Actually doesn't Bandai own the rights to the brave franchise now ;-) thanks to Sunrise.

Or if my info is wrong it's certainly not takara any more
Sure. I don't even know that much about Brave other than Takara made some toys.

Hope Bandai doesn't sue Hasbro. :-P ;)

I think all parties are safe since there's no physical toy of Brave Saga 2 Victorion. Otherwise, Takara'd probably have to rename the Transformer for their market.

Not sure how toy rights work in Japan... I know the Brave series basically filled in the gaps in the majority of the 1990's when there was no active Transformers series in Japan. Takara/Sunrise created them... However the Soul of Chogokin series is owned by Bandai...of which their is a toy of at least a couple of the GaoGaiGar (Brave) series characters.

I know some toy companies in Japan are fiercely competitive, but I guess they've been known to collaborate, or license other characters for toys on rare occasions.

Still... I don't think Hasbro has anything to worry about in this case

I always wondered if Takara would do a UW version of Victorion? When I asked here, most people thought they wouldn't...you're the first person other than myself who seems to think they just might...

I could see them getting a release but they seem to be in just as much limbo as sky lynx. Then again they released windblade in their legends line despite not having any fiction for her (I have no idea where Japan is with the IDW releases). So vicky could get released and added into the fiction of whatever line they drop her into.

Windblade appears in the TF:RiD(2015) animated series (known as Transformers Adventure in Japan). A silhouette was just released seemingly indicating that Sky Reign (or some variation thereof) will be the next UW release after Computron.

Well that is interesting... I had no idea that Takara even cared about creating toys that are IDW accurate (are the comics even available in Japan?) I just figured Takara stuck with the animated series and whatever Manga they have...ya learn something new every day. :-?

Yeah Takara cares, and no those comics arent translated but they are available in english to anyone in the world. Their Ultra Magnus was also done to mirror the comic model, especially with the red thighs. Although they didnt give him Minimus Ambus which would have compelted the comic look. Oh well.

He is looking really sharp, but I meant where they were in the translated comics specifically.

I'm also aware that windblade was released in their adventures line as well but I was more meaning her release in the legends line alongside her friends arcee and chromia. My thinking was they wouldn't release vicky with no background info being around locally for her, though I'd imagine part if the fan base following developments in the west which feature her.

I'm also aware at how horribly off topic this is  but one last thing, did I miss that silhouette announcement for the UW release after compy?

Back to combiner wars, I would be interested to see what designs were talked about but ultimately failed to make the cut, I mean was the autobot cars always the plan?

Oh sorry, I misunderstood. They are very far behind. The latest book translated was All Hail Megatron. However, they do get and read the English comics.

For the record, Japanese writer and artist Hayato Sakamoto does work on both IDW's MTMTE comics and Takara's Legends and Unite Warriors toylines, so the comic-accurate Japanese toy decos are very likely his doing since he's a stickler for adhering to established continuity.

I could see Takara doing one of two things with a UW release of the Victorion molds:
1) They could simply do a very comic-accurate redeco of Victorion just like what done for TF: Legends Windblade.
2) They could completely change Victorion's deco and component identities into being all preexisting characters, such as the obvious changing of Dustup into Nightbird.

Airachnid and airazor could be the helicopters, the pointier chins kinda match both of them, and acree has a slightly curvy head like the breadown retool... not perfect, but transformers are not adverse to change ;)

Like I said, change :-P Maybe Airachnid suffered damage to her optics from the fight with zombie silas-breakdown, and now uses a visor 8-}

If they use pack in comics to explain why everyone is now suddenly a headmaster, I'm sure they can explain the use of visors.

Just got my Nonnef hands today, and after and after an intimidating ball-ache of an assembly process, I've got me some really nice hands, check out Galvatronus' new mitt's 8-)

They're pretty nice, I don't really see a need to buy upgrades, but, I love my Galvatronus so much, I really wanted him to be 'more', and the static hfg's weren't doing it for me, I really wanted poseable fingers, and now, he's amazing-er
