I have a very similar opinion. Although Grand galvatron reigns supreme above all those others.
But yeah in order it would be:
Grand galvatron
tak Computron
Bruticus
Superion
And the rest all end up tied (Menasor, g2 menasor, Liokaiser, Defensor and Skylynx). I just realizes I now have 10 CW combiners when you also count Devastator.

I have until June to add the rest of the Combaticons to my PoL before it has to ship, it will be done! I'll probably order the PE Feets/Hands/Gun Add-On for Bruticus too, just to make him that much mo' betta.
I've scrambled up Galvatronus, I just think he's too thin! We will see how Menasor improves when his PE set arrives too.
You are right about Devastator, he's not scrambled eggs. He doesn't count.
10 COMBINERS WJ?! THAT'S 51 INDIVIDUAL BOTS (as Devastator is 6)!!

I've got Defensor, Victorion and Bruticus myself. Also Sky Lynx, Alpha Bravo, Offroad and Mirage.
In order... I'd have to say Bruticus is the best one, followed by Victorion and Defensor in last place. Not that Defensor is bad though, all three are excellent.

Poor boring Defensor.

I've got PE kits on all but Hasputron. I'd like to get some because the stock feet just don't pose worth a flipped table.

I go with Rook. I love new additions to the team like that (especially when they're this cool and they give Defensor an awesome shoulder pauldron thing), plus Groove as a Legends-sized figure just makes more sense and gives him a bit more personality. The chest armour is pulled off better by Rust Dust on Victorion but I'm very happy with tiny little Groove hanging out with the rest of the team and giving hope to the idea of scale.

Re: Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Discussion Thread
Yeah, I have a few combiners but find it really hard to pick an absolute favorite. I probably like Tak Computron w/ Hasbro Afterbreaker and hands/feet the best for the good guys and Megatronia w/ Jester (Wreck-gar with a couple decepticon reprolabels) the best for the bad guys.
For the roster of the combiner battle royal
FOC Britucus and Ruination, yeah they were just cannonfodder.
For CW, I have all the Hasbro regular releases and box sets
For UW, I have Computron, Grand Galvatron, Megatronia and Baldigus
Also in there is Stickerous Maximum - ReproLables got me Battle Core OP as Nova Prime, Ironhide as Smolder, Wheeljack as X-Tinguisher, Trailbreaker as the Fallen and I let my 6 year old decorate Offroad with some smiley face stickers so he wouldn't feel left out.
Hasbro Cyclonus and Alpha Bravo
I may have a plastic addiction as well.
Bonus fun, 9 bot Betatron. Yeah, Tak plus "breaker" is still better.

How did you give him roller skates?
Also, I got a new idea for a list. Top 5 best combiner components (torsos and limbs) in Combiner Wars/unite Warriors.
So basically, tell me your top 5 molds and give me your favourite deco of said mold. Here are mine
5. Air Raid (Armada Thrust and Guyhawk)
4. Dragstrip/Mirage (Hasbro Dragstrip)
3. Offroad (Takara Breakdown)
2. Swindle/Hound (either Swindle)
1. Cyclonus (either one)

I personally don't think Offroad deserves to be on there, at least not quite that high up. The mold's a bit weak and quite a bit of vehicle chunk gets in the way of articulation. Doesn't make a great arm either. I like the mold but it's not something I'd put on a Top 5 list.
Onslaught/Hot Spot is a winner for me personally, and a big part of that requires them to be in that spot because the retooling is very impressive to me. Each vehicle mode looks distinct and striking, while their conversion to Torso mode (which to me is one of the best torsos visually) is fun, intuitive and nullifies the need for combiner kibble parts-forming. But that's not what earns it so high up for me - the other torsos seem to do that just fine. No, what makes it incredible for me is that it's an update of the transformation for the G1 toys of both characters into their torso modes. And they share the same mold. That to me is just way too impressive.

But you can only choose one, Onslaught or Hotspot. Because a top 5 of basic CW designs wouldn't really narrow it down much and be more of a guide than a real list of the best. There were only 4 distinct torso designs, 2 distinct cars, 2 trucks, 1 jet (and that jet transformation is the same as one of the truck transformations), 1 helicopter, 1 tank, 1 motorcycle and 1 spaceship. Thats only 13 distinct design/transformations, a top 5 would include more than a third of em. So I am looking for something more specific.

In that case, Onslaught. I don't really mind which; both the fire engine and the anti-aircraft truck are awesome and update the original transformation (right down to the Bruticus head slotting right over the place Onslaught's head was, like how the original toy had the helmet go over Onslaught's face. That's just great to me)

You make a very compelling case for Onslaught over Offroad

for the record though, offroad makes an amazing arm. I really love how he actually has pegs for his arms to go in that mode.

I will disagree on Offroad making a good arm. Everything works well except where to put his damn arms. I find they either look silly or just get in the way. I put First Aid as an arm to be all G1-y, but it annoys me with the arms just poking out. I find some of the jets do a better job with blending the arms in with the heli mold doing an outstanding job. I prefer the Offroad mold as a leg.
The Deadend mold probably deals with the bot arms best in arm mode but the legs make such and unsightly wrist cuff for the combiner.
Maybe you should go a little deeper and ask - which mold, which deco and which mode (arm vs leg)? Some molds do work better as one or the other.

Its not too specific, I am not looking at specific decos or headsculpts. I want to be fair to the mold. So if someone says their favourite is Bluestreak, does that mean their favourite mold is the Prowl mold?
I would have mentioned Prowl (which I like better than Dead End) if a) his arm mode didnt split b) he had a decent leg mode and c) I wasnt sick of him

I Found Onslaught to have the better bot mode as well than Hot Shot or even the other torso bots. I felt that Hot Shot's ladder just got in the damn way.
I didnt like how squishy his ladder was and I really hated how it looked like an anorexic fire engine. At least onslought was always a more nonsensical loooooooong truck so this worked beautifully. I also didnt like how flimsy that chest piece was on hotspot, the one that always popped off when you opened it to hide his head. In the end, the plastic felt cheap on Hotspot but not on Onslought. And that coloured head Hasbro gave him was amazing. Easily the best headsculpt of the entire line.
Isn't there two jet molds? I know they all transform the same, but I see Sky Dive as being different than Firefly.
Thats what we said back in the CW days but we would all sing a different toon if presented to us today. Its not a remold in the sense we<d use it but rather parts sharing. I was looking at the jets very closely yesterday (since i got Liokaiser who has 2 jets) and realized that they are all similar but have 2 kinds of legs and 3 torso and they just mix and match. Air Raid's upper body is as different to Skydive's as it is to Firefly's. They just share the same pants and all the jets transform the same way and have as much in common with eachother as TR Scourge and Highbrow which are considered to be the same base mold. So from all that collective logic, it seems taht there really is only one jet design and its tweaked to make the jets look different.
As for making the best combiner using the limbs I like best, I have a list of top 5 best combiners post G1 and number 1 is grand galvatron which includes most of the molds I like. So tahts covered there
