It's easy to say it's a store's fault, not Hasbro's, and often that's the case, but when it's a nation-wide issue and the figures are so scarce that even Hasbro themselves can't stock them in their own store, then it's definitely a Hasbro issue. This isn't a case of the unbalanced distribution that we've become used to (the only PotP figures I know I can go out right now and buy are wave 1 PMs while other people are chocking on wave 1 Deluxe), this is a total lack of supply in specific waves that has been plaguing the entire Prime Wars trilogy.

As for the whole thing about releasing figures on a schedule, we already know that can work at Walmart just by looking at every movie line release to date and their scheduled wave 1 street dates. What Walmart could really use is a better point of sale system that does a better job of tracking what's on the shelves and sends that information directly to the warehouse for automatic resupply. I don't know what their current method is, but it doesn't work.

You are forgetting that HTS is not a "Store". Its a liquidation hub. They are selling excess stock produced to fill out a skid/container/whathaveyou. Hasbro is not looking ti sell direct and sbub their biggest customers, the Retailers.

As to getting Walmart to track better, thats going to take a massice shift of their sales mindset from selling bulk toys to selling Transformers. With the eventual total shift to digital ordering and pickup at store, something a little more accurate could be coming, and I could see them applying it to toylines eventually, but thats gotta be low on their priorty, like maybe one step above keeping enough registers open and NOT LOCKING THE ******* DOOR AFTER ME AND MAKING ME DO A MILE AROUND THE PARKING *Ah-hem*

Scotty: your ecample is magnificent and enlightening. But I have to laugh becaude about the time you would have been writing that, my Local Bud rep called and asked if we needed any stock. :lol:

nah mate, we had this same conversation only a few weeks ago!

There is pretty much 0% probability that I'll find him in store given how the last wave or 2 of a line just ... doesn't happen.

You never know. You may just come across it randomy and all the stars will align. Jeez, remind me of TLK Cogman. I was so sure I was never going to find it in stores that I ordered it from China at almost 50$CAN shipped. And now, TLK Cogmans. TLK Cogmans everywhere. I could even get it on sale at TrU yesterday for 20$CAN plus taxes! Sigh...

I too have not enough interests in Primal to order it online. But if (when) I find it in store AND on sale, I will cave in. In the meantime, I'm in no hurry. And if for reasons I never see it in store, it will be too bad but no big deal.

Say what now? I'd love to know what you're basing that off of. They typically get their stock the same time as it shows up in B&M stores and occasionally get stuff before other retailers. They definitely don't sell below MSRP, the only time that happens is during sales and clearance like any other retailer.

Also, HST is a store for Americans only. Their absurd shipping prices make sure of that. The only time it's worth for a Canadian to bother is if he's fast and lucky enough to grab one piece of that Convention Exclusive overstock.

Even on sale I would not be tempted by this figure. I have the original Optimal Optimus, this thing is just a Optimal Optimus shell with a very flexible monkey hanging off it's back.

I guess I've been spoilt with the Prime Wars trilogy. The majority of the figures have been updates of old G1 characters that have been a vast improvement over the original.

This, is not an improvement and is one of the rare cases where it just fails compared to the original (Yes I know it has a different gimmick and isn't a "true update", so if you're one of those who can't help but correct people, don't bother!)

Who's "correcting" who? Opinions are opinions. There's no "right" and no "wrong".

It's true that in a sense, the PotP version is indeed inferior to the original. But only in the mindset that it must be a "MP-ish" update. PotP is not that. It's an hommage to the whole of Primal's Beast Wars History. Only thing missing is a Beast Machine easter egg.

I owned the original but I hated it. The flying detachable parts, the no real vehicle modes, he was not fun for me to handle. The PotP version have no real vehicle mode either, but the whole package and multiple hommages concept is just so weird and ridiculous, it press just the right butons. Sure, I'm not exited enough to go full price, but it do pique my interests. But one who own and love the original who want something "better" (akin to the available 3P offering) will not find what he's looking for with the PotP release. And that's okay. ¯\_ツ_/¯

I ont know if Hasbro is basing Production runs on retailer pre sales (W're going to by X amount") or if its a guesstimate based on sales trends.

Say Hasbro produces 12,500 cases of PotP Delyxe. They get sales for 12,3. 50 cases rnd up arriving damaged, probably some Throttle Jockey in Customs who really loves his Forklift. Hasbro pulls out 10 cases for Customer Service replacements, and a few weeks later, once they know everyrhing made it to their retailers fine and no one is running back for more stoxk, they throw the last 140 cases up on HTS, but they did not order explicitly for that purpose. If the Retailers had ordered an extra 100, they would have only put the last 40 on line. If they underproduced, they wouldnt have had anything for HTS.

Thanks to a heads up from Seibertronians Starrhero and Kanrabat, we have news that Baltmatrix has uploaded his review of Power of the Primes Optimus Primal! This is our first English review of the figure, and Balt takes a detailed look into both Optimus Primal and his Optimus Optimus form. The individual Primal mode to him was pretty good, and the "skateboard" mode just makes him laugh a lot. But overall, Baltmatrix rated the figure a pretty decent one, and the gimmick overall a winner.

So what do you think? Is this fan vote figure the figure you wanted? Is this figure good enough for you to pick up? Let us know what you think in the comments section below! As cheap and lazy as Hasbro has been with these Leader Class figures in this line, I'm kinda glad Deathsaurus didn't win.

Stop blaming it on the character (or serie) choice, it would have been almost as bad for everyone except maybe Star Saber. And even then people would still whine about the parts lacking articulation or the hollow pieces which are universal to all mass retail figures.

That said he's not the worst thing ever. His two robot modes are pretty great.
