At this point (almost four years into the line), it kinda goes without needing to say. Selects is basically the replacement for/spiritual successor to the BotCon/TCC exclusives.Rodimus Prime wrote:Is that a rule Hasbro specifically stated?Sabrblade wrote:Selects is for redecos and remolds, though, not new molds. In order for Needlenose to have been released in Selects, he would've had to have been a redeco of an existing mold instead of his own new mold.Rodimus Prime wrote:Yeah, I was bothered by Needlenose at 1st, but I've come to terms with the fact that it's the best were gonna get. I wish he could have been sold at Selects price for a deluxe plus 2 battlemaster-size Targetmasters. Like Cyclonus. It would have freed up sone of the budget of the Targetmasters to go towards Needlenose himself. But it's either this or the hella expensive TFCC figure.

Well, some remolds in Select are so extensive, they might as well be their own brand new molds at this point.
Perfect example: Super Megatron.

I think we should distinguish between Takara Sekects, which can have extensive remolds, and Hasbro Selects which is very much like Botcon toys.

The Evolution Junkions are like the Fossilizers/Modulators/Weaponizers from Siege where they break apart and can swap parts between them like in the movie. I don't believe this applies to Wreck-Gar and Junkyard, however you can still give them pieces because of the 5mm ports they have

As far as we know the following are set to be repacked next year:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:What's that wave breakdown again... Any sign of them doing us a solid and restocking Sunstreaker? We need that so badly.

-Legacy Tarantulas
-All 3 retail Legacy Leader Class figures from this year (Laser OP, Blitzwing, TM2 Megs)
-ER Ramjet and Dirge
-Possibly Kingdom Cheetor and ER Wheeljack (we have no evidence for or against these repacks having been actually cancelled and not just pushed back)
-Core Class Bomb-Burst and Starscream
Nothing on Sunstreaker.
I believe the running theory is it's because Wheeljack is set to be in Rise of the Beasts in addition to his presence in all the recent shows, which would explain why they would be interested in repacking specifically him and Cheetor and why they either pushed back or cancelled those repacks in conjunction with the movie getting pushed back.Overcracker wrote:Not sure why Wheeljack gets so much attention and Sunstreaker gets nothing.

Either that or it's just a coincidence of timing I guess?

Not sure that theory holds much water.
We haven’t seen Primal 4 different times or Mirage… they’re in the movie too.
Why single out Wheeljack? Not only does he get 4 different releases of the Siege mold, he also gets an SS BB movie release.
Is he a good seller? Do kids see Wheeljack and are attracted to him?
I’m all for Wheeljack, I love Wheeljack. Liked him in G1, loved him in Prime. I own a ton of Wheeljacks, But do we really need the same toy 4 or 5 different times in what 2 years?

Better question is:
Did those previous Reissues sell? That would be a better indicator

I have to assume he is, otherwise, it makes no sense for Hasbro to keep putting him out.
The actual question is, is he that good of a seller. I can still easily find Earthrise and Kingdom in most places I look.
Netflix probably harder to find at this point. Does it really justify another release?
