Same crap with HTS. Armada Megatron has shown up several times with no restock of regular Megatron. Assuming it was ever in stock to begin with. Why it is not the other way around is beyond me. Obviously no one wants these Armada Megatrons. Why they did not pack these in a case of four and do a 3:1 ratio is beyond me. More of those intelligent decisions from the Hasbro board room.

I dont think it's that no one wants them, I think people want g1 megs more. But yes, they should have thought of this. I'm not sure when it became a good business decision to restrict supply of popular items. Does Hasbro have some sort of deal with a Scalping Cabal?
I have been into transformers since 1984.
While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.
TFCon List: Classics Skywarp, General Optimus, BW Airrazor, Transmetal Tarantulus, Alternity Prime, Fire Convoy

Actually I have no interest in the G1 version of megatron because he is out of scale with the rest of my CHUG collection. Plus he is a stupid tank. However, I am very interested in armada megatron because Its a more obscure homage, even if the scale is off. But ill wait for this to show up in retail since I dont live in BFE.

Hasbro is their own worst friend. With friends like those who needs enemies?

It's anecdotal evidence, but my local TRU has managed to get these in stock a few times, and both figures sell out very quickly. There is demand for Armada Megatron, just not as much as for G1 Megatron.

The scale isn't off for him. Armada Megatron was a BIG guy. Re: Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Leader Class Figures Thread
Only a few people want the Armada version - it's the G1 version that people really want. Sold out everywhere, that one is. The reason? I think it's that butt-ugly head. If they'd given the Armada deco a G1 head, and G2 paint, I think it would be selling much better....

The case assortment makes perfect sense to me.
A lot of people who either got back into Transformers as young adults, or who got into Transformers the first time as kids, did so via Armada/Energon/Cybertron. I think there's definite appeal for that figure, especially since the 'G1' deco is really IDW Megatron, which just may have less appeal than a tradition gun Megatron.
Plus, we'll probably see a case revision in the near future. It's happened before. I'm not too worried yet - patience has on average paid off for me.

The larger the figures, the fewer there are per case due to shipping requirements. Leaders are a case of 2, and that's not changing.

Just bought both Leader Megatrons from my local TRU this morning. I almost missed them entirely, as they were down on the bottom shelf (foot level). Glad I picked them up, as they look great in person. Sorry to TFSource, but I've canceled my stacked pre-order. Nothing beats instant gratification!

Out of the two I'd rather get the G1 version. That 'Armada' version is just a whole pile of bleh, rather have the original Armada version.

I would have agreed with you a couple months ago, but after seeing it in person I think it's a wonderful looking character.
I wish IDW would pull a "Gigatron" and put him in the current fiction.

You can arrange the left arm and fusion canon such that it looks like the canon is coming off his hip instead of his arm for Armada Megatron. Let him borrow CW Dragstrip's short sword and give him a Minicon, and he's ready to go as a "Classics" version of his Armada self.

That's what he's talking about. I misread it on my tiny phone screen as "put" a Gigatron. My mistake!

Went in search of G1 Megatron and couldn't find him. Was putting a lot of hope in Walmart and no luck. Really wish Target would've stocked these leaders.

Makes sense. I saw like 7 of this guy at Toys R Us today. No g1 Megs. It's not that it's a bad figure but I can't see myself spending almost 50 bones on this guy right now.

My local Walmart had both the Armada and G1 Megatrons on the shelf this past weekend. I avoided buying them since I preordered the G1 Megatron on HTS for $36 vs $45+tax. I like the larger size of the Leader over the Voyager. Plus, the G1 color scheme vs ...whatever they were going for with the Voyager just looks better. Not getting CW Prime, though. Keeping my original Classics Prime.

Re: Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Leader Class Figures Thread
I got the G1 Style Megatron and although he is a Great figure, he is just too darn tall stood with the other decepticons I have.
I really want to get the Armada Megatron, but I have feeling that due to the over populated amount in stores, most places will discount him after a few months.
My main issue with the Megatron figure in general is how he stands. He either leans forward where is towers over my other cons, or he leans a little backwards depending on how you place his legs.
I don't know if this is something that will be corrected on the Takara version or not though.

I just had a thought on how I am going to make G1 Megatron have symbols that can be changed around. I am going to take an Autobot and Decepticon symbol from Contruct-Bots, cut the peg off and glue a magnet in it to be flush with the back. Then I am going to put a strip of metal on the inside of the chest piece to attach it to. It should allow it to be put in place in both the robot and vehicle mode. Beats a stupid decal.
