Oil Slick and Lockdown in particular are due for an update, and it's not hard to imagine a Prowl release a la Prime Arcee. I wouldn't hold out too much hope for Animated versions of existing characters, though, with the possible exception of Prime or Bee.
I feel like Helicopter Megs has a greater shot than either Prime OR Bee, honestly, since it's an entirely different alt mode as opposed to Prime just being a different truck or Bee just being a different car.
Possibly, but the Prime robot mode is iconic, and while that version of Bee has a lot in common with other takes, it's a really solid package that also has good mold reuse potential. I didn't watch that much of the series, but I didn't think that helicopter mode was very important in the context of the series.
The thing I like most about the Animated and Prime toy lines are their unique design and engineering approaches, but I don't think they would translate to Generations, and they didn't try to keep that with the Prime Legacy toys. After you strip that away from Animated, I don't think you have a compelling cause left, just a handful of underrepresented characters.
I mean I wouldn't say that it has
much importance in the series, it mainly just hammers in the Decepticon's aerial advantage, which combined with signal dampeners gives them a whole season of basically being undetectable and later gives reason for the development of Optimus's jetpack upgrade. If you look outside the context of the series though, that Megatron design is the only one to ever have had that alt mode, which means if you remove the Animated artstyle to G1-ify new Animated updates (as we all suspect HasTak would do) you still have to give him a new mold. Optimus, on the other hand, has the same transformation as G1 and basically the same alt mode (especially if one leaves out the trailer, which they may do since Animated Prime's trailer serves no function until the finale/previously mentioned jetpack), which means I think they would just blurt him out as a repaint at that point, and in the contest between new new-mold Megatron figure with a unique alt mode and "new" Optimus figure that's just a repaint to emulate a different version of the character, I firmly believe Megatron would sell better since people who already have WFC tank Megatrons may double-dip for the new mold.
...unless they did Optimus with the Wingblade upgrade right out the gate instead of doing just regular Optimus, then there would be reason to do him in addition to Megatron and it would render this whole discussion moot.
I'll give you Bee because I wasn't thinking about the repaints, you're right, and seeing pre-Blackarachnia Wasp finally get a figure would be nice after the original one got cancelled.

I have no horse in this race since I don't buy upgrade kits and I have no interest in that Galvatron, but I fail to see how giving that figure calves longer than his torso is supposed to be "proportionate", it just looks bad.
