I guess we were hoping for too much when we though Hasbro could be smart enough to release both Age of Extinction and classics-styled figures under the Generations line at the same time. Oh well, saves me money for several months at least. I can put all that savings into an MP Ultra Magnus fund.

That Bot wrote:To all ye of little faith, I'd like to remind you that we are not the primary buying audience of Transformers, and we should yield to the child audience during peak periods like this. Hasbro will try to put the figures out once the movie line calms down. Until then, if you are not a fan of movie toys, explore other options. Enjoy some of the figures you already own. See if you can find an older figure you missed out on somewhere. Buy some third party stuff, or some Masterpiece stuff. Try a different toyline. Buy some Kreons. There's a wealth of things you can do while you wait six months or so for Hasbro to be able to sell retailers on the next Generations figures, so just be patient.

Sure, because of what Hasbro owes you. It couldn't have been necessary for business, logistical, production or other reasons, it's because they're out to get you. It couldn't be disappointing to the designers who pored over the design of the toys, looking at probably every fictional rendition of each character trying to create the right look, or to Hasbro itself for having invested the money, time and resources and not being able to realise that investment yet, or indeed for Hasbro to have an opportunity to take your money right now. No, it's just about you and what you want, nay, expect, and that Hasbro did this deliberately, to you, by not releasing a set of toys just yet.
Yes, it's disappointing, but the level of entitlement - and maturity - here in this thread is at Kardashian level.
Hasbro isn't going anywhere. So if you really mean it, and you aren't just posing, posturing, and puffing out your chest, give up Transformers and get rid of your figures. That'll learn them. You're all upset and angry and everything, but you won't actually do anything about it. So, how about you skip right to the end part where your minor little tantrum has blown over and turned into acceptance?

By all means, change hobbies. You won't be missed.

I was about to ask that, but they should still be scheduled later, until after the initial movie craze, like the rest of the postponed, delayed and held back figures. >:oP

I figured as much. Now lets see if the other shoe is going to drop.
The Generations legends line and the Voyagers. Because I can't see them sharing shelf space with AOE stuff with the Deluxes being cancelled.

Again, after the initial movie craze. We haven't had any clues, hints or allusions to them being released at an earlier date.

Yeah, it's just the waves that canceled, not the figures within the waves.Va'al wrote:I'm going to join JelZe's campaign.
DELAYED, not cancelled.

i mean.. how long ahead of time is this crap planned out?.. something like this should NEVER happen, yet it seems to happen OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. i mean, seriously, they can't look at trends?.. voyager rhinox was supposed to be out much earlier this year, yet rather than doing that, they decided to throw a voyager revision wave in and ruin everything

These things are planned out a long time in advance. But the situation on the ground is constantly changing. That's just the reality sometimes. And if you can't understand that Hasbro wants to make money as much as we want the figures, and that they are not the only folks making decisions along the supply chain, I don't know what to tell you.TimothyR wrote:so, since you don't think it's a big deal.. and feel the need to belittle other people because they do, maybe you should get out of this fan base rather than the people who are upset about this.
Yes, the patient folks with complex understandings of business realities should get out of the hobby... not the petulant time bombs that throw fits every time a piece of disappointing news hits the fandom. Great. >:oPTimothyR wrote:this is an awful trend hasbro has gotten into.. and there are easy solutions.. which is probably why people are angry.
By all means. What are the "easy solutions?"TimothyR wrote:why can't people get it through their heads that this is ridiculous?.. i'm glad we don't live in a world where everyone has to be happy/content with everything.
I'm glad I live in a world where at least some folks understand that throwing a hissy fit isn't going to solve anything.TimothyR wrote:how is it that stuff like this RARELY happens with takara when it comes to transformers?.. why is that? they never seem to have to cancel a bunch of figures like hasbro does..

These newer waves were cancelled, but the figures were not. They'll be released eventually. Retailers are making room for the movie toys. Guess what line makes the most money, and gives Hasbro the funds to give collectors Generations figures? You guessed it. The movie line.
Takara releases the same figures... so YES, they have had to deal with smaller figures, too. Plus, have you noticed that Hasbro and Takara release figures on different schedules? I don't see Takara's Skids anywhere. Or Dreadwing. Or Doubledealer. That's been the case for a long time. But they'll probably see those figures eventually. Just like we'll probably see the figures in the cancelled waves once the movie craze dies down.TimothyR wrote:and i'm not going to change hobbies because i love this hobby.. which is EXACTLY the reason people are so irked by this.
For someone who loves the hobby, you seem to have very little understanding, or desire to understand, WHY something like this might happen. You just seem to want to pull a Bay:
