...shame though there's such a potential there for a Wheelie remold.

I don't think there's too much chance of that happening. From what people were saying at Toy Fair he's pretty tiny, like a Micromaster or Minicon. They wouldn't be able to sell the Minimus mold on its own as Wheelie. If/when they do another Wheelie I'm sure it'll be a Legends figure.

Too bad character wise in the IDW comics, he's long gone. From what I hear, the latest is just as good (the way he tortured Tailgate with history ) but will the "original" ever return? Sure it's now just a suit but, I'm kind of attached to the original "old friend" of Optimus.

I really like what James Roberts has done with Ultra Magnus. It's a nice spin on the "robot inside another robot" thing that UM has always had going, and which the original cartoon and comic saw fit to ignore.

Although the original Ultra Magnus is apparently long dead, the current UM still fulfills the original's role. He may not be the same Magnus that knew Optimus in the early days of the war, but from all accounts he has been playing the role longer than anyone else. So, Minimus Ambus is still the "Ultra Magnus" that Optimus has known the longest.

why are the ratchet joints on these new figures so terrible?

i mean.. leader prime, grimlock, megatron.. voyager brainstorm, silverbolt.. etc.

you either need to pose the arms (sometimes) and legs (sometimes) unnaturally close to the body, or unnaturally away from the body.

i don't understand it. why do they insist on ruining already cheapened figures with these joints? maybe they figured.. "okay, the molds themselves LOOK pretty good.. lets make it so that you can't pose them naturally".. it just doesn't make any sense to me. how is something like this missed? consistently.

well, i guess they don't care, especially considering they're still giving gorilla arms to figures.

I think in case of the combiner wars figures, I figure the joints are like that for stability. It's also figure economy, basic resource prices go up but they can't raise prices too high too quick, so in order to keep their profit margin, they change what the figures are designed and their materials, so they cost less.

We may not like it but hasbro are a corporate entity, profit is their end goal.

I’m so glad the TCC FINALLY retired the Classics mold, good grief... but now with the legends mold it’s like ugh, can we have something else now that’s not so repetitive please? JMO

Amen. If not for this being Thundercracker and in his 2009 ongoing body, this toy hold far less appeal to me.

I find myself torn: The Seekers were always supposed to be Army-Builders, and I like having them, but I never could sign up for TFSS3, and now while I want NaCelle for the collection, its a collection that's sitting in a storage unit, and I don't forsee dragging out for the limited space I have right now. And of an alt mode that's 3 generations behind now. I wouldn't mind the Seeker 6 (or the main 3 at least) getting overdone in F22s,

Great, now I want TFCC to come out with a seeker who's upset and dismissive because he's the last of a bodytype before the chassis was replaced. He was too early to get the new body, and too late to be anything but the shadow cast by Greater Bots. Like Acid Storm, and Thundercracker.

I think that's the third-party Legends-scaled Scourge. Who's making them, I don't remember, but I think they're also doing equally-sized versions of Cyclonus and Galvatron, who definitely takes his cues from Mania King.

The vehicle mode looks great, but the bot mode is lacking. It would have been nice to put some paint apps on the underside of the wings, for one. That wouldn't ruin the look of the alt mode at all. Heck, if it's too hard to fill in all of that gridwork with red paint, they could have gone for the G1 red and silver stripes on the outer wings instead. The thrusters on the back could have painted gray/silver to better approximate the shoulder intakes in bot mode, which are unfortunately missing. That would change up the vehicle mode a bit, since the thrusters are black, but it would have been an acceptable compromise to me. Finally, a retool for the null rays would have been nice. They look a little clunky as is. Maybe they couldn't do this for logistical reasons, but it would have made more sense to me to cut out the excess guns to save on plastic costs and use the savings for a more detailed paint deco. Not bad, but far from perfect.

Works so much better as Thundercracker than Jetfire. Tempted to off-load Jetfire and get Thundercracker to represent the mold in the collection.
