I'd actually prefer that we let this be the final G1 Menasor for at least 20 years, and instead get this Menasor in 2030 (though preferably much sooner):

That is pretty slick, more non-G1 the better.

On the list of RiD 2015 Decepticons I want in Generations, Menasor is near the bottom. Even so, those characters have great designs.

We did get a set of non-combining stuntucons from Botcxon.

Doubt will ever see anything get closer than that with the Animated aesthetic.

I long to see the 3 RiD2015 combiners get proper toys. Those designs were lots of fun.

They along with Cyberverse Volcanicus. Those are combiners I would love to see happen in generations proper.

I also would love a commander class Prime Predaking. That would be a fun next big guy

Prime Predaking would be a great choice for Commander, do justice to the wing span while also keeping a regal and imposing bot mode.

Sure it is. Its a Menasor from an animated cartoon. Never said it was from THE Transformers Aniimated cartoon.

I guess I should have said, a combining Mensaor with such an extremely stylized animation errr style.

I get there are limitations with mainline releases, especially with as many moving parts that are required for a multi-figure combiner...
But man, I forgot just how bad CW Mensaor really is...
The upgrade kits I have for my UW set make it substantially better.

Looking at those photos, there's not much to like about this specific figure in and of itself-- yes it's a huge benefit that these figures could be used with others from this line (and the individual Stunticons are decent), but in terms of this being a good representation of Menasor, it's not. I could understand someone calling it "average", but it's average at best.
The head/face sculpt looks very KO-ish imo. If that would've been done well that would've at least been something.
But the proportions are horrible, the hands aren't good, the feet are terrible.

I think this is a good example of why many people want figures to be screen-accurate--
Veering off into 1 or a few peoples' (designers) "interpretations" (or design preferences) can lead to a mess, or at bare minimum a substantial letdown.
It's also an example of what I've mentioned before where a figure that uses some visual elements of an established character can still fall very short of really looking like the intended character.

Although it's still TBD, looks like maybe Menasor could top SS86 Sludge as my favorite figure of the year.

@D-Maximal_Primal
Totally agree, a Predaking with a Commander class Razorclaw would be awesome. I personally would hope they could design all of the necessary combining parts so that each individual figure could be a solid stand-alone figure with zero kibble. I'm sure that would bother some, but I could see that being incredibly good.
But assuming that may never happen, especially while I'm still collecting, I'm going to be very tempted by the PotP Reissue set.

Let's have some fun with this.

Name a Character worthy of the Commander Class toy slot based on anything post-1994 (ignore the first 10 years, think we are covered there).

Beast Wars: Magnaboss
RiD2001: Rail Racer
Armada: Optimus Prime
Energon: Optimus Prime
Cybertron: Torn here, maybe Prime with either Wing Saber or Leobreaker
Movie: Demolishor (movie) or Stratosphere (non-screen) or Infernocus (I WILL make this one happen)
Animated: Safeguard maybe? Size and complexity here
Prime: Predaking
RiD2015: Season 2.5 Starscream with minicons and armor
Cyberverse: Astrotrain

IDW2005: Minimus Maximus or Fortress Maximus
IDW2019: Leviathan

Wild Card literally anything else: Age of Extinction Dinobots, make them rideable dammit!

For Cybertron, maybe let Megs have the slot so we can get something approaching the cybertron mold....or Commander Class Cybertron Menasor just to confuse things

For Animated, maybe they could finally make Marauder Megatron or Animated Powermaster Optimus.

If they did Armada Prime, do you think we'd get a Leader class Jetfire to complete the set?

Ooooo, Cybertron Menasor could work!

Marauder Megatron's design actually seeing light would be perfect too.

I have faith in the team that if they did Armada Prime, a Jetfire and Overload would happen, with potential for Powerlinx battles selects releases (or Ultra Magnus in Overload's case)

From Beast wars I'd be down for magnaboss or tripredacus, maybe even torca. Magmatron would be fine with me too, though he might get a similar reaction as rodimus Prime did

Agreed on railracer, not enough mainline trainbots

From cybertron trilogy I'd like tidal wave

From animated, idk. Reallyyyyy want another quadruple changing Shockwave but Commander class could be excessive
Patiently waiting for an updated TF:A-inspired quadruple-changing Shockwave in the generations toyline

Commander Class Lugnut, please and thank you.

In regards to the UT Primes on that list, would they all have to come with their respective combination partners to fit Commander, do you think? I would want to be able to purchase dudes like Jetfire, Wing Saber, Leobreaker, etc separately if possible just so they weren't only available through the Commander slot, but at the same time I can't imagine Energon Prime not coming with at LEAST the drones (unless they update the drones into being Weaponizers, which I would absolutely be down for).

Would absolutely be down with IDW Fort Max, Rail Racer, and honestly either/both Predaking(s).

For Armada Prime, I fully expect the truck and trailer to run commander alone to make it right. Same with Energon Prime and his drones.

Cybertron Prime I think can be done in the leader class slot by himself (as he has already shown), so i think to make him commander you would need a Leobreaker with a well developed Savage Claw mode to justify the class. But i think it would work out nicely

I don't think they should try this, honestly. Considering Leobreaker is about the same height as unarmored Optimus and would need the engineering to essentially be a Triple Changer, I don't think they could fit that in the box with a evolving Leader figure (who might also technically count as a triple changer if they included the flight mode for his alt mode) without either compromising one of them or bumping it to Haslab Victory Saber status. Plus Leobreaker also has the built-in show character repaint of Nemesis Breaker, which would not only require the mold to be separate from making that Optimus so they could do the repaint, but would also require the combined mode engineering to also fit a hypothetical updated Cybertron Megatron (and/or Siege GUOP, seeing as how they went out of their way to make Legacy Motormaster at least partly backwards-compatible with CW).

If they want a Commander Class Cybertron Optimus, they need to give him the Rodimus treatment: do everything GUOP already did, just have his unarmored mode be accurate this time, include basically everything the original armor could do minus electronic gimmicks (so flight mode for both bot and alt modes), make the cannons not hollow this time, give him an opening chest & matrix, opening/usable hands, and then pad out the box with blast effects, the Omega Lock, and Rhisling.

One issue I see with most Prime figures is the detail of a lot of thin, lengthy parts/pieces required to produce a good representation, especially in a mainline release would be very difficult, if not impossible.
Specifically with that character, the wings and tail alone seem like a tall task.
But done right and that could be amazing.

*edit
Also, a random question, which doesn't really belong to any one thread so I thought I'd add it here--

Does anyone know if Target uses in-store stock to fulfill online orders ever?
And, does Target do any ship-to-store fulfillment from other store locations?

Here's why I ask--
Four days ago I was at Target in search of Kickback and Dragstrip.
No luck, but lately I have been keeping an eye on what else is on the pegs and shelves (minus Cyberverse stuff).
On this trip there were 3 SS86 Kups, and 2 SS86 Blurrs.
Roughly a day and a half later, all 3 Kups and 1 Blur are gone.

It seems weird and unlikely to me that within a day and a half 3 SS86 Kups sold... I know it's possible, but it just seems odd, and again, unlikely. And interesting that if they in fact sold, that of the 2-3 people that bought them, none of them wanted a Buzzworthy version instead. On that stop I made 4 days ago there were FIVE BW Kups. This afternoon there were still five.

We seemingly won't get Prime Breakdown thanks to Menasor (which I'm okay with as he looks very, very cool and I;' happy for Stunticon fans)...but is there anything stopping us from getting a G2 Ransack?

There is some sort of Ransack coming in a Buzzworthy Bumblebee 4-pack, but we have no idea which Ransack it is.

Actually the leg pieces have the CW comboners on them, so the frame should still be compatible:

So while you can't put the new limbs on Old Motormaster, you can seemingly put the old limbs on New Motormaster. At least the legs, no idea if the arms are CW compatible

We got Earthrise Scorponok and Kingdom (BW) Scorponok, Earthrise/Kingdom Arcee and Legacy (Prime) Arcee, and Kingdom Inferno and a rumored Legacy (Bw) Inferno. I don't see any reason at all that we couldn't get a Legacy Breakdown and a Legacy year two (Prime) Breakdown. It's weird to be speculating about hypothetical toys and exclude some for counterfactual reasons.

I’m guessing either a retool/redeco of Legacy Kickback as G1 Ransack or a retool/redeco of Legacy Prime Universe Arcee as Cybertron Ransack are the most likely. I’d be happy with either, but I really want both!

Name a Character worthy of the Commander Class toy slot based on anything post-1994 (ignore the first 10 years, think we are covered there).

Beast Wars: Magnaboss
RiD2001: Rail Racer
Armada: Optimus Prime
Energon: Optimus Prime
Cybertron: Torn here, maybe Prime with either Wing Saber or Leobreaker
Movie: Demolishor (movie) or Stratosphere (non-screen) or Infernocus (I WILL make this one happen)
Animated: Safeguard maybe? Size and complexity here
Prime: Predaking
RiD2015: Season 2.5 Starscream with minicons and armor
Cyberverse: Astrotrain

IDW2005: Minimus Maximus or Fortress Maximus
IDW2019: Leviathan

Wild Card literally anything else: Age of Extinction Dinobots, make them rideable dammit!

Even though you said to skip the first ten years or so there is at least one I'd like to mention for G1.

G1: Galaxy Shuttle.
Beast Wars: Tigerhawk. The combiners were already mentioned otherwise and we're getting TM2 Megs as a leader.
Beast Machines: Psych, I still want a commander TM2 Megatron so I'm saying Cryotek.
Beast Wars Neo: Magmatron.
Beast Wars II: Galvatron.
Machine Wars: Optimus Prime with trailer.
RID 2001: Megatron. Not that the original figure really needs to be redone but I wanted to say something other than Rail Racer. Oh wait, Landfill.
Armada: Tidal Wave.
Energon: Omega Supreme? No, Scorponok.
Cybertron: Menasor.
Animated:...............I got nothing. I love the show but I didn't like the toys for some reason. Well, other than mentioning Safeguard again that is. I do like that one.
Prime: It just has to be Predaking. But just to say something different, Bombshock/Hardshell even if they'd be too big.
GO! Dragotron. This way I can get my giant Insecticons AND Predaking. Otherwise GoGekisou or Goradora. I guess GoKenzan too.
RID 2015: Chop Shop lol. But in all seriousness though, Glowstrike. COMMANDER CLASS
GLOWSTRIKE. Make it happen.
Cyberverse: I don't know. I haven't watched seasons 3 or 4 yet. I could go for a larger Astrotrain though.
2007: I don't know.
RotF: Stratosphere all the way.
DotM: Shockwave's driller worm thing I guess. Buy multiples and connect them.
AoE: Other than Grimlock or Scorn I got nothing.
TLK: Dragonstorm as a single robot...wouldn't that just be grey Predaking? Infernocus...wouldn't that just be black Goradora lol.
BB: Nothing.
Comics: I don't read any and it would probably be extremely difficult to narrow down to one or even two. There's just too many characters.

Yeah just fill in the blanks or jokes with the times I had extras.
