Btw, only way you can truly critique the fig is once you get a hold of him this January 2015. All these talk of lack of details, butt flap..........I get it, I'm also impatient as the rest of us for his release, but as I recall, never heard until Kanrabat complained about MP-11 having the Blitzwing shoulder syndrome. And the latter was hailed as the next best thing as sliced bread. Now, that flaw should have been mentioned by a lot of those "reviewers"
If UM is coming with design flaws, let's critique it but if only for some cosmetic issues.....I don't think the flap is such a big deal. It's the "designer's" and the toyline's theme in the first place.

That right shoulder hinge tho!
It's a prototype (likely made of resin), those things always have loose joints and are very fragile. The person who displayed it did the mistake of trying to put it in a dynamic pose, which the prototype can't handle.
Damn, that latest pic
I hope you're right... That pict under it looks x's better than the constipated pose.

Trust me it is, this happens every time we see prototypes displayed. They all look great in magazines, but displayed they look terrible in the flesh when put in dynamic or action poses. The displayed protos can also not transform because they are often glued together so that they don't fall apart. You can even still see the resin texture and the brush strokes in these newer pics.
We always complain about how terrible they look on display, and then forget about it once we see the final production version in its plastic glory.

Yes, that red bumper is show-accurate.

Perhaps the only surprise is the red bumper on the vehicle mode, though as Sabrblade pointed out on the forums that is cartoon accurate if not toy accurate.

Wow Sabrblade, that is genuinely some good screenshottery and pre-empting of the usual complaints!
The silver stripes and the red bumper on the cab make this a very weird hybrid of toy and cartoon incarnations. On the plus side, it breaks up the colors in a nice way.

And yet, here we go ...
If Hasbro releases Ultra Magnus (which I'm hoping they will announced at BotCon), then here's hoping for a toy accurate version. I'm not a fan of the red bumper. I get being "cartoon accurate" but sometimes it just doesn't translate well into a toy.

Agreed with bossman Seibertron: if this sucker gets a Hasbro release here in the States, I'd be a happy camper.

There is no size class that any of the other MPs or even the Platinum Editions that Hasbro has released fit into either. Yet that didn't stop them from releasing those.Sideshow Sideswipe wrote:I'm hopeful, but I don't see hasbro releasing a toy of this size. There's no size class that it would fit into. This will end up costing as much as 3 or 4 large MP figures. But I didn't think they would release prowl stateside either, so I hope I'm wrong, but my preorder is staying locked in bbts.

The top rack splits into the arms. The bottom bed becomes the legs and chest and it all folds around the cab. And the head probably pops out of the cab. I don't remember a masterpiece that's transformation was that easy to describe.

I'm okay with it being easy when it's so beautiful and detailed, I'm very curious about the cab though is it just to house the head?

Are we sure it's easy? Or is it more than meets the eye?

It looks to me like the cab turns completely inside-out, as the cab's roof becomes the robot's butt flap hanging down from the backside of the waist.Sideshow Sideswipe wrote:happylock wrote:Wow the color images show this may be the easiest master piece to transform yet.

Im usually all for cartoon accuracy, but tnis is one of those rare instances where it looks like ****. Rather see some nice chrome. Todays a good day not to be an MP collector.
