Man, nothing scrambles your brain quite like Christmas! At that point I'd only slept a total of nine hours since Thursday, worked Saturday night, and still had four more hours to go before I could get any decent sleep (5 whole hours, wheeee!), and now I'm leaving for work again. Gotta love the holidays!

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...

Absolutely on board, where do I sign.Nemesis Destron wrote:
So with the recent talk of Armada OP I thought of how epic it would be if this guy were released in a much grander Legacy rendition. The sight of Overload was impressive buuuuut it was so overwhelmed with flaws. Just imagine what could be if![]()
were to add this guy to the Legacy line!

Sandstorm's a 2024 release though, so we'd need 3 waves for Wreck N Rule for that to be the case, not 2. Unless you're suggesting that Wreck N Rule skips a year?Razorbeast88 wrote:Sooooo if there's gonna be a leader class Sandstorm.. and there's gonna be a 2nd subline of Wreck N Rule... mayhaps there'll be 2 Sandstorms?

Funny you make that comparison since Overload's Japanese name was Ultra Magnus.-Kanrabat- wrote:Armada Overload should be a leader. A deluxe "minicon" with the rest of the body that would partsform like Ultra Magnus's armor.

Not in Superlink proper, no. It only made it over to Japan as a Hasbro-import "USA Edition" in Energon packaging.ZeroWolf wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Funny you make that comparison since Overload's Japanese name was Ultra Magnus.-Kanrabat- wrote:Armada Overload should be a leader. Was the Ultra Magnus redeco ever released in Japan, under the Super Link line?

What about the Armada Powerlinx Jetfire redeco?Overcracker wrote:Though I admit the Jetfire mold has only one real repaint option: Timelines AstroTrain. Or the blue striped version from the Superlink set, but not sure it would be different enough. Of course they could pull a Legacy Bulkhead and just make him a slightly dingier shade of gray or something.

Or Spacewarp? Things like the Combiner Wars G2 Stunticons and Selects Combat Megatron show that Hasbro currently isn't afraid to dip into unreleased figure decos.
Maybe that would have made for a better Galaxy Shuttle then the POS Astrotrain?Overcracker wrote:Sabrblade wrote:What about the Armada Powerlinx Jetfire redeco?Overcracker wrote:Though I admit the Jetfire mold has only one real repaint option: Timelines AstroTrain. Powerlinx maybe.
SpaceWarp? Does the current team even know that version is a thing? Somewhat similar to AstroTrain though. So yeah either of those may work for potential repaints. Selects SG Armada Jetfire anyone?
Galaxy Shuttle got made in the first place because his head was the alternate pretool that had been built into the mold back when the Astrotrain mold was first made.Rodimus Prime wrote:Maybe that would have made for a better Galaxy Shuttle then the POS Astrotrain?Overcracker wrote:Sabrblade wrote:What about the Armada Powerlinx Jetfire redeco?Overcracker wrote:Though I admit the Jetfire mold has only one real repaint option: Timelines AstroTrain. That doesn't disqualify the Armada Jetfire mold (or any updates) from being a viable (or even better) option for Galaxy Shuttle. Maybe Hasbro should have waited instead of forcing that version onto an already inferior mold.Sabrblade wrote:Galaxy Shuttle got made in the first place because his head was the alternate pretool that had been built into the mold back when the Astrotrain mold was first made.Rodimus Prime wrote:Maybe that would have made for a better Galaxy Shuttle then the POS Astrotrain?

I agree definitely. I'm just saying even the original Armada Jetfire in black and white deco could have passed for Galaxy Shuttle at least as well as the Astrotrain mold did.First-Aid wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:That doesn't disqualify the Armada Jetfire mold (or any updates) from being a viable (or even better) option for Galaxy Shuttle. I'd prefer a new Jetfire mold. As integral as the Jet Optimus mode was to Armada, I can't see Hasbro making a Jetfire that didn't merge with the upcoming Armada Optimus figure.
I'm not expecting another one. But an update to Armada Jetfire is a reasonable expectation, right? So why couldn't Hasbro wait and made Galaxy Shuttle out of that, instead of a mold that's already compromised and barely pulls of a shuttle mode as it is?ZeroWolf wrote:I doubt we'll see Galaxy Shuttle again any time soon.

All that could have been also applied to a potential new Armada Jetfire, with the exception of it being designed by John Warden.william-james88 wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:I'm not expecting another one. 0 development cost, including thousands saved on mold development. I spoke to Hasbro personally about this and this galaxy shuttle was designed back in 2017, under John Warden, so way before the idea of going big on Armada like we are seeing now. The alt head for Astrotrain was Galaxy Shuttle and thus part of that original molding.
In the end, the answer to most questions is cynically "money". And making it an exclusive meant Hasbro got a guarantee order fill from walmart for a new product of the highest exclusive size class which the current team didn't spend a dime on designing. This was basically free money for them.
