This gives me some hope for supporting media as well, colonies and not-Cybertron-itself planets full of Transformers are a super fun concept that doesn't get visited enough.

Anyway, big 'ol Gigantion Metroplex, hell yeah ;)^

Based on my experience with the Ark, I do hope Drill Bit would be a separate deluxe release. The added budget would improve the mass and possibly add some mechanical gimmicks to the titan.

The original had the "staff" with sounds and key activated action. If the Titan don't have that feature, it would be quite a waste.

Also, I do hope that in "take me daddy" mode, the claw/saw thing will be able to reach the ground it's supposed to dig.

Right back at ya with your "ethnocentricity".
YOUR personal experience is totally irrelevant for EVERYONE outside Japan.
So your point "stand" only for you.

As for Americans, appart that single listing, finding a complete original with his Minicon for a reasonable price is pretty rare.

Juist for clarity, the minicon included in that listing is not actually Drill-bit. Its the Street Action Team Grindor which turns into a skateboard.

I did not know a complete Cyb Metroplex was so hard to come by. Seems i could put mine up for sale and cover the cost of the new one easily. Not that I’m going to though.

The original toy was lame with crappy alt modes, now they're making a Titan Class version? Not to mention it's of a character we have already had... They could've done a NEW Primus, Transmetal Dragon Megatron, or another Titan Class combiner... Saved me $200.

Oh, that's just EVIL.
If your Cybertron Metroplex is 100% complete with Drill-Bit, don't sell it if you love it. If you do, it will be gone FOREVER.

They are doing Transmetal 2 Megatron, as a Leader class figure. Why would he need to be Titan-sized?

OG Cybertron Metroplex was bigger and more massive than leader Optimus and Megatron. I don't know if he was still classified as a leader at the time though. One thing is sure is that in the show, he was a titan.

I would have preferred Titan Armada Tidalwave, but C. Metro definitely fit the theme better. Plus it open the door to a possible Cybertron Menasor the year after.

Plus, I must reiterate. Titan Dragon Megatron would make no sense whatsoever. But it would definitely be a solid Commander.

As someone who grew up amongst the ut series but disagreed with some of the design decisions made, I am ecstatic to be able to add much better updates of some of my favorite tf designs to my collection, not sure that I can splurge on a titan class metroplex, but the original was hardly a masterpiece in its time and could use an update, and to be honest, this is probably in scale with the other ut figures now

But I guess this means that the rumor's of the titan class' demise were just lies then

People blew that wildly out of proportion. A leaker said that Hasbro was considering replacing Titan Class with a second Commander and bumping it to $100 (which I would have been fine with since I generally don't buy Titans). People took that and ran with it, and treated it like it was 100% going to happen.

My goodness this has seemed to really divide people. I for one, will be pre-ordering this guy day one and can not wait to compare him with the original. I would like him to come with a minicon, which I think he still could, but seeing a deluxe sized version would be awesome. Hopefully more stuff will continue to leak in the coming days.

If I remember correctly, the minicons didn't scale with the base figures, they were all the same size, the giant planet characters were just extra large comparatively, so any minicon he comes with should be the same size as any other minicon they put out in this next line

I hope they do Mini-Cons where appropriate, but only if they're way more fun than the WFC Micromasters. At appropriate size and with today's realities (like em or not) price-point wise, they're probably going to be a hard sell to do correctly. Heck, just reissuing the old ones might be the way to go.

Of course I would pay $20/Mini-Con to get awesome new ones that are also a correct size, but I am also what most people would call "crazy" in that regard

I get why some were hoping that this figure would be a more drastic change/improvement in alt mode, but personally I'm pretty happy this toy seems to be going for accuracy. Metroplex is one of the only Cybertron characters that really needs an update (mostly for scale), so if this version can fit in with the original line, then I think that's great. Really excited to see more of this guy.

Also, the Legacy logo looks pretty sweet.

It not only has the wrong Mini-Con but also the wrong Cyber Key as well.

Hasbro sold him as a Leader class toy by packaging him in Work Mode, but his proper robot mode was almost as tall as a Supreme class, coming pretty close in height (about a head shorter) to Cybertron Primus.

I'll wait until it ends up at Ross, TJ MAXX or whatever other stores that sell these things when they don't do well in regular retail at a steep discount...Maybe.

Seriously unless there is something super special about this one, I don't see it being worth the titan price tag.

It not only has the wrong Mini-Con but also the wrong Cyber Key as well.

So, that make that listing double invalid.

The only one remain is a sealed one for 250$US.

What a deal! And so easy to find! That single, lone listing...
I saw a lone Drillbit for 65$CAN shipped and a Metroplex with Drillbit and key, but no giant weapon for over 100$can shipped. That's it.

Only ONE result at Mandarake. A sealed one for 12k yen. Sold out, of course. That was such a deal! Air. Nothingness. I saved 100%!
Come see my latest creation, a Galvatron Combiner using 4 SS86 Sweeps as limbs HERE!

Also, an update to my old ALL HELICOPER VICTORION!

Seems that this news has ignited discussion of course.

I like what I see in the somewhat blurry image that looks like a designers sketch coloured in. I'll hold on to better thoughts when we see this toy physically.

When you say a character we already had, I'm not sure what you mean by that other then he had a toy out 16 (will have been 17 by the time this version hits retail) years ago. As the character only name shares in the American dub with G1 Metroplex in Japan, he has a completely different name, that of Angelo Convoy.

To everyone else disappointed in the choice for Titan Class, Remember that this doesn't preclude from any more coming out, and it's likely the next release will be a :CON:. If anything, this should increase the range of characters that could drawn from. Just don't take it personal if it's not the one you really want, just business at the end of the day.

They are doing Transmetal 2 Megatron, as a Leader class figure. Why would he need to be Titan-sized?

Titan would be way over the top. But if I remember the show, he was much bigger than his OG T-Rex self. So I think Commander class would be a perfect fit for him.

The commander class would have been perfect for Transmetal 2 dragon megatron.

Not for the people that would rather pay leader prices for a leader figure
