I'm just remembering all the outrage people felt over the Masterpiece Ultra Magnus being all one bot with no white Prime inner robot.

I see the point of a separate, inner bot possibly upping the overall cost to fit the Commander Class.
At the same time, an all-in-one Magnus may require even more engineering, and who knows, possibly more parts. I could see this looking/being even more 3P-esque than Motormaster.
Also, consider that part of the reason I skipped the Kingdom version was because that trailer was absolute dog water...
It wasn't even complete, and from what I remember seeing, was hardly functional.
Even though it wasn't a real feature shown in the movie, I'm betting this new Magnus trailer is completely on point in terms of appearance and functionality.
I'm going to call it now-- it will easily hold 4 deluxe cars sized like Sideswipe, and possibly 5-6 if they're smaller like Huffer, Cliffjumper, etc.
So while it could be a situation where Commander Class price/value is questionable, I'm sure it will be well above what we usually get for a Leader Class figure.

Do we know what the next wave's looking like? Like, I know we'll get at least one Dinobot, Prowl, Junkion 2, and Dreadwing, but what were the others supposed to be again?

Maybe once, and I did it just to check it out since I bypass it completely for every transformation
But Siege UM is just white Prime with a bunch of armor slapped on it. How do you bypass something completely that's essential to getting him into full robot mode (aside from flipping out the head)?

I think they're saying it's never displayed on its own outside of the armour and/or they never just play around with the white cab on its own.
Was it may time when we say motormaster last year?

That's from the time where "cartoon accuracy" was not the defacto rule for Masterpieces and people preferred having the OG toy functionality.
Also, MP Magnus is gigantic and it could have been able to pull off the White Prime.

Was there any outrage at the first MP Ultra Magnus White Prime with cardboard trailer? Wouldnt be surprised if the new ultra magnus was like that XD
If they are revisiting Ultra Magnus so soon, fingers crossed they go back to the dinobots in a few years and make them bigger.

At commander price? That would be ridiculous.

Bigger?
How much bigger do you want them, they are pretty big already.
In regards to Magnus. Siege / Kingdom was the only time since G1 Magnus that we have had a white inner Prime with a trailer / armor.
It's really not a stretch to expect another one of those when every other Magnus in existence has been a stand alone Magnus with no inner white prime or just a white prime with no armor.
For commander class, I expect a a white prime and a trailer / armor.
Enough with one or the other. at that price point i'm pretty sure it will be both.
Only one of these has a white prime:

But in an animation accurate line...you don't need a white prime
Moving on as really, that discussion is best served in the SS86 thread now.
Thanks for posting this, I forgot that Metalhawk was coming up, which means it won't be long till we get a peak at what this version looks like.
Also, with Shrapnel coming, does this mean another Deluxe Insecticon heading to Buzzworthy

Oh we're almost assuredly seeing Chop Shop at some point this year if we're basing it off of last year, the only downside is that Bombshell's gonna hit retail too late in the year for Hastak to just finish out the OG and Deluxe Insecticons all in 2023 (unless we get another Golden Disk situation where Bombshell retools get shown before Bombshell himself). Seeing as how that mystery probably-going-to-Walmart capsule with G2 Grimlock could still turn out to be beast-themed, I wouldn't be shocked to see Insecticon reuses show up there either.ZeroWolf wrote:Nemesis Primal wrote:Core:Sentinel_Primal wrote:Do we know what the next wave's looking like? Also I know I've brought this up before, but especially with the addition of that mystery Prime I really think that Evolution might be 5 waves (everything in italics is me assuming it's placement based off what little info we have or lack thereof): ...realistically Armada Optimus and The Nemesis will probably actually release closer to wave 3 than wave 2, but y'all get the idea.

Crosscut issss a Skids repiant or retool correct? And Metalhawk is Needlenose? Man, I forgot Shrapnel was coming down the pipes too, that might be the only Insecticon I pick up if it looks cool enough, if not still have my Legends one from a couple years ago!

After the last two years of collecting, it really seems crazy that the only figures I know I’m getting this coming year from the mainline are a Core class, & 3 deluxes; Thundercracker, Shrapnel, Beachcomber, & Bombshell.
I’m guessing (& hoping) I’ll be in for the Nemesis, but I definitely can’t commit to that one yet.
I’m relatively disappointed with the Core Dinobots.
I totally understand making them work with the line gimmick.
But because I don’t at all care about Volcanicus, I would’ve much preferred good stand-alone figures.
Even with buying 2 of each SS86 Dinobot, I probably would’ve bought these Core versions.
But these first two are so off with both modes, it’s nowhere near worth it for me.
For me, the “mainline” this year will be SS86.

It's nice to know there's still something things yet to be revealed in wave 2.
A lot of people thought we'd be getting either a trailer sold separately or a "perfect" edition later. But like with Masterpiece Victory Leo our expectations aren't always met in MP.
It would be surprising if it was anything other than a straight repaint of Velocitron Burn Out.

Unlikely. Hasbro has said it's not feasible to make full Pretenders anymore. There's no way we are getting a shell and an inner robot. The likelihood is it will be a retool of Jiahxus with a robot mode that looks like his shell, and the jet mode that looks like the inner robot's alt mode at least a bit.

I would be shocked if he got his own mold.
I would be even more shocked if they chose Armada Starascream over Jiahxus. Starscream has at least 2 more easy repaints and 2 slight retools guaranteed before dipping into other characters. Their Jiahxus mold is in desperate need of another use.

They'd have to retool jihaxus heavily, and its also possible that Takara might have something to say about it after Override and Cosmos. The bigger question is what style they'll do it. Will he simply be the inner robot or are they going to continue what they started with the other pretenders and try to blend the outside shell with the alt mode

I really thought we would get Armada Thrust out of Jhiaxus. It's a fairly simple repaint with a new head. The jet modes are pretty similar.

It is similar enough to get a repaint I will agree with thar, however, there's 2 things that would probably stop them from doing that. Not sure Armada Thurst warrants an upgrade to voyager class, and seeing as How the Armada re-makes in Legacy have been at least trying to keep their original gimmick functional in some way, I don't see them just repainting Jiahxus gray and green and calling it a day. His spinning wing gimmick is a fairly prominent part of Thrust, like Hot Shot's axel-zooka, and Starscream's shoulder cannons. They'd also need to completely retool the chest for thrust.
Seems like a lot of work just for Thrust.
