If you mean when buying him, it's if he was released in Wave 4. Unite Warriors also has the hip fix. Aside from that, I'm not sure if there's any way to tell aside from when you have it in hand.

On the back of the box is an embossed number. If it leads with 4, it's a wave 2 version with bad hips. If it leads with 5, it's a wave 4 version with fixed hips.
