The ROTF and DOTM lines were filled with several non-Paramount toys. The only thing that kept all of them from being non-movie toys were their bios and packaging.Flashwave wrote:I don't see it happening, bu it would largely fix the problem. Being that this is movie stuff, can Hasbro even do that, since a third party is involved in the mix (Paramount)? Seems to me like Paramount's involvement is why the movie modls don't show up in the Generations Repaints lines so would it work the other way? And also there's quite a bit of crap in the AOE lines as it is, is there even room for a half-dozen more figures?

It's not that simple. $1 to make, sure, but logistics costs (shipping, warehousing, more shipping,) make it an 8-10 profit, not 14.

And the 2007 movie line had those Walmart exclusive Cybertron and Classics redecos that were intended for Classics/Universe, but were given to Walmart in the Movie line instead.

Or are the deluxe AOE toys considered Generations and that's how the line is continuing? Also we can no longer say the line is primarily aimed at kids since Hasbro again at Toy Fair mentioned the 18+ market, for the first time mind you.

Technically speaking, the Deluxe and Voyager Classes are considered Generations Series M4 (Movie 4), with an age set to 8+ instead of 3+ or 5+. As stated before, it's likely that after the first two waves have hit (which should cover everyone in the movie), the regular Generations will resume.
What actually is going on I think, is that one or two release dates will be skipped in favor of the movie, and figures in both the canceled assortments and the future ones will be either be shuffled around, or, keeping in mind figures being carried over into later waves, left as is.
And please don't mention 18+ in a toy forum ever again...

I believe 18+ is to some countries what X/XXX is to Americans. It's notice of adult entertainment.

No no no, adult entertainment. As in the "bow chicka bow wow" kind of entertainment.
