Apparently acrylic, oil, enamel, and lacquer are all different paints. Who knew.

Didn't try that yet and my paintjobs smudge and collect fingerprints. And my fingertips collect colors

This, a million times this. Lacquer coats are fine on top of lacquer, but nothing else. Acrylic coats are fine on anything (in theory). Also I wouldn't use lacquer on bare, unprimed plastic- the thinner is liable to make the plastic super brittle, as I found to my dismay when I tried giving Deluxe Airachnid a show-accurate purple-hued sheen with Mr. Color Clear Purple.
Generally speaking, putting paint/sealers over each other goes in this order (you can't put something on the top of the list under something beneath it, if that makes sense):
Acrylic
Enamel
Lacquer
Acrylics are the safest to use, and I'd stick to them. I generally use Tamiya as it's an alcohol-based acrylic, meaning that it's generally safe to use over most other stuff but it dries quite fast and quite well.
My honest advice is to go to a Gunpla community for advice. They really know their stuff on painting tiny toy robots.
Super helpful @BlackHat. Really nice having some people on the boards chiming in like this. I really appreciate it!
Were or weren't? Because it sounds like you actually wanted to write weren't.gothsaurus wrote:Getting back on point... Makes me think that if the Dinobots were painted — or molded in translucent plastic — it would really change the look of the toys. Not seeing that gold detail would put them much more in the realm of looking like... oh, say, maybe... a member of Dino Force???

I was talking with Carytheone about this the other day. I didn't even know this was an intended configuration.
Lesson learned? Sometimes it pays to look at the instructions!![]()
Haven't tried it in combined mode yet, but I bet it adds some nice stability.
Your right. It is set too far forward.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Cobotron wrote:Do you mean like this?Albatross250 wrote:Did any of you guys used the Prime Armor as feet?

I like the look but the ankle peg is set too far foward for the super foot mode to look right. I still use it though.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

That's what came up in my mind first when I read the question. But I also confused Prime armor with decoy suitsCobotron wrote:But....
It just dawned on me.
I think this is what Albatross250 really meant.

I don't think that's gonna work so good.
At first look it's awesome and pretty weird. Dinoriders are back or what? #SlagCockpitAddonSjeng wrote:So, perhaps this is news-worthy:

But I think it's nonetheless interesting for the toy line and people interested in it because for example this upgrade kit in particular could change the decision of people if they wanna buy Volcanicus/the Dinobots or not.
And it's meant for the Power of the Primes toy line so I guess it has its place in here
The Autobots and Decepticons use Prime Masters to wield the godlike powers of the most legendary bots in the universe: the Primes.
