a group of civilians infected with an extraterrestrial pathogen.

PS: Those were such uderwhelming toys. You would think the greatest generals of history would be a lot more imposing than that but yet that Tankor toy towered over them.

There were a lot of problems with that toyline, and that was one. A Rook retool wouldn't be much bigger than Strika was, but at least it'd be more fun to play with. Of course, I wouldn't say no to a Combiner Wars Onslaught repaint/retool either - maybe as part of a combiner made from crew members of the Carcer. It'd be less true to her original altmode, but'd have the back cannons and the bulk. (Actually, come to think of it, the Universe Onslaught mold was really a missed opportunity for her.)
