Well, aside from these toylines being planned way in advance; do recall that TR Alpha Trion and Galvatron were originally based on designs not intended for Titans Return. So if the use of the G1 bodies for the Combiners here is because the CW designs hadn't been made yet... that could very possibly indicate that the designs used for TR Alpha Trion and Galvatron predate not just TR, but Prime Wars entirely.

Yes, Silly. that art is conceptual art for Combiner Wars. Simply meant to be a color piece to inspire the designers. I find it interesting too that Trion is in that form. Goes to show how long that design has been on the table.
I'm sure the illustrator who did this work had to pull reference from where ever they could. Remember, not all artists hired to do TF work are TF super fans.

I would have said Powerglide, but, maybe its just a flaw with mine, but the back part wont stay together in plane or gun mode. Viper doesn't have a problem, and I haven't taken my TT Dogfight out of its package yet, though I will eventually.

You know, Blackjack is pretty dang sweet too. It's hard to pick a best. The Legends class has been killing it pretty much since T30 up to now.

And Powerglide is a definite want. Kinda hard to get sometimes when I go TF hunting though. I love collecting Legends scale Minibots.

For me personally it is a hard one - I kinda backed myself into a corner - but I think I'd have to go with Rust Dust. It was down to her and Groove; very close competition but I eventually decided I preferred Rust Dust's deco. Beautiful figure with a lot of personality, and it manages to do the best job at reviving the Breastforce

Um, yay! Rust Dust for the win! Man Vicky and G2 Superion are probably the two box sets I want most. Not sure which I'd get! Superion is nostalgic and has an amazing color scheme, and the other option is a bunch of girlfriends! Okay not really, but still...

Well, they're lovers, and that's it. We generally don't get much characterisation on the Torchbearers beyond Pyra Magna unfortunately - the one problem with this relationship - but they're still very cute together and I'm so glad IDW done this.

I know I'm not gonna get much support on this, but I like Powerglide/Viper. Pretty nice triplechanger/targetmaster for ten bucks. Sure, the gun mode's not quite as good as Shockwave's, but that's because Shockwave doesn't have separate vehicle and weapon modes.

I'd probably 2nd that. I wasn't a huge fan of the CW Legends so to me, it's slim pickings. Powerglide is pretty cool, though I think the bot mode is better than the alt mode. I don't have a whole lot of other legends, but I also think Windcharger is ok. Far from the best bot mode, but the car looks good enough.

I liked Viper. A little let down by his somewhat odd arm articulation - and his gun mode wasn't good, but I won't hold that against him - but all in all a pretty decent figure. Also you can mistransform him into having a very long neck. Useful for giving yourself nightmares for a month if you're into that sort of thing
