Unfortunately there is no clear answer on that. If L:E SKU's the same as L, then yes, it's likely retailers wont carry it. But that was the whole reason Hasbro switched to packaging refresh every year starting with PotP. I mean we could argue that "Prime Wars" and "WFC" were 3 year lines (Well Prime Wars was technically 4 but...), with new packaging each year so that retailers would keep ordering.
Legacy Evolution does have new packaging art, but if it SKU's the same as Legacy, then Hasbro kind of undid what they attempted to fix back in 2018.

Did the fix work? If we compare it to Studio Series, for instance, which doesn't have a line refresh, did we see more yearly refreshes of Generations toys or Studio Series toys? The first wave of the various generations lines have been well stocked but beyond that, I don't know (then again, that alone might make it better stocked than SS).
Also, on a different topic, I am rather impressed at how well Motromaster sold. he is sold out practically everywhere in Canada and the US at the moment. I don't know if there is more to come.

He seems to have done well here too. I never seen a physical copy of him in stores but did however see the barcode/price sticker ON shelves where he should be, so it was likely just ships in the night. Which is a bummer bc I'd been banking on picking him up on sale similar to how I got Sky Lynk and Rowdy Roddy Prime
william-james88 wrote:Yeah same here, I've been able to get all commanders on sale. As of right now, I have missed out on motormaster, but we'll see. The quantities still seem really low, I think not all stock has been alloted yet, especially when the limbs outside of Dragstrip arent even common at retail yet.

I'm not taking any chances with the Stunticons so I preordered and paid everything at full price. Now if only that sonovabitch Breakdown would REALLY come out already...

I never saw the Dragstrip sales or I might have gotten him then, originally I was going to just pass on him as I didn't care mush for the character of the looks of the bot. Then it occurred to me I probably should get it for completion sakes. I also planned to get them all on sale but now that seems very unlikely.

Now that I’m thinking about it, I haven’t ever seen a Commander Class figure in-store.

I've seen Jetfire, Sky Lynx and possibly Rodimus Prime at Target and Walmart, but never more than 2 boxes at once.

I like that idea, until that’s a wave that can’t be found because of distribution issues…
Maybe two in wave 1, Motormaster in wave 2, and the last two in wave 3… I would’ve been really happy with that.
Now, I do think all 3 Insecticons should’ve been released within 9 months in 3 consecutive waves.
Not to mention, the Cons getting entire waves to themselves is a rarity, that's a luxury that's typically only given to the good guys. In fact, the last time there was an all-Con Deluxe wave was also in Combiner Wars when the Combaticons hit the scene, and 90% of the time it happens in any other size class it only happens because that wave contains at least some of the 3 most bankable Cons in the franchise (the Legacy rereleases of both Core and Voyager Soundwave, for example).ZeroWolf wrote:It would be pretty unlikely unless it was part of an exclusive subline. Hasbro have made it clear they like some diversity amongst alt modes (hence why the early waves of combiner wars wasn't team specific).

Was that in Canada by chance? If not, they could have been online returns.

I never, ever saw any Commanders at Walmart too. Just online, my local geek store, and at Toys R Us.
Right now, you can still find Rodimus Prime in TrU's brick and mortar stores on clearance at 84$CAN. Strangely, I never saw Motormaster in a TrU store.
