I think Waspinator is a disappointment, but honestly, after the dissapointment that is the 2011 BotCon, I could care less.

I'm sure some people liked the toys, but I just have a problem with any combiner set that doesn't combine. The convention exclusives were all over-priced ($89, $89, $92) and the Hall of Fame event was a complete joke. Somebody explain why it is that I paid $45 for a $10 mask and a bag of advertising material. The dealer room was pretty disappointing this year and most of the toys were overpriced. $50 for a Warpath that I can still find in stores?!??! Really?!?! BotCon has jumped the shark. It has gone from a fun event where you could meet with other fans from around the world and get some cool toys at the same time.

After this year, it has become pretty clear the FunPub is more about making money than they are about the fans. After playing to the fans curiosity, promising us a not-to-be missed evening, and charging us $45, they gave us nothing. Had they advertised the night as what it was, no one would have bought tickets. I won't be back next year.

I'm surprised Waspinator won. I was expecting my fellow Decepticon, Shockwave, but I did however vote for Waspinator. I love you, Wazzzzpinator! :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE:

I don't think its fair to say Beast Wars didn't do anything for the franchise; rewatching these episodes, they discuss some pretty serious things, as well as teach some valuable lessons from even a real life Soldiers POV (learning as much of your surroundings to take advantage of in battle). Beast wars did take things to a more serious level coz, I think like TF: Prime, its trying to appeal to the younger as well as the older fanbase.

As for Steven Spielberg, I guess he made a bad call with picking Michael bay, since he picked someone who doesn't even like G1. How can you not like, or atleast respect G1, and then go on to make a movie with G1 characters? okay, the cartoons were lame for a lot of people, but the bot character designs, the central themes, AND their ongoing evolutions in everything that came after are prevalent. Maybe I just didn't want the movies even involved in the HOF coz summer blockbuster movies on this scale are so much more about the money grab and less about the subject matter.

Hasbro does release that this is only going to make the push for Erector next year only that much stronger right?

They really should just let him win so we won't have to deal with it anymore.

Also, I really want a BW Erector figure now A beaver figure would be epic!

Apparently Aron Archer said they would only seriously consider A-C Transformers going forward and not entries like Erector.

Then why even have Erector on the poll if they weren't going to pick him? This just leads me to believe that he did in fact win.

This is going to basically curse the HoF until Erector wins.

I was thinking the same thing too. I doubt even if people vote for him they'll include him on the list. Ah well, such is life.

While I was a little surprised that it was Waspinator that won, I can understand why as I think he did his job of comic relief quick well. The audience at the HoF also seemed to cheered and clapped the most both during candidate footage and winner footage.

Warpath for $50 really? I got mine on Friday afternoon for only $20. I had to ask the dealer for it because he did not unpack them yet. But he had a whole box of them. I bought it at the convention because I never seen it in store.

Sorry, is my opinion not allowed to be shared on this forum? Plus I completely disagree, He just had the idea and decided to pursue it (It's like awarding Bill Gates for allowing messenger to work on xbox live). I'd first give credit to the concept artists, CG animators and modellers and the entire crew of the special effects team before I give HIM credit. You get the hell over people having varying opinions.

Wait ... did you just tell me to respect your opinion while telling me to shut up about mine?

Whatever mate. The whole hating Bay thing, old and boring. He's in the Hall of Fame. That's fact, accept it.

And he's still done more for TF's than you or I have.

So, he directed 3 films, which gave us wrecking ball testicles on Devastator, doggy domination, Sam's Mom high on pot brownies, John Tuturo's ass, and the Leo character. And then he has no qualms about voicing his disdain and disgust for the fanbase, let alone he originally wanted nothing to do with the Transformers cuz it was a "stupid toy movie". Yeah, he totally deserved it. Gotta agree with Mindvvipe on this, so many more deserve this than Mike Bay. And hell, I agree with you Burn, what about Don Murphy, he got this ball rollin'. Yeah, he's a jack ass, but if it weren't for him, we may not have the films and Bay to bitch about(well ROTF anyway, I liked the first one).

I'm happy about Waspinator, one of my fav BW characters. Glad it wasn't Erector, I mean, I don't recall him being a prominent character anyway. Yeah, I get it was a joke, but really. Good for Waspy.

Considering all the millions of dollars he raked in and the sheer amount of time he's put into the trilogy, I'd say he's a visionary. Yes, he's a little more perverted at times than I'd care for, but he's done a lot to breathe new life into the franchise.

ROTF had a good 30 minutes of footage that wasn't needed in it, but everything else was fine considering the fact that he did it in the middle of the writers strike.

Yes, the bay Bashing is getting very old. I'm more than sure the next batch of movies are going to be better. Especially since I think we'll get a different director for those.

I really must be disconnected from things, from how other people think, or from the fandom in general.

I absolutely, 100% can not understand how anyone, can take any of this, in any way, shape, or form seriously.

The angst over any and all of this has been by far the lamest thing I've seen since 2002 when they put Armada Hot Shot on the shelves next to the RiD cars.

Frankly, I don't care if Erector had more votes than every other character combined. If he did, I think Hasbro did the right thing by taking the second choice. Aaron Archer said it. Hasbro takes the Hall of Fame seriously. The fandom should, too.

Perhaps the solution is to not allow fan nominations. Hasbro can choose the five fan nominees, and then the fans can choose from them. I love how Hasbro handled the Erector nomination, and part of me would love to see what they would do with other obscure characters. But it's a farce that Erector got as far as he did.

Hasbro needs to take steps to ensure it doesn't happen again. I think restricting the nomination process is the best option. But if it takes eliminating the fan vote altogether, I'm fine with that, too.

To those who say it isn't a big deal, were you there for Peter Cullen's acceptance speech? He was genuinely moved and honored by the award. I think it's a shame that there are fans who wish to trivialize the Hall of Fame that he was so proud to be inducted into.

I was there and I stand by what I said.

I love Peter. He's great. He also cries at everything and is very emotional (not saying that as a slight to him, the man went to tears when I complimented him the first time I met him).

Ok, we are gonna have to agree to disagree. A visionary? Cuz he directed 3 big budget summer action films that made money? Not to me, sorry. Now, if the films maybe had a deep story going on along with the action, oh say like Iron Man, Thor, X-Men, The Dark Knight, ect. as opposed to mindless explosions and sweet lookin CG Transformers, then I'd agree with you.

And to me, the whole "because of the writers strike" argument is getting old. Watch the special features on both movies, anything with Bay in particular, he's less interested with Transformers and the story/mytho's than he is with rakin' in the big money with another summer block buster.

And as far as footage not needed in ROTF, the last time I tried to watch it, I skipped an hour and ten minutes. All mindless robot action with no story, but it was tolerable, dare I say enjoyable. Like I said, agree to disagree.

I have nothing else to do.

Hall of fame isn't really a big deal to me, but it gave me something to talk about while I was bored. (Be cooped up in a house a lot and mundane things suddenly become entertaining.)
