I did not. But that would be because I preordered it on Pulse.

And then why not just buy the original? I'm sure it isn't cheap, but it's probably as accurate as Hasbro will ever go and it's a modern figure so Hasbro would probably never improve on it (maybe ankle tilts). Better to wish for a reissue.

Wouldn't we normally have one of those previews of SDCC reveals from IGN by now?

Prime fans should stop complaining.
G1 keeps getting re-done because the orgionals had next to no articulation. Prime toys had articualtion and usually accuracy. Not much can be improved. If you are mad at Legacy for not being Prime accurate, this shows how G1 fans felt when they saw Prime designs.

Ah yes, because disliking designs because they're not G1 enough, despite them having never been advertised as G1, is totally the same as being told "You'll be getting updates for these characters, from this universe" and then being handed a G1 body with a Bulkhead head. Right.

But that comparison is apples and oranges? Prime isn't G1. It was never implied/stated/presented as a continuation of G1. No show has been designed to look like Sunbow really.

As I've said in other threads, There is more to Transformers nearing 40 franchise than just the first 3-5 years. The franchise would have ended long ago if that was the case.

To release figures under a branding of "Legacy" without being faithful to the context-specific part, is very disingenuous. If they released Animated Wreck-Gar in this line. Just as an extensive retool of Siege Ironhide, for example. Then that isn't Animated Wreck-Gar.

You referred to an entire segment of the fanbase and users on this site as a nebulous "one of those" (which is impossible to say without implied negative connotations or intent) and said they don't deserve new figures for any reason, within 24 hours of each other.

Were it not for their stated dislike of Prime, I would have been willing to give the benefit of the doubt and thought it might be a reference to Starscream talking to Knock Out, which I'd say wouldn't have the negative intent. It's very specific in terms of context to make the reference and harder to to convey it through text, but not impossible

:???: I have no clue what this means. Every new iteration of Transformers has its own unique designs, unless it's purposefully trying to recall something form the past (For Example the Netflix WFC animated series).

Most people here know I'm a staunch fan of the Original Transformers. So much so that I refuse to use the 2 symbol abbreviation most do because I personally find it distasteful, but I no longer begrudge others from using it.

That being said, I absolutely was blown away with the look of Transformers Prime when it came out. In the decade since it aired, in my mind it has surpassed Beast Wars to be my 2nd favorite Transformers series of all time. All this despite never purchasing a single toy from that line, the Animated Series is THAT GOOD. As for toy designs, I can completely understand why Prime fans are disappointed. Personally I think the Legacy aesthetic looks good on some more than others. But if fans wanted an honest-to-goodness Prime accurate Bulkhead or Knockout, Legacy isn't giving us that, so I totally get it.

Having all the characters from across the multiverse celebrated in Legacy doesn't mean they all have to look like Original Transformers. Personally, I think its a neat idea conceptually to a degree, but I'd never want to deny fans specifically of a certain era whether it be BW, UT, Animated, Aligned etc... Having both toys would be a great option if anything. More options are always good. It's too bad there couldn't have been more entries in the 10th Anniversary Prime line.

All this despite never purchasing a single toy form that line, the Animated Series is THAT GOOD. As for toy designs, I can completely understand why Prime fans are disappointed. Personally I think the Legacy aesthetic looks good on some more than others. But if You wanted an honest-to-goodness Prime accurate Bulkhead or Knockout, Legacy isn't giving us that, so I totally get it.

I see what you kind of mean. As I thought of saying earlier, what if we don't think of Bulkhead as Prime Bulkhead, but as LEGACY Bulkhead. Just another RE-interpretation or the Prime Design, as Prime Bulkhead was a RE-interpretation of the Animated design. but why do we NEED knew Prime toys? Aren't the originals good enough (except arachnid maybe). Most of them could only used improved ankle tilt and wrist swivels.

Because HasTak thinks so. Otherwise the brand recognition wouldn't be there.

I don't know what "brand recognition" means now. Could you be so kind as to explain in layman's terms?

Having all the characters from across the multiverse celebrated in Legacy doesn't mean they all have to look like Original Transformers. Personally, I think its a neat idea conceptually to a degree, but I'd never want to deny fans specifically of a certain era whether it be BW, UT, Animated, Aligned etc...

Yeah, about that HasTak....

But hearing Dead End will be part of a 4th wave with Skullgrin and Point Blank , new leaks of toys coming presumably sooner than the leaks we got a little while ago about 2nd year Legacy, is kind of cool.

Of course, as we saw last year with Pipes and Slammer, last minute changes can mix things up, so we shall see.
No no, this Dead End/Pointblank/Crankcase/Skullgrin wave is Wave 3. Wave 4 is still supposed to be Breakdown and WFC repacks of Cheetor and Wheeljack, kinda like you initially said.

Do really need yet another Wheeljack? How many times has he been released now? 5? Where are other figures like Sunstreaker or Prowl for example? Why aren't they getting re-releases?

Is there anyone out there that still needs a Wheeljack and can't get one of the previous versions?

Granted, he's a really good figure, but does he need to be in every line?

If he sells, then a rerelease is warranted. The fact that you see none on shelves even though he has multiple rereleases is proof enough that he sells.
