Transformers HOF 2011: And the winner is...

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

Transformers HOF 2011: And the winner is...

Postby First Gen » Sun Jun 05, 2011 12:10 am

Motto: "Til All Are One."
Weapon: Dual Laser Cannon
The votes have been tallied and the verdict cast. The newest inductee into the Transformers Hall of
Fame has been named.

Though many names were mentioned and, by all means deserve the coveted induction, only one can claim the title of Hall of Famer. Your winner, Seibertronians, is WASPINATOR.

Voted for him like 10 times.

(if it were rigged, Grimlock would have won)

Just because us Waspy voters weren't making such a big fuss doesn't at all mean we weren't voting.

Would rather Erector won...and I woulda thought him winning was kinda sad. I was pissed when they said Waspinator. They need to start putting more Beast Wars characters in the voting to start splitting those votes as well. You figure Jazz, Grimlock, and Shockwave are all splitting votes, then the Ross Perot votes going to Erector, meanwhile all the Least Wars fans are putting their collective voice to a single cause. And that's how an unworthy Waspinator gets voted in...

This is really gonna stink when they 86 the HOF in another year or two when the movie hype dies down and we look back and see just WHO got in.

I lol'd at Aaron Archer's quote afterwards "We at Hasbro take our Transformers very seriously, and we hope in the future you will too."

Good for Waspy, though I was hoping for Grimlock.

Is that the exact quote? If it is it just made my eyebrow raise with the thought that something funny is going on. I think we need some transparency as to the number of votes and who counts them.

Awesome. Another Beast Wars character makes it in before three iconic G1 characters. Not to mention now we will have to endure fans campaigning for Erector every year until he wins. Kinda wish he would have won just to get it over with so we could move on.

I don't think it was rigged--I voted for Waspinator, personally, because I enjoyed the character the most out of those nominated, and Beast Wars was my favorite of the Transformer cartoon series.

And, just for reference, yes, I am someone who grew up with the original G1 cast.

That said... it's just for fun, guys. Grimlock, Jazz, Shockwave... they get lots of love already with multiple toys and homages. Let's not take things too seriously.

As for the HOF event itself...it was definitely entertaining, but there's really no reason I can see for them charging $45 bucks for it. Keep the stupid 3D masks and snacks and make it a free event (like it was last year when It included dinner.)

I believe it was an insult.

G1 guys, you must realize that your part of Transformers was only the first 5 years of a 25 year franchise. There are large amounts of Beast Wars fans, tons of Armada fans, a whole load of Animated fans, and even some Energon fans (for reasons I don't know but to each his own). Don't dismiss us as a small portion of your peers. G1 doesn't mean that much to a lot of Transformers fans. You are part of a large and diverse community. You are going to have to share.

I was pulling for Grimlock but Waspinator was my 2nd pick and im glad to see another Beast Wars character inducted. But it was kinda unfair since there was only 1 BW guy in the running so all the BW fans voted for him where as the G1 fans were split. So now thats 2 Scott McNeil characters in the HOF, awesome.

It was pretty damn close to his wording.

And despite the good words and phrases, I'm pretty damn sure that the Erector Campaign was an attempt to troll the fandom and Hasbro. It failed, we got a decent chuckle, let's move on.
