Need to see them coming first. Crocs don't tend to lay around waiting for you to come along and pat them.

Years ago, I ended up with a Generations Thundercracker with an unpainted, blue plastic face. They were still packaging deluxes in alt mode back then, so you couldn't even tell from the package. I only first noticed after opening him up, transforming him, and then putting him on my shelf for display for a few days.

i still have my original Optimal Optimus,
and except for the paint scheme,
i am not really hungering for this...

i never really understood the orange and blue,
but show accuracy has its points.

as to the supposed "evil" colors...
nah.

its just the way Primal would be if given the Matrix
without the spark of OP 1.0 getting mixed in.

A little SDCC update. Through all of the chaos of HTS Dark Monday, I was able to order Throne of the Primes. It was touch and go because of the site freezing, and trying to update my address, etc.

12 hours after placing the order, I got a confirmation email.

By the next morning, the status had changed from received to processed.

And then nothing.

On Thursday I sent customer service an email.

I STILL haven't heard back.

But I called customer service at noon today, with no wait for an operator, only to learn my Throne had been delivered yesterday. A quick trip to the mailroom at my office, and found it waiting for me!

What a rollercoaster!

I'm really excited to put some titan masters in the wheel, and put Nemesis Prime on the throne, with some headless bots strewn about his feet.

I like to think the orange exist as some midway between the funky color scheme of Transmetal (which is a more 'refined' and less eyesore style that directly descend from the Late G1/G2 color schemes) and a more typically Optimus Prime-esque color scheme. This give his Optimal Optimus form elements which come from G1 Optimus while also giving him his own identity. Orange is derived from red and, combined with the maroon of his shoulders, it match the classic Optimus Prime color layout (red torso and shoulders, blue legs) without directly copying it.

Or maybe they were just high as a kite when they designed Optimal Optimus thinking it wouldn't make it into the show only for Hasbro to say it had to? Who the hell knows?

Edit: Do we know who designed the Optimal Optimus toy and what Mainframe Entertainement knew of it's existence when they presumably had to introduce it in season 3? I'm very curious of the how and why of it's existence and inclusion in both the toyline and show.

Damnit! I was planning to do something similar tonight, but I was going to go with the Titan Master heads for Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, and Rodimus Prime in the Scepter of Primes. Going with the "losers" of the fan poll at Optimal Optimus' feet is pretty awesome, I must say. I might still use my original idea put add in the headless bodies of the CW Magnus and PotP Optimus and Rodimus. Does that tickle your fancy, Sabr?

Also, TF-fan kev777, I can see in your picture that you too get that weird "two toned knee" effect, but your dark and light sides seemed to be switched from mine. I wonder if it's a factory level mix up. There might be two similar shades or red that were mapped to the figure for different details, but depending on what was going on when a particular figure was being assembled, the tones might have gotten mixed up here and there, resulting in some inconsistencies like the knees. Or they ran out of a certain red color paint at some point and used something similar but not quite the same to finish off the production run.

The Brickseek website seems to have spotty accuracy. It had the O'Fallon IL Walmart with 17 Deluxes in stock, but I went and only found a lone Jazz(which I already have) in that category. -_-

Since it is red paint on grey plastic, I wonder if it could be the same shade on both parts, but slightly thinner on the one that appears darker because some of the grey is coming through.

I'll probably get Novastar, just because this mold becomes one of the best gestalt arms of all the deluxes.

My plan is for Moonracer to be an arm, Novastar to be a leg, Jazz to be an arm, and Wreck-Gar to be a leg. Depending on my mood, I might swap Jazz and Wreck-Gar. I don't own the mold of Wreck-Gar in any form, so I want to see which one works best.
