Sentinel_Primal wrote:Honestly, my hope is that the Stunticons are similar to POTP Predaking where you can't switch the jobs, so leg bots are leg bots, arm bots are arm bots, but you can switch position, so they could be swapped from left to right. This would mean that even if current rumors/leaks are right about mainline Breakdown being Prime inspired, we could maybe get a repaint/head remold of Wildrider as G1 Breakdown and he could take his place as a leg

Not sure if baseless rumors are newsworthy.

Right, I think that's the implication. There have been posts from randos saying they'd like to feed fake "news" to this site in other threads.

Well, we do have a whole Rumors thread containing news posts dedicated to Legacy and other upcoming figures, as well as a Rumors news category.-Kanrabat- wrote:AcademyofDrX wrote:Link to the most direct post from the original source of the rumor:

...not quite that, but the leaker is saying we're getting as follows:Wolfman Jake wrote:I still don’t think this rumor is true, but the idea itself is kinda fun: making an established combiner out of different individual versions of the Stunticons from across the multiverse, in a line where different Transformers continuities will be crossing over with one another. However, Hasbro knows that kind of high concept just won’t sell as well as a faithfully updated G1 version of the team.

Sentinel_Primal wrote:Honestly if these guys were CW compatible, I'd be more willing to believe these rumors because then they'd be able to say "CW Breakdown is able to replace the new Legacy Breakdown in combined mode", but as is I'm struggling to fully believe it
I did say almost spotless, so we're in agreement there, and they DID say they retired....but have still been leaking things after that statement anyway, namely some of the Beast Wars reissue stuff, the rumored 4-pack of Goldbug, Ransack, Toy Scorponok, and Paralyzer, and they were one of the ones that indicated that the Wreckers stuff is Amazon-exclusive.Sentinel_Primal wrote:Not entirely spotless, and also I believe that this leaker has also retired from giving actual leaks.
Considering all of the Siege-character-redos-as-exclusives that we just got over the course of WFC, putting out the "wrong" Breakdown at retail and then having the "right" one as an exclusive later after people have bought the "wrong" one just to finish the combiner seems very on-the-table and in-character for Hasbro.AcademyofDrX wrote:I was skeptical originally, but that's also how they did the special teams in Combiner Wars, introducing a limb that didn't fit the G1 origin. In those cases though, there were ultimately later releases of the missing G1 limbs as exclusives. It would be very weird to me if they didn't provide some option for a more traditional Breakdown, even if it's a redeco of another Stunticon that doesn't have the precise alt-mode.
The only indication that exists so far is that we've seen Dragstrip, and the rumor/leak says that Dragstrip is the most G1 Stunticon of this lot. I don't think anyone has explicitly said we are getting SPECIFICALLY G1 Menasor, people just assumed that based on the listings having all the names of the G1 Stunticons because no one really considered it being Prime Breakdown. And in terms of "they wouldn't do us dirty like that"....I feel like the majority of people that are/are gonna be upset by the apparent lack of G1 Breakdown are those also upset that Earth mode "core G1 cast" guys were exclusives, in which case they've already been done dirty.Wolfman Jake wrote:Hasbro wouldn’t do us dirty like that. They seem quite competent at doing it unintentionally, though.AcademyofDrX wrote:I'm not going to act like Hasbro doesn't make mistakes, but they don't go out of their way to antagonize the fandom.

Wolfman Jake wrote:I think there is a very specific reason why no one is really running this “leak” as news. It’s already known to be false. Enough investors and influencers have already seen the whole of Legacy Menasor to say that these details are simply untrue.
...I feel like it's equally if not more likely no one is running it as news because there's no physical proof of it and therefore no one can attest to it yet, as opposed to things like Jazz-retool Knockout showing up in the Wreckers comic. I don't know who you think has high enough influence to have seen every wave of Legacy before the line has even started that also isn't restricted by NDAs or other legal tape to keep them from firing in here to say a newsed rumor is incorrect.Wolfman Jake wrote:I think there is a very specific reason why no one is really running this “leak” as news.
