I didnt see this coming at all. And I can't wrap my head around its purpose or meaning. Also, this might lessen the hope of this being a Last Shot type thing and thus mean that we are not getting a Megatron 2.0 anytime soon.

Gold give away MP1 is stunning, Im always on the lookout for one to show on ebay and prepared to pay whatever necessary to make it mine...

Gold megatron is going to look great next to king grimlock, the bling impact of that figure made it kinda lonely on my display shelf, but not anymore... The LED light on the grimlock shelf is usually off so that it wont look as shiny in comparison to the rest of the MPs... Gold megatron is gonna take it to a whole new level!

Please make a silver starscream and a gold bumblebee!

This is all very well and good (Repaints are always fun, especially totally out of left field ones like this) but can we get an updated MP Megatron mold, please? This guy hasn't held up anywhere near as well as, say, MP-01 or MP-03, and the Decepticons are seriously under-represented at the moment.

But no, still not milking it, milking it would be if we had like three different repaints and a couple of reissues within the first 5 years after the original release.

Replace IDW Bumblebee with Classics Prime.

There are a lot of classics prime figures. Um there's is cloud prime who used this mold , SG PRIME , G1 magnus, too many variants of this mold just for G1 Optimus prime; unlike IDW 'Bee who has been used as night beat, go shooter , carzap, and one or two others I may be wrong so correct me on this .

Didn't the original Megatron toy from '84 have a slight 'smokey tint' to him, which is probably the reason for it's box art colours? I don't think this re-deco will be GOLD gold, like a lucky draw or a 'golden lagoon Megatron' type thing, but just indicative of that look the original had. Plus, this guy has the blue bits instead of red, like Takara's original G1 deco. (I think somebody here mused that may happen)

He looks nice, but I can barely bare my original, If I'm honest :shock:

Which is a shame...

Really, Takara? I only hope they use the metallic plastic they normally used with Henkei figures.

I think it's metalic gold paint and not gold plastic

Um, no. MP Megatron is like 3/4 Unicron's height and is larger than a real Walther P38 in gun mode, so that definitely wouldn't work.

Or you could just have Unicron wield MP Megs as a shoulder-mounted bazooka instead of a massively oversized handgun.

Technically speaking, it's only certain gold plastic that suffers the dreaded syndrome- specifically the type with a metallic "swirl" in it (I must admit, I'm a bit concerned about my Prime Soundwave and mum's Cyberverse DOTM Prime's backpack). To the best of my knowledge, the gold plastic that caused so much grief has long fallen out of use.
