(Makes me a little more hopeful for Takara-ver. Computron and G2 Defensor (The Inferno with Random-limbs is not good enough.))
I think he meant a Hasbro Release of UW-08.... It's a nice thought, but doubtful (Glad I have mine...). I think a G2 Defensor is more likely, but still doubtful as well.
Sentinel_Primal wrote:$80's a bit much... But, this does give me more hope for other figures being released through Hasbro. Though, what does this mean for BigBadToyStore? Cause aren't they normally are the distributor for TakaraTomy Mall exclusives?

Guess we'll have to wait and see... And I REALLY hope that it is Snaptrap and that we're getting Piranacon! He is one of my favorite combiners, but I'm worried they'll take away the fun of having the Targetmaster mode for all the limbs by making one of them a legends class figure, or that the joints won't be strong enough for the combined mode to hold the weapon. And I wonder if they'd still have the Enigma slot
The select line is online exclusive regardless, for the life of me i dont understand what difference it makes if its from Hasbro or Takara. Its not like you'd find any of these at target.

It will be the same as the case with MP 44 right now.

BBTS import: https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/ ... ails/84183
Almost the same price either way, hence why while everyone wanted Star Convoy from Hasbro Pulse, in the end it wont make a difference. You probably end up paying more due to not having access to a pile of loot system to save on shipping.

Except, if you are in the US and already have Hasbro Pulse Premium for 2019 from ordering before Feb 24th, then it would be the cheapest option, since shipping is already covered.
Fancy words, ScottyPScottyP wrote:Do you think this is a bellwether for more Takara Tomy Mall exclusives being released via Hasbro Pulse, or does that idea set off your wishful thinking alarm?
O.Supreme wrote:...Some are exclusive, and some aren't. Also I'm thinking 3rd party sites such as BBTS, TF Source etc... will probably charge closer to $90 for Star Convoy
Compare Combat Hero Megatron at $32.99 from TFSource & BBTS vs. $29.99 from Hasbro Pulse. Still, I know that isn't much of a difference, but the bigger the toys, the more likely the price gap. Still, for most I guess it will come down what is the best deal after Taxes & Shipping, depending on location.

Its no longer a takara exclusive, and you are still stuck with a higher price tag. As I said, it makes no difference.

In Japan, Star Convoy is a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive, so he probably won't be on Amazon Japan (unless a seller puts one on there but likely for a higher price).Ironhidensh wrote:Man, I really want this figure, but I don't know if I $80 want him..... No "Star Optimus Prime", no "Star Prime", no nothing. Just straight up "Star Convoy", keeping the Japanese "Convoy" name as is.
I think this might be the first time this have ever happened for a Hasbro release done outside of Fun Pub.

The TR "Powermaster" Prime/Legends Super Ginrai mold seems like it could have been retooled into a decent Star Convoy, even if they couldn't make the base mode look like the original's. I'm kinda disappointed they didn't do that.
I dont see how that could work any better. TR PMOP has the front of the truck become part of the chest which doesnt work with star convoy who has a long nose truck cab.
While I was around back then, I wasn't an active participant since I didn't know of it until afterward. But having read up on some of it, let's just say that nothing of value came out of that ginormous waste of time.Wireless_Phantom wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Something else of notice here is how this TakaraTomy figure is being officially distributed in America by Hasbro via their new official online venue, and yet they make zero attempts to give him a more Western/Hasbro/Anglicized/etc. name.

As someone who is too young to remember that war, who actually won?
