Maybe the "check TFWiki" thing implied that this set would confuse the casuals who don't know about Shattered Glass.

Possibly. Probably.
But I would think MP-10SG would reach the sight of 'casual' fans who would also be into TF Selects?

Re: Transformers Generations SELECTS Series Discussion
Shattered Glass is still a thing!?
Prime I expected, actually. Because they're aping the MP line. But not Ratchet at all. I do kinda dig the light blue on white in robot mode, but MAN those feet in vehicle mode ... it's even worse.
I wish they'd focus a bit in regards to Selects. If they want Diaclone repaints, go all-in. G2? Just go for it. But it'd be nice if they decided to FOCUS.

Well, I saw it. And I'm not into Shattered Glass.

But my point is, if people are 'casual' enough to be into Generations SELECTS (which is an oxymoron), then they would likely know of the existence of Shattered Glass MP-10. I wasn't saying they all owned it.

Also, here's a nice middle finger to Fun Pub:
The Deluxe Class Shattered Glass Ratchet and Voyager Class Shattered Glass Optimus Prime figures are inspired by the Shattered Glass comics created in partnership with IDW

One other thing to note, and it's been said before but I want to say it again: I am really appreciating how Selects is basically affordable to all Botcon/TFCC stuff. I'm happy with the range, getting some Diaclone, some SG, some G2, etc. in there. I like the lack of focus, it's giving something for everyone.

90% agree here, but to a certain extent. It's true for Americans. But outside the USA, it's not that evident.

I appreciate the range, but it'd be nice to know if something's a one-off or if they're doing more or what. It helps to know if it's something to invest some time in.
I'd bet SG if just a one-off like the MPs. But if it's not and it's something I like ... it'd be nice to know in advance.

Although I might use these guys as their proper SG selves occasionally when paired standalone, I'm going to repurpose these 2 as different non-sg characters.
SG Prime will be my Toxitron stand-in for now since I don't have that character in my proper collection.
SG Ratchet will either be a Generic Autobot/Autotrooper or one of the following characters from Transformers Universe as a G1-version. (even if the paint jobs don't match up although I think these guys had alternative skins, maybe one of those fit SG Ratchet's colors)

Hell yeah, SG Prime, now I can stop being annoyed at the Dead Prime's misleading official name. And bonus Toothpaste Ratchet, sure, why not. I need to come up with suitably evil names for them both now, but I'll think of something. Preordered.
....wait.
This is a second Ratchet, isn't it? A Selects Ratchet as opposed to the GO one, and sold in a pack that makes it be Leader priced...
A Selects "Leader" Ratchet...

Well the Shattered Glass Prime is everything I could've hoped for (except an appropriately colored energon axe). The Ratchet, not so much. The robot mode looks neat, but I'm really not feeling the ambulance mode at all. This is a BIG maybe for me. I'll have to think about it.
This transforming robot is in no way shape or form Optimus Prime

I'm totally into this release for two reasons: 1) I love SG and have been slowing collecting figures I need for it, and 2) This'll save me $100 because I won't have to get the SGMP10, plus I get a Ratchet!

I was gonna point that out too, but you beat me to the punch.
These are an easy pass for me. I was never into Shattered Glass. I never got the TFCC or BotCon figures based on the Fun Publications stories. There is no need to start now. I don't think there has been an SG Ratchet figure before, but instead of doing that now, they could have instead given us a "Heroic Decepticon Soundwave" with that same mold and color scheme, with a different head, minus the light bar. Perhaps also include a Micromaster SG Ravage and SG Laserbeak for good measure?

According to the wiki there was a SG Ratchet as part of a customization class as an option.
Soundwave has had a G1 eHobby toy with Blaster and a Botcon one based off Universe Ironhide. If you like you can count the iPod coloured Label Soundwave too since he was based off that.

Just noticed that Ratchet's deco is slightly off. His forehead crest should be green, and his hands should be red.

This is what I was hoping for when I first saw the pictures. To me the SG van Soundwave is the more iconic version, but I'm sure Hasbro is thinking Voyager Earth Soundwave if they do more of these. Personally what I really want to see them do is Siege Seeker mold in Jetfire colors for SG Starscream.
