Erh.....
Look like it's going to be a pass.
I'm not feeling paying 100$+ for a standard Voyager.
Out of curiosity, wouldn't he retail the same as Turtler? How much would he cost you?

Many Select figures are on sale at Canadian Toys R Us. But not all and the selection is pretty random. Only deluxes so far.
Translating that banner reveals that it is referring to the Generations Selects line itself in general (rather than specifically the items seen on display above the banner), in that it describes the Selects line as an "Exclusive Brand" managed by TakaraTomy and Hasbro. After all, MP Lio Convoy is also in that booth, but he's a mass retail Masterpiece figure not an exclusive Selects figure.Emerje wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Hasbro had no hand in this figure, just like Star Convoy and the Seacons.-Kanrabat- wrote:Will this be a Takara exclusive or will it find itself at Toys R Us and such at some point?
Not according to Takara Tomy who had a big sign up at Wonder Festival stating they're a joint project with Hasbro.

The banner just says " Generations Selects: Exclusive Brand managed by TakaraTomy and Hasbro." That's all.Emerje wrote:They've never used that sign before and only used it on a display containing the Seacons. There's no reason to mention Hasbro at a time when they weren't displaying any of the Hasbro initiated figures unless Hasbro had some sort of involvement with the Seacons as well.
I'm pretty sure Lio is only in the case as a joke because of his relationship to God Neptune. By this point he was already released and there was no reason to have him at the event, certainly not in the Selects case.

Wish the hand connection was stronger, doesn't take much to make the hand, and Overbite with it, to fall off, but everything else is great!
Sorry about the rotated picture, don't know how to fix it!

is the connection with the sword tips strong? I tried to see how they mount to turtlers sword, but couldn't figure it out

I know what it says, but why say it at all on a Japanese display at a Japanese event that doesn't include any of the Hasbro figures if Hasbro didn't have some sort of involvement in what's in the display? It's just a very strange time to bring it up and there's no reason for Japanese fans to care since so few of Hasbro's Selects figures have actually been sold in Japan.

Because Hasbro and Takara are business partners who run the Transformers brand together and it's only sensibly courteous and formal for the culturally-Japanese Takara to acknowledge Hasbro's management of a toyline that the two companies oversee together.Emerje wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The banner just says " Generations Selects: Exclusive Brand managed by TakaraTomy and Hasbro." They are, at least for me. They have little notches inside the bottom and there are two tab-like parts on the tip of the sword and they encase around that!
Sabrblade wrote:The bizarre thing isn't their mentioning Hasbro in that banner, it's their using that particular banner for the a display that only partially relates to the subject of said banner, being the Generations Selects line when there are more than just Selects figures in that booth. It would have made more sense for that banner to be used for a booth showing multiple Selects figures from both companies, but instead it is used for a booth showing only Takara-original molds/remolds and ones that aren't just Selects figures. That's what's weird about it.

Yeah the sword was a bit tricky for me also especially since it isn't in the instructions, but you can partially assemble it even if you only have the first 4. Just get a good clear pic of the sword and you can figure it out.
C'mon TF Source.... hopefully soon they get the last 2 soon
