But Legacy needs to be frozen and delayed in favor of restocking most of Earthrise. The eBay markup on so many of the characters is obscene, and a lot of us were screwed out of being able to buy much of ER while it was on shelves.

As surmised by some, there appears to be no combiner port to speak of. So basically the advantage here over CW/UW is that this is a Transformer with just 2 modes, which allows it to look it's best in terms of engineering, and it does appear that it will truly only be held on to Menasor by 5 MM ports. Although I'm sure there will have to be a way to integrate a hand accessory (perhaps there will only be ONE possible configuration for this Menasor?)
So basically the individual four Stunticons I imagine will all look really great. Motormaster however is going to make or break this whole concept. I've always been a fan of animation accuracy, but in terms of consistency, I'm breaking my own rule of preference and sticking with my UW Menasor. I know that's not a popular opinion, and objectively the Legacy one will probably better, but it is, what it is.
Also, I think we can put to rest the theory of Hasbro/TT redoing ALL the combiners, as really no other combiner besides Menasor came together in this way. So while I personally don't want redux of any Combiners, except for those that haven't yet been done, I think Menasor is truly going to be a one off.

There is that metal circle on the back of the robot mode. Maybe the combined form will use a magnet to hold the arm in place?

Nope, he splits in half and likely pegs onto the arm frame. Hopefully the other arm bot splits similarly and we can play Frankenstein
According to one of the TFW leakers the combination instructions are only with Motormaster anyway, so it being a stolen copy doesn't matter in this caseo.supreme wrote:That was just updated, not part of the original review...If only he had the instructions

he looks good and will be interesting to see the rest of the team. Would not be surprised if the first batch featuring non g1 inspired designs (according to the rumours) will be superceded by exclusives and selects featuring more g1 accurate versions

You mean Commander Class price point

Not only that, but the new $100 2x Leader Commander price point. Not more $80 Commanders (unless you be patient and wait for Black Friday, which I will finally do this year.)

They could have saved the mutant head for a toy-accurate Scorponok redeco instead.
o.supreme wrote:It's kind of neat that since Kickback was the last Insecticon to get a Legends scale figure during Prime Wars, he was the First to get a deluxe size in the new series. I just hope that somehow, despite the controversy with Takatoku (now Bandai) designs, they can make new Deluxe Insecticons true enough to the original, but unique enough not to have any legal issues.
