Yeagh, it's an oddity but my logic which is usually backwards makes it Earthrise, unless I look at it with my left eye, then it's selects.

I still wonder what's the point of including an oversized Optimus Prime gun. The Earthrise figure is too small to be wielding that thing. What were they thinking?

I know a lot of people were not thrilled about Volcanicus being remade but I'm personally stoked. I look at the few Seacons I have and then I look at the Terrorcons and I can see and feel the improvements. I expect God Neptune to be better than my current PotP combiners and I also expect the same with the new Volcanicus.

I want to like the Takara Volcanicus, but there really just isn't enough new or different to make me want to pre-order this and then sell off my PotP ones, especially since Slag and Grimlok would only really be used as a limb/torso once the SS86 figures of them come out.

If this was released back near PotP or slightly afterwards, I would have jumped all over this. But with likely even better versions of 2 of the 5 coming for sure, their timing is just bad with this set.

None is the "best". It's all a matter of personal preference.

Still, the new set is very worth it for those who missed the original PotP version and don't want any knock off.

I can understand that feeling. I guess for me it is the fact that Volcanicus will be Volcanicus, and if I get the SS Dinobots they will be displayed differently.

Exactly. Selects Volcanicus will be in gestalt mode most of the time, while the individual Dinobots will be represented with different figures on my display shelves in the not too distant future, provided that we are not just getting Grimlock and Slag in the Studio Series line. It's not too different from having Grand Convoy on my shelf, along with much better figures in robot mode to represent each individual team member.

I know a lot of people are looking at this new Selects Dinobot set and thinking that it's just small changes. I actually have to agree, but at the same time, it highlights that they did a pretty good job the first time around. All that really changed for the most part was giving them all blue eyes, making the gold color brighter, and "dumbing down" the tampographs. It is nice to have Slag and Swoop with animation accurate head colors too.

It looks like Grimlock's new guns can double as stabilizing heel extensions for gestalt mode, so that's a nice touch.

One of those guns is literally the only part of Volcanicus that I care about, so I kind of resent that. I was hoping we might see some hit eBay. As it stands, I guess I'll just wait to see what SS Grimlock comes with.

As someone who absolutely adored the UW sets, this is just a matter of being too late. During CW I purposely waited for each announcement of the next UW, knowing that I would prefer it over the Hasbro version (or if they were different enough as in the case of Computron, I got both).

I remember, despite the rumors of "Brand Unification" waiting on TT announcements of how they were going to release PotP figures, it was approximately 3 months after the first news dropped about PotP in the U.S. that TT made their reveals. Jazz being by himself was *odd* and cast doubt, but when the Dinobots were shown to be individual releases, that's when all hope went down the tubes, and fans decided to settle for the Hasbro versions since there was no difference.

I know this is impossible because of hindsight, but if you had told me in 2018, that TT would release a Volcancus set in 2021, "I" would have waited. But there was no indication until this reveal that it was ever even possible. TT hasn't released a lot of Selects, but they had all been up until this time heavy retools of existing toys to make NEW characters not previously released. There were so many possibilites, and this is just so unlike TT, it was a major letdown despite the perceived improvements to the set.

Straight up recolors without retooling still leaves the door open for Guard City and battle Gaia I Guess... (I know some keep saying G2 Defensor, which I would love as well, but that would be no doubt a Hasbro initiative rather than TT).

But I just hope TT doesn't go back and do Predaking, Abominus etc... what a waste that would be, even with improved colors/accessories.

Some photos of Hubcap. He's a good mold, but for some reason having him in hand, he's not as good as Cliffjumper, doesn't have the same bounce. Again like the mold, but the rest of the package isn't as exciting as it should've been for me

I have to say that Hasbro Pulse has really stepped up their shipping game. I got the two selects figures over the last couple of days and they were packed well in a proper box. I'm very pleased and might order more from them in the future.

Everything I've ever ordered from Pulse has always come in a box and pretty well packed. I've never had any problems before on the shipments or how the items arrive. About my only complaint is it takes them about a week to ship something once they charge you, but that is pretty minor.

Their boxes are also a good size for shipping out anything you might sell off on ebay.

Everything I've ever ordered from Pulse has been well packed, similar to BBTS. It's just because I am on the west coast it takes far longer than it should. My drone shipped Tuesday, but is not expected to arrive until October 1. Because I am not a "special member" or anything I dont get free shipping, so you think because I'm getting charged like $8 for shipping, they can do better than FedEx Ground. So while I'm sure the product and packaging will be fine, Unfortunately there's no way i am aware of to rate their overall customer service. This is why I've pretty much canceled all my orders from them, except what I can ONLY get through them (This Drone and God Neptune), other retailers have gotten their items sooner, and shipped faster than Pulse.

I would clarify on this, for regular releases (and TT Selects), yes Pulse is usually last to ship. For Hasbro selects, however it is usually the other way around with Pulse shipping out first in most cases.

Lol, seriously, especially lately as Rotorstorm, Hubcap, and the Centurion drone have all shipped a month before they were expected. Who knows when BBTS or TFSource will get their stock of these itmes. But on the other end, ER items like Arcee from Pulse keep getting pushed back while they are already found in the wild.

The Drone is not available through BBTS or TFSource that I am aware of. It's expected release was October. I ordered mine early enough to get the mistake price of $19.99, but am not getting it Until October 1st, so no, it's not early for me. Just normal release. Also I recall many people getting Greasepit and Exhaust even before Pulse revealed them.

Interesting, that is a great price for those that are looking, but also, those are only the first 2. I remember when new initially broke BBTS had a short listing on these two for literally minuets before it was taken down, then they became Pulse exclusives in the U.S.. I wonder if this is just because there was more production of the first two? If we see more of the other 4, that will definitely be a great opportunity for any who missed out.

Okay, good to know. I just checked to see when it should be shipping and freaked out cause Pulse has him shipping less than 2 weeks before God Neptune should be shipping out and almost $300 in that small of a time span would be an absoluete nightmare
