Unless something mind-blowing come out before December 31st, Armada Optimus Prime is a very, very strong contender.

I'm wondering if the leader version will be the same as the voyager but with more accessories? Or a bonus core class figure? Maybe the leaks aren't completely accurate with the size classes or something

Sabrblade wrote:How would Thundertron and Tigerhawk sharing the same mold even work? Their transformations are completely different.
Thundertron's lion head becomes his torso; Tigerhawk's tiger head becomes his right shoulder.
Thundertron's robot legs are formed by his beast mode's hind legs, while his front legs become his robot arms. Tigerhawk's robot legs are formed by his beast mode's front legs, while his hind legs fold up into the torso to place his bird feet next to each shoulder. And his arms are made from none of his beast mode limbs.
The only thing they really have in common besides both being felines is that both are white and blue, but it is more common for a mold to have its second use be a different color from the first in order to avoid redundancy with the first release.

I'm just saying it's a possibility.AcademyofDrX wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The Leader version could just be the Voyager with something like a redeco of Coronation Starscream's throne as a Captain's chair.
Does that seem particularly likely? How many other examples have there been?

Voyagers being "bumped up" to a higher price point has been done before, with Walmart's WFC Trilogy capsule.
Sharing a few small parts doesn't make them the same entire mold, though.Sentinel_Primal wrote:I will say on the topic of retools going from voyager to leader, one good example from studio series is ROTF Megatron into DOTM Shockwave. They share some parts, but they're also very distinctly different designs

The term would be "shared engineering." Especially because ROTF Megs is a voyager and DOTM Shocky is a bigger leader.

Dion is a mess with terrible QC. His arms don't want to stay on at all and I'll have to add a few layers of polish to tighten them up. It would have been a nice retool if the QC wasn't garbage. The SS86 Kup mold needs to be retired.

I'll have to give that technique a try, I used a couple drops of superglue to tighten up that loose peg hole.
