2. Hasbro revealed the figure as Autobot Blanker, not Pointblank, so he will be releasing in the West as Blanker.
Blanker is the stupidest f-ing name to replace his actual name of Pointblank. I went back and saw that they were releasing him under this stupid ass name after I posted.
So no correction, this name swap crap confused the hell out of me.
I agree, blanker is the dumbest copyright name swap they could do.
I'd say it's the least dumb one. At least Blanker is the character's name in Japan, so they are still calling the character by a name linked to him since G1. It's not like they called him "Redcar" or "Poopybot".
Bounti76 wrote:Maybe I'm in the minority, but I really like the Peacemaker mold. It pushes all the right nostalgia buttons for me, since Pointblank was the only Targetmaster I had as a kid.
While it might have been nice to get a more "modern" looking Peacemaker, similar to the Siege Battlemasters, I think it's an issue of how the molding on those works. The limbs have to be a different color than the torso, so they look more uniform in gun mode. Sure, they could paint them, but that's likely not an option with the budget they have. Take Selects Cyclonus. He's a figure all about toy accuracy. So wouldn't they make Nightstick with black arms and a black torso, and make him with silver legs, since that's what his G1 toy had? Nope. Silver legs and arms, black torso.

Dead End's car mode does look pretty dang good!
I also can't wait to get this set completed...
As of right now, the plan for my second set of Stunticons is to have them in vehicle modes.
Other than my Sharkticons, they'll be the only figures that aren't displayed in their bot modes.

Which one did you use for Fracas? I'm not at all familiar with these newer Target Master figures.

Fracas, the second from the left, is the torso and legs of Nightstick from Generations Selects Artfire with the arms and gun barrel of “Shrute” (AKA, Fracas) from the Siege Phantomstrike Squadron multipack.
Shrute isn't Fracas. He's Hairsplitter, one of Spinister's two Targetmasters. Fracas is the other Targetmaster in that same set.Wolfman Jake wrote:“Shrute” (AKA, Fracas) from the Siege Phantomstrike Squadron multipack.

They won't match! I guess now I know how all the ride-or-diw CW Scramble City people feel about new Menasor.
CW Menosaur is garbage though...

I get that some people really go for the cartoon accuracy, but sometimes that accuracy is detrimental to the design and in the case of the combiners, I feel like it renders the "combining" kind of pointless.

But what about the dinobots?

Nope... I'll have those 5 all in bot mode.
If the scaling of the dino modes were more to my liking, I'd consider that, but as it is, I like their bot modes much more.
I understand why people would want Menasor to combine/look different.
However, I'm more than okay with what we're getting, and I appreciate that it's not the same combining system as Superion, Defensor, Bruticus, Computron, and Abominus.
And this isn't me saying I think Menasor is the best-looking combiner, but I really like that he's different.

With the development team saying they're interested in doing more Combiners like Menasor I'm really afraid of what that might mean. If they just mean cartoon accurate that's one thing, but we don't need other combiners using this same frame system, it wouldn't look right.

I highly doubt this same combining system would be used for any other combiner.
That would just be a step in the wrong direction.
And with Hastak branching out now into different series, the G1 characters are (as they should) going to most likely stay true to their cartoon models.
I personally hope a new set of Constructicons is next.
This is about the only thing that would keep me in the game past the Dinobots and Insecticons I’ve been waiting so long for.
Although I just saw leaked listings for Core Grimlock, Swoop, & Snarl…
I may have to get those.

I doubt they are doing the Constructicons or Predacons anytime soon, for obvious reasons.
I look at Combiner Wars and there is one team we all know that got done dirty: The Technobots. They deserve better figures than being treated as exclusive leftovers comprised of remolds/repaints. They should be the next combiner team redone.
