But seriously, this is by far my favourite line of yours:In the continued multilateral effort to spoil as much new content as possible

Come on guys, I love you all but I don't know whats the use of fussing over any of this when we know its a mock up. We were pissed last time when hasbro showed a similar non transforming mock up of Trypticon at a closed doors event and now they are actually letting us see the process instead of us hearing it second hand. I think its an excellent step in the right direction and something we all wanted. Like when Takara shows concept art before a toy is out or grey model. So why are we pissing on Hasbro for letting us in on their process and showing us where they are at? They feel they can trust that we wont overreact by seeing something unfinished but the comments I read tell me that maybe they should revert to their old tactic of holding off before showing us stuff. Which I feel would be a loss for us.
We are smarter than this, I don't know why we cant appreciate this look into their process instead.Rated X wrote:Remember back in the G1 days when each boxed figure came with a checklist showing the entire line for the year?
Hasbro should bring back that concept and discard the "teasers" and "reveals" concepts because its a total failure.
I LOVE checklists and I would love if they brought it back. I personally am all in favour of them letting us know what to expect in the next year for budgetting purposes and the like. I dont need to see them all exactly but I would like to know what is to come. Especially in a time when there are multiple versions of characters already and I may be interested in getting an "older" version.
I just like being a knowledgeable consumer is all and checklists are fun.

No because im a paying customer with a wallet full of money. Im not someone who talks from the sidlines. I buy, buy, buy. And buyers are Hasbros real target audience, regardless of age.
You may not be old enough to remember, but I grew up with these:
https://www.google.com/search?q=80s+tra ... 1qZFkjmAaM:
We didnt have teasers or reveals because they prove nothing but stupidity. If anything the cartoons were teasers because we got the toys after seeing (and dying to get) the newest characters. The constant toy leaks every year from the Chinese homeland are proof that the tease and reveal strategy is a total failure. Maybe if Hasbro decided to move their Anerican designed toy operation to America and pay loyal American workers fair American wages, the leaks would cease. (And yes most of the Hasbro design team are now Americans, I been to enough Botcon design team pannels)
But with that being said, I think they should just bring back the checklist. Especially after Hascon fails this week. Other than the owners of fan sites, I dont see many fans on either here or tfw2005 making the pilgrimage to hascon to witness the big reveals that our good friends in China already revealed in style.
They contract factories outside of America because it's cheaper to do so. In fact, I've heard that the factories are technically contracted by Takara, not Hasbro. I don't know if it's true or not, but if it is, then it's all technically Takara's fault, not Hasbro's.
If I'm remembering correctly, the Unicron Trilogy had checklists as well, or at least product catalogs. If my memory isn't faulty, then that means I grew up with checklists as well. I honestly could care less if they came back or not. They're just pieces of paper to me.

Rated X wrote:I know its cheaper than making the figures in America where they are designed. But in the long run, they get what they pay for with all these leaks and even unreleased items for sale early from the honorable factory workers that they pay 50 cents an hour. As far as the checklists go, yeah they are just pieces of paper. But what they symbolize is alot stronger. They symbolize a message of respect for the fans who collect. They say "This is what we got coming so get ready". In the G1 days, dont recall there being "waves" either in which you had wave 3 in hand but had no clue who was in wave 5. If anything, maybe you could call the combiner teams "waves". But they were waves with no stupid secrecy because if you want to know whats coming just look at your checklist. And thats when they were really just toys and nobody was really "collecting" them in the sense that we do today. Now that they are doing homage lines geared towards adult collectors, they should treat us like the adults we are. Not "look at the silhouette and guess whos coming" or "get ready for our reveals at hascon it will be huge". That crap is all stupid. Most people who buy chug figures are adults these days.

To be fair... I think it actually might help casual collectors, and kids (and their parents) to have check lists... to let them know there's more product than just wave (rotting at your local retailer). WE KNOW there's more... little joey may not know it's coming.
I think a check-list with the titan masters would have been fun; especially the single pack ones.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

That's why I said leg and not foot.
Unless Elita-1 has green legs and pink feet now.
