Depends on the room.

At the time, Looney Tunes-style slapstick violence was the only way Beast Wars could get away with being as violent as it was, what with the 90's TV censors cracking down on children's television after Batman: The Animated Series, The Legend of Prince Valiant, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and X-Men: The Animated Series all upped the ante on how violent American children's TV shows could be. It's why the likes of ReBoot, Spider-Man: The Animated Series and all anime dubbed by Saban and 4Kids at the time were so heavily policed by the ABC, FOX, and WB censors for how much or how little violence they could or couldn't get away with.PrymeStriker wrote:AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Sabrblade wrote:You get a large room full of longtime Beast Wars fans together to watch some of their most "classic Looney Tunes"-styled slapstick moments and the whole room will be howling with laughter.![]()

Yes, I trimmed it down to fit the sword in that manner
I feel like I asked you the same question but at another time and place. Am I traveling through the multiverse?

He's such a unique figure too. Robot mode is borderline chonky which to me, adds to the character. Alt mode is ... well it's a thing that's supposed to fly.
Love the headsculpt, it's easily the stand out part of him that really makes him a unique figure.
If you haven't ordered this guy, get on it. He's a really good figure!

Great review. Not feeling him at all. I have no attachment to him as a character. Though I do wonder who they are going to retool him into exactly?
Also, for those in the know is not pronounced Gee-axus. or Jai-axus?
The wiki says Gee-Ax-Us

Yeah I'm not sure where Hasbros logic is. I know they want to play into the whole "multiverse" angle but having one obvious stand out character in these sets ( Previously Fangry) and now, Ransack, seems odd.
Kids won't care, and parents wanting to get a " battle in a box" won't care either, but most fans who obviously want the one one toy made with them in mind will pass,
These should have been sold as Selects. Packs of multiple characters do much better when there is a more united theme than " 4 randos from across dimensions* . When Target asked for a multipacks set they probably were thinking of some sort of unified team, or theme at least.

Since g2 wasjust a test market, it was like saying "Gee, axe us!"

That was the joke, yes. But what do you mean by "test market"? Hasbro was investing a lot into G2 world wide, they weren't really testing anything. They weren't going completely all in, the toys started as just repaints and retools and the cartoon was just an altered version of G1, but you could buy them anywhere and everywhere, they did bring new figures in later and gave us the comic. Even Takara got on board. A test market would be more like Machine Wars being used to test interest in vehicles, a limited run only available at KB Toys.

He probably misunderstood the fact that a lot of late G2 stuff was canceled or only released in test markets. And then conflated it with the purported origin of Jhiaxus' name being a reference to G2 being pitched by Marvel as a 12 issue series.
I took a look at the notes section, but I'm not seeing anything about a test market in it.RodimusPrimeUkraine1 wrote:Rtron wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Can you show me where on TFWiki you saw that? My mind may have combined facts to make a lie. If not, the info would be on the notes section of the Jhiaxus (g1) page.

Yeah, the alt mode is a little odd, but he’s right up there as one of the best figures I’ve purchased in the last few years.
Normally my opinion/like of a character can influence how much I like a figure, but in this case, that doesn’t weigh in at all…
Which says a bit more in favor of this guy.
For me he’s an example of a figure who is also appealing because he’s a bit unique, & just different enough without being wacky, cheesy, or goofy.
I’ll also mention again, this is a solid voyager class figure, & this level of quality should’ve been standard even a few years ago…
Any more talk of “It’s just the norm for figures not to have forearm panels…” is BS.
I get that it was common, but Jhiaxus is decent in size/use of plastic, has some good if not great sculpt work, paint apps, engineering, articulation, is packed with two weapons… AND has forearm panels.
Someone said forearm panels would require pins, which then require the metal & the production process, blah blah blah… I never believed that, but clearly pins aren’t necessary.
The main point is this is what I’d call a very, very good figure.
If you’re like me & tend to buy figures based on your like/association of the character, this is one of those times I’d make an exception.
Jhiaxus is legit.
