Bulkhound. :-?
Warhead

What about "Mudbuster".

Named after the cancelled Animated Bulkhead redeco that this kind of sorta maybe also looks like. Lighter shade of green with black. But instead of the camo, it was supposed to have yellow caution stripes. Shame this Wrecker Bulkhead doesn't have black on his head like others are saying as it would've looked even more like Animated Mudbuster Bulkhead as well as Movieverse Hound.

Does the Scorponok tail they're all standing on seem a little strange to anyone else? Probably just a test mold, but I find the two-toned purple interesting and also interesting that it matches the backdrop so well.

Burn wrote:Instead we get a mish mash of Wreckers from various continuities and ... a hammer.

They could have gone the BAF route and given us Emirate Xaaron, but no, we get a hammer.

A cardboard hammer so extra plastic was never on the table here. The only figure that got an extra accessory is Bulkhead because I guess someone needed to come with a hammer. Personally I was hoping someone would come with a green Battlemaster Doublecrosser as Rack'n'Ruin. Feels like a real missed opportunity. They were in Cyberverse and got a rather big figure there so it's not like it would have been a stretch. They just would have been tiny, but that didn't stop them from making Rung.

MaximalNui wrote:On another note, apparently Spindle's chestpiece and Masterdominus' mammoth head combine into a new combiner head. So, figuring out another combiner with these two will be fun!

That's really cool!! Always that part looked like a mask. Hasbro seems to be aware that fans are making bigger and bigger combinations from all the Fossilizers and we could use a bigger head to top them off. The extra head on Wingfinger only works so far.

DeathReviews wrote:Eh. "Thrilling 30" Springer is still the better figure overall. AND it was the foundation for Sandstorm, one of the best Voyagers of all time....

I really don't like that figure, at all. To me it's a different yellow Triplechanger that doesn't resemble Sandstorm in the slightest and his car mode would probably break if one of those big tires hit a bump at high speed. We really need a proper redo of the guy.

When Legacy Bulkhead first came out, everyone screamed MOVIE HOUND, BEAST HUNTERS OPTIMUS! I see how the second one will work, but it is unlikely it will happen. :michaelbay: I could also see it become Magmum (pre-Ultra Magnus) But that would never happen. I'm working on how Magmum will look, and I'll post that when I'm done.

Unwanted fluff for you, maybe. Fossilizers are the main draw for some.

I doubt it in those two packs as it's obviously the G1/G2 figs that are the main figures, with the fossilizers tacked-on. They're like chalk and cheese. They would be much better suited being colour coordinated to go with a BW figure instead, IMO.

That's the genius thing about two-packs like this that also makes them frustrating: one toy clearly appeals to one fan segment, the other to a different one. There are absolutely G1ers like me who are most interested in Marvel UK and OG characters, and then there are fans of modern play features who are most excited about the bone boys. It's not about which fans are targeted more, the whole point is that it's appealing to a range.

I have a soft spot for the fossilizer redecoes so I'm happy with both parts, but I may be an exception.

2 packs/ multipacks of any kind that have different characters from different eras are very frustrating, it would be nice if they were more uniform, but Hasbro dosen't see it that way.

I am very much a hard core OG and BW fan. However the Fossilizers are the thing I'm looking forward to most in these sets ( will be selling off Impactor and G2 Leadfoot).

Sometimes though, it's just not worth it. It would have been nice to get Fangry, but nothing else in the Buzzworthy set was even remotely interesting, even at 25% off I couldn't justify it, so I didn't get it.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

I justified it by saying I would use BA's legs with the original for a show-accurate look, and wouldn't mind a yellower Bee to go with the orangey VW one, plus Ironhide's cannon was nice. Then I lost one of BA's legs so I ordered another one, and promptly threw Bee in the sell pile. So yeah, ultimately I got really hosed on that set.

On the other hand, I really like buying toys, and multi-packs really trigger those good chemicals, so there's positives and negatives.

While I personally don't mind the two packs. I wanted both the Fossilizers and Leadfoot, Impactor's the only issue I have with it, but another Impactor's not too bad. I'm mostly just glad that I don't have to get another Springer. That said, I'm still hoping that we get a Top Spin. I'm glad the one we're for sure getting is Twin Twist, but part of the appeal is getting both.

As a side note, how tall is Depth Charge in universe? Cause if Hasbro doesn't want to give him a brand new mold, they could do what Newage is doing and just do a heavy retool of Cyclonus with the nosecone becoming a tail. It'd have some faux parts, but I think if it means a cleaner bot mode, it could look really nice, plus Depth Charge has always had the faux manta head on his chest

I have to quibble here: Depth Charge's chest is not a faux manta head, it is the manta head. The eyes and underlaying torso are effectively fake, so the whole structure is a little different, but it's not faux like the NewAge version. The OG Depth Charge toy is more like TR or PotP Hot Rod than SS86 Hot Rod, in that part of the original is present, even if the alt-mode has added parts.

The 3P version is very cool for what it is, and Hasbro isn't above using their engineering when it works, but I don't think that's a good model for a new Depth Charge. They can--and hopefully will--do better.

I'm not particularly invested in thus mold at all, but could 1 version represent Prime Bulkhead and the other Animated Bulkhead?

Hasbro definitely could create great new toys for Rampage and Depth Charge. But will they? Depth Charge technically doesn't have a faux chest, the back kibble manta head is only part of one. Just go watch a review online. Hasbro has done many car hood shaped chests before, so this shouldn't be so hard. But Rampage would be the real issue. 80% of his alt alt mode becomes back kibble. And we still haven't gotten any remade transmetal beast wars figures. I'm thinking what it Hasbro created a stupid way to work it into the ROTB toyline, but it's too late for that now! :michaelbay:

In the end, I ordered the first two for the fossilizers, then ordered Springer to get the Hammer. part, but now seeing the last two, I'm considering just cancelling my orders. Maybe if twin twist and topspin had been a set or if we'd gotten another reworked Fossilizer, Id be more excited.

Check the accessory list, it does not say "piece of hammer". The Hammer you are building is made of cardboard, it is not an accessory.

Same, and I am seeing a "nice" split. "Nice" in terms that both figures and play patterns are liked by fans, but it sucks that in many parts it isn't the same segment of the fandom liking each two pack component.

O.Supremem you said that this is typical of hasbro and we say that it indeed was in Kingdom but what I find nuts is that they actually made good 2 packs in Earthrise, two packs which made sense. Like the two coneheads, ratchet and that medic nurse, prowl and ironhide. Those made perfect sense ..... and yet had their releases botched.

You should know by now Hasbro deals in such shenanigans.

True which is why I sometime wonder why people even bother buying he first three releases of any of them. lol
What I question is the short time between said repaints, the original version just started showing up although might have been seem much sooner had there not been shipping delays. Now not even a year later there's this redeco. It would make more sense to me if these straight repaints were at least two years apart for some breathing room so it doesn't look like all they're doing is repaints.

This whole aspect is what has taught me to wait things out on stuff that's not quite right the first time thus I do not have to worry abut unloading the first release. The only figures I buy/try to buy immediately are the ones I think I won't see again such as VW Bee or a Walgreens Exclusive.
