Does JAzz look like he has a combiner peg too? If you look under the hood chest in the front views, it looks like there may be one. Also, the back of the car/bottoms of the feet has the hand-foot gun peg hole.....

Sure. But wasn't there some report a while back that POTP was going to be, not a continuation, but like a unifying line for the previous two? We already see that the Titanmaster concept is being carried over, and we've got CW molds in the Wind/Wing team.

I don't know. Just something I saw, and it got me thinking. Time will tell, of course.

I wish they would have gone the Ultra Magnus/PM Prime route, or a giant version of the Titanium figure, where the entire vehicle transforms into the robot mode and nothing has to be attached/detached during transformation. This would have made Rodimus an entirely separate character from Hot Rod as the Hot Rod figure wouldn't have been used at all.

Something like that -- and personally, I love what I see so far. I think it's hecking awesome that we're getting more options to mess around with our previous CW and TR toys -- I personally started getting back into collecting with CW so it's especially great for me




Also... just saying, but I totally called that the Takara Legends Targetmasters weren't a preview of this line's theme

Exactly. It's just Hot Rod with a trailer boost. Not exactly an "evolved" character.

Does anybody else notice that Jazz's vehicle mode kinda looks like Braver, the left leg of the Road Caesar combiner from Transformers Victory? (Also known as the Motorvator Lightspeed to the European G1 fans)

they can merge in jet modes like the old G1 themselves


What bugs me is about their Combiner ports, and how much retooling will it take from it

Jazz's combiner peg is a bit hard to see in bot mode (which, let's face it, is kind of awesome -- it's really nice to for once get a combiner component that doesn't show off its combining). So here's an under-the-table shot from the gallery to make it clear for everyone!

Anyone thinking about Animated Starscream for this mold?

I don't think Jazz looks all that great. Good enough to pick up if it actually shows up locally, maybe, but not to make a special online order if it comes to that. RTS Jazz better, IMO.

Somebody please tell me Jazz and the jets have HFGs or something! Especially the jets, since they're using CW molds and wouldn't look half bad as part of Galvatronus. Please don't make this like Botcon Terrorsaur.

...I just had a thought. Are they maybe using CW-style attachments to connect the Deluxe portions of the Leader-class figures to the "suit" parts, and they want the carded deluxes compatible with that? If this isn't possible or has alreay been guessed, forgive me, but this thread's too big for me to go back and read it all.

Anyhow, barring that, there's no good reason not to give these combiner-compatible deluxes some kind of combiner hand and/or foot piece so they can be easily mixed in with the CW stuff, and I'll be really annoyed if they don't.

Definitely an underwhelming reveal day. Rodimus needed to be a voyager. The armor really kills the figure especially from behind ugly as hell. If they werent gonna go for a cartoon accurate transformation like Ultra Magnus, they should have done the gun platform like the G1 toy. All Jazz has going for him is no wings. But RTS jazz is way better and has a more accurate car mode. Starscream is whatever. Im not in the camp that needs voyager seekers. Im fine with them as deluxes because they are the troops. Not a fan of IDW sculpting either. Skullgrin is lame but maybe pretenders being close to human size makes more sense than what the comics did in the 80s. Dreadwing and Darkwing are pretty cool but since they were never in the cartoon, those jets I would have preferred voyager similar to the way the horrocons are going to be voyager. Its kinda hard to downsize them considering they have had voyager and ultra class figures out for years. But I do like how they look better despite the size. But the real gem of the reveals in my opinion is Beachcomber in my opinion. They knocked it out the park with him. Hopefully they give us an outback repaint of brawn and consider making a huffer/pipes that isnt a repaint of a legends prime and sports his signature hood. Also where are the Dinobots?

TFormers is reporting that Starscream has combiner ports, which is why the forearms are so huge.

Prime Master compatible and Combiner Wars Compatible?
Aside from that, we need the Takara Blastoff mold (The shuttle) be released as a part of PoTP!

Any word as to whether or not dreadwind & darkwing will combinable for dreadwing?
