I like it. I was in either way, but I like it.
Is it just me or is anyone else wondering how far the aftermarket prices on the Masterpieces will drop?
I don't see how. If we are talking about Wheeljack, that MP is still the best WJ out there. Plus MP is a different scale entirely and they have licensed alt modes.
Sabrblade wrote:See my illustration above that shows what I mean. It needed to not only be rounded, but also smaller, which would place it above the waist rather than down in front of it.Emerje wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Yet another reason the windshield shouldn't have been squared off on the bottom.Gauntlet101010 wrote:Wow, that Wheeljack looks really ... not good. The blue completely overwhelms the figure.
It's not hard to figure out, if they left it rounded it would sit far below his waist and interfere with the swivel. This is more of a compromise since it allows full articulation and it pulls the bottom of the windshield up nearly as high as it is in the cartoon even if it means changing the shape.

Even though I prefer the opaque windows I do wish they wouldn't use that bright blue. The cartoon used the bright blue sparingly, usually going for a pale blue.

For the 35th anniversary, Hasbro repainted some Siege figures with cell shading, offered through Walmart. I'm not sure what the overall consensus was. If they were liked or not? I don't really mind either way. I've just seen some other companies try to do it was comic book based characters (Like Batman for instance) and the fans of those lines seem pretty negative towards it.

The problem with those release were that they cell shaded the whole figures, not just the windows.
Oh, I didn't like it back then either. I just wasn't as vocal about it at the time.Randomhero wrote:I feel like i traveled back to 2020 when wheeljack was first shown when everyone whined and complained about his windshield and now everyone is acting like this is the first time they’re seeing it.

Considering how you live on the message boards and always have something to say about anything and everything I highly doubt you weren’t vocal about it 4 years ago.

Cant wait for sunstreaker where everyone pretends it’s the first time theyre seeing his windshield on his chest…or this engine gun…or his little chinstrap/goatee.

Sowndwave76 wrote:I don’t really like the look of the bottom of the torso that meets the waist being curved as if his lower torso is all glass. That looks awkward.
That’s also not how it looked in the animation.
Like I said, the bottom of the torso is fine being squared-off…. The issue is that the windshield should have only been a portion of that part. The character model has the windshield relatively short; all they had to do was cut a curved line into the torso— above the line have the light blue paint; below the line, leave it white plastic. It’s that simple.
As I said before, even if they didn’t want to mess with making the lower torso angled, what I described above is way better than what we’re getting.
Which photoshop?Emerje wrote:The other thing is that photo shop above also stretched him out so the roof and windshield don't look too big, butt hat would have made for an oddly long car mode.

The one with all of the variations lined up.

Yeah, that's not a photoshop. Those are ankle pieces in addition to the windshield variants.TF-fan kev777 wrote:Emerje wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Which photoshop?Emerje wrote:The other thing is that photo shop above also stretched him out so the roof and windshield don't look too big, butt hat would have made for an oddly long car mode.

I don't think they are stretched. The 3d print files also appear to include ankle parts that increase his height.
This is a full STL pack pack for a 3D printed parts to improve the look of Earthrise wheeljack.
It makes him taller and gives him a new chest. You can modify the chest and heels with no damage to the figure, you just need to push out one pin.
To get the full legs extension you will need to cut out a small part of the plastic on the feet.
