I think it's taken from his animation model which was sort of a bucket head but flat on the front (You'd need to see a pic to understand what the hell I'm trying to describe)

But... we did have a Deluxe Arcee four years ago. Animated Arcee was a Deluxe released four years ago.shockblast2 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:According to the rumors, Groove's a Legends; Streetsmart, First Aid, Blades, and newcomer Rook will be Deluxes.
That rumor is nothing more than a listing in Walmarts computer, and that listing highly resembles the Protectobot set that is already out now, with Legion Prime Arcee as Groove.
I cannot trust anything in Walmarts computers. They said we would have a deluxe Arcee four years ago and a Combaticon Bot Shot set that never saw the light of day, amongst other debacles they have "rumored" over the years.

And the Prime First Edition Arcee (along with the rest of the Prime First Edition Bumblebee and Starscream toys) was originally going to be released in the Generations line before Hasbro changed their minds and made the full blown Prime First Edition mini-line. So it could have been a leftover listing from those initial plans.
Right, but around that time is when Prime (both the show and the toys) would have been in development, giving enough of a window for the listing to possibly refer to an upcoming figure that would be taken out of the Generations line and later put into its own line, which is what happened to the three aforementioned Prime FE figures.shockblast2 wrote:But, it wasn't. The article specifically said Generations Arcee and was bfore Prime was created. I actually found it and I will post the listings here.

Don't forget that there was also a Starscream in those listings, and the first Generations Starscream toy (the FOC one) wouldn't come about until 2012.

Could be. I do remember that a few Prime toys were going to be in the Generations line, but I believe those figures were to be Bumblebee, Starscream, and Cliffjumper. Of course, as far as Groove and the Walmart listing goes, I would think that the possibility of making Groove a Legends is pretty slim. No other combiner team is doing this, and you also have the fact that the listing is 100% accurate in describing the aforementioned set of three repaint Protectobots from Universe/Prime molds.

Does this help? I dont really see it. It's more like he has a square head with a very flat edge at top, like all Aerialbots.

The other thing to remember about the early "Generations" line is that it was originally meant to be strictly Deluxe scale figures, God knows why. Granted, the released Grimlock and Soundwav, but back then that was out of the norm.

Except the set would have had a single listing for all 3 figures. Plus, both Protectobot sets are Asian exclusives for Children's Day there, why would Walmart have those brought over so soon?

I don't know. Why would Groove be a legends class? No other combiner is doing that sort of thing with the missing member of their team.
I guess we will have to wait and see, but again, I will not take anything on a Walmart computer as gospel, no doubt.
mtma wrote:I was sketching some thing up here, actually the probable new Bruticus
If they make Onslaught as a Semi with an attached flatbed, it can be easily re-used as Hotspot, even more so due to their transformations being very similar to each other.

Hey Shockblast, just so you know, they are actually totally doing that in this line.
Here's the breakdown for Menasor which was announced the same time all those early pictures came:
Generations Voyager Class Motormaster
Deluxe Class Dragstrip
Deluxe Class Dead End
Deluxe Class Breakdown
Deluxe Class Offroad aka Wildrider
A black Legends class car who forms up the combiner's chest
Here is that legends class car
And here it is forming the chest
So, to respond to your post, they are literally using an extra character as a legends class figure to go with the combiner. And they are doing it with Superion too, in the form of a legends class figure becoming him weapon. So they are both doing that.

Stop giving Hasbro ideas on how to reuse the mold four times!!![]()
I bet the mold they use for Onslaught will be used for Hot Spot. I hope not as I am a fan of new molds, but as far as cost goes it is totally plausible.
I really do like your idea of the SWAT truck for the Protectobots though. That would be awesome!
