I dont think so since you could also ask for any of the other technobots (barring the motorcycle) since they all had differences. The computrons were completely different versions as opposed to combiners with just 1 of the members being different.

Plus, either company probably considers its version of Computron done, since no members were switched out (Hasbro did come close to that with downsizing Afterburner and introducing Ironclad).

One can always hope for a Hasbro release of the UW Computicon toolings though.

I'm gonna keep using the jet Blast Off purely for the sake of being contrary.

Then again, him plus Brake-Neck plus the Dreadwing duo is four spare Decepticons, meaning limbs free for Galvatronus or Megascream to use.

I see. so only some Perfect Effect Parts or somewhat upgrades to Computicon (his Japanese name is better i think) and the rest of the Technobots. Thanks! :D

Hey Lunatic Prime-- I didn't vote for Optimal either, but I'm now looking forward to his new figure most, since it includes multiple incarnations (I only own Optimal!). And I like the evolution gimmick. ;)

I voted for Star Saber (since I don't own any version of him yet) and Arcee (I would have loved to see what they had planned -- it probably would've been similar to Elita-1).

Deathsaurus and a new Thunderwing would be really cool as well -- I'm hoping for more 'Cons!

It works for TR Metalhawk since he's based on the inner robot and not the shell like BotCon 2012 Metalhawk is. Skullgrin, see last part of previous comment :-P

In addition to finding the Prime Masters today, I also finished off Wave 1 of Power of the Primes by picking up Voyager Starscream. I'll now give a few thoughts on the Prime Masters as a whole and on Starscream.

First, the Prime Masters. They're pretty much exactly what I expected, no more, no less. They're fun little accessories and a nice nod to one of the stranger gimmicks of G1. I do wish that the inner robots, the "Prime Masters" proper, looked a bit more like the inner robots that go with the Pretender shells these are based on from G1. For the most part, they're just pretty generic robots that do a downward dog pose and turn into a power up gem for other figures. I'm planning on collecting the whole set, just as I did with the Titan Master size class from Titans Return. They do make good accessories when paired up with the right figures, as you can see from my picture above. Poor Cloudburst/Micronus needs a big buddy, though. I'm not sure what to do with him yet.

As for Starscream, when I saw him in person, I decided to go ahead a buy him. His proportions weren't as bad as the photos on line had made him seem, but they're still pretty off. It's a shame because, I do kind of like the design of his robot mode. A few small changes to the mold would have made it so much better, like a bigger head, taking those sliding panels off the sides of the forearms, and shrinking down the lower legs just a bit. As it is, he's kind of got "Mega Man" proportions, but with a pin head. The extra panels on the forearms are pretty useless too. They don't really add much stability to the torso mode (more on that later) and they don't provide enough clearance for the null rays either. Yellow paint on the faux cockpit would have looked nice too. I've got another paint application tip for Hasbro too: Starscream's face is dark gray, not silver. Oh, and of course, painted/stickered detail to the wings in robot mode would have made a world of difference. If they didn't want to use more plastic and make the undersides of the wings filled in instead of hollowed out, so they could have painted the wing stripes on or used another set of stickers, Hasbro/Takara could have at least engineered the transformation such that the wings flip around to show off the top side jet mode detail facing forward in robot mode.

The wing stickers on mine are pretty great, though. They're all on straight and there isn't any sign of curling at the edges. The other stickers on the robot mode are a different story. They're obviously not made to fit with the sculpted detail. You can very plainly see the ridge lines of Starscream's intakes under those G1-inspired stickers. The stickers on the feet are a little awkward too, not quite hiding the molded detail on the top of the feet. I really wonder if this switch to stickers was very last minute with Hasbro. If they're going forward with stickers for the foreseeable future, they should really plan the molds around them first, not create them as an obvious afterthought.

The jet mode actually looks pretty good...from the top. From the side, that robot mode isn't hidden very well at all. They could have at least found a better way to hide the feet hanging off the back. The underside is a wash. Almost no Transformers jet doesn't look like a squished up robot underneath the wings and fuselage, so I'm not faulting PotP Starscream there. Also, why didn't they do a better job with the front landing gear? It's ridiculous that it comes out of the nose of the plane. If they had reverse the position of the joint and strut, it would have worked fine. Heck, they had room to move the whole assembly as is further back. Alternate mode, as many other people have already said, is easily the weakest mode.

The strongest mode is definitely torso mode, though it's not without it's flaws. The transformation is involved and interesting, while still being familiar from what we've seen during Combiner Wars. I think the problem of the legs not lining up on their ratchets is back, though. I can't seem to get Starscream's thighs to sit perfectly straight and parallel with each other. Other parts of the torso are kind of fiddly too, necessitating that everything by turned and set just right for everything to snap in and line up properly. Even then, a lot of steps remain fiddly, like getting the combiner head assembly to sit in the top of the cockpit snugly, or getting the top of the jet intakes to tab into the chest. Still, I look forward to rounding up some worthy Decepticon combiner limbs to complete "Megascream."

Overall, Power of the Primes Starscream is better than I expected, but nowhere near as good as I would like. He will NOT be replacing my Transformers United Seeker Aces Starscream on my "Classics/Neo-G1" shelf. I'll continue to wait for a truly great Voyager class seeker mold.

I'm looking forward to him, too. I have Ultra class Optimus Primal (the first version) and Optimal Optimus. The latter will be redundant as soon as I get the new one, I guess, but not the normal Primal because the new one's small figure transforms into a cargo spaceship instead of a gorilla. So my Ultra class Primal is in between them.

It was something talked about in a Club story, the one with Bluestreak. It referenced some CW stuff in the story, such as Computron using Scrounge and Boltax AKA Cybaxx to gain even more intelligence, another combiner made from Inferno and 4 more Autobot cars, and reference was made to Computron actually having a different team member in Ironclad, with AFterburner being a Groove retool to act as a weapon or something. "Energy efficient" was how they worded it

Ok, so barring Jazz, all these guys came yesterday, and I have some thoughts on the PotP figures.

Image

I want to start with Starscream. I absolutely adore this guy. The robot mode to me is the best part, and I love the proportions on him. It's funny, it's hilarious, he's on the computer desk glaring at me while I type this. It is fun, and I like how the proportions are so inflated. It sort of has an Animated vibe to it, and I loved that show and those designs. I like having his feet as giant shoulder pads with the rifles sticking out. It's fun! And he feels inflated in a good way, pleasing to hold. jet mode isn't that good, but I wasn't expecting much, and combined mode is fun. Sometime soon, I will combine him again and have the legs assume arm mode, so I can give him chicken legs like his movie self.

Overall, I am very pleased with Starscream. I like him.

Grimlock is next: great figure overall. fun robot mode, fun dino mode, and the combiner mode is boss. I am especially liking his combiner head, it's sweet. I don't have an issue with him combining, he feels good, looks good, and I am happy minus the sword thing, but I have that taken care of.

Dreadwind is a nice aerialbot retool, and I am liking him. One thing I will say is I'm not too big a fan of moving the wings to the legs for the combined modes, it removes the sleekness some. But overall, good, and I want Blackwing so I can combine them.

Swoop is everything I wished for. the only complaint here is that his ankles are somewhat loose, but other than that, fantastic.

Slug: pretty good. I wish the dino mode was bigger, but he's still good.

And now with that Blastoff looking more and more likely, I will get him, and use Dreadwing, Blackwing, my spare 3 wheeled from a flea market Dragstrip, and most likely Starscream to make a new combiner.

EDIT: I have one major complaint about the new combining system: the feet. I have had issues with Victorion's feet since I got her, and I cannot have the cars as legs, otherwise the ankles will not work and she falls right over, and that same thing is happening here. The ankle tilt takes away just a bit too much stability for some guys to work as legs. my Swoop topples the combiner form thanks to the ankle give on his own mold and that of the foot piece. Same thing happens with Dreadwind, and with Jazz to a lesser extent. I would have preferred the CW HFG approach than the new ankle tilt feet, my combiners are gonna suffer in the standing department

:HASBRO: would have given her a Leader class because the Voyagers are not Primes. And maybe she would have gotten something totally new what would have been awesome (probably) or just a retool of Evolution Rodimus Prime.

In Combiner Wars? :???:

It was something talked about in a Club story, the one with Bluestreak. It referenced some CW stuff in the story, such as Computron using Scrounge and Boltax AKA Cybaxx to gain even more intelligence, another combiner made from Inferno and 4 more Autobot cars, and reference was made to Computron actually having a different team member in Ironclad, with AFterburner being a Groove retool to act as a weapon or something. "Energy efficient" was how they worded it

So that was just in a comic?!

Yes, Abominus torso is looking good! I like this sneak peak at Elita-1 as well.

I meant to pick-up TLK Infernocus just because I liked the individual little figures and their colors -- but prioritized hunting TR and PotP figures, I guess. I'd buy Cogman in a heartbeat, though.

My Galvatron is 3p -- DX9's Tyrant! He actually came with two cannons, and one of them has sparkly flakes in it to give it that G1 look. I'm hoping there's an Evolution Megatron planned for PotP...but I won't hold my breath.

Its a shame the Elita One combines to form herself but bigger. That was stupid enough with Starscream. Renderform, get on this. Give us an original character female combiner head. Something like Victorion but more G1ish.

I kind of hope that they release the UW of ALL (or none) of the Technobots. If I'm honest, though, I prefer the CW version of Strafe and Afterburner. I prefer the UW versions of all the others, though!

Plus, if they re-do all the Technobots, they can have the Prime Master hands and then match the Terrorcons. Very much my style.

He was in the fan vote but didn't make it. There were some really contenders in the vote and I'd like to see some realized in the future waves. I mean the Leader class figures anounced so far are the only Matrix bearers there have been so far (in toy form...from HASBRO).
I didn't vote for Primal because I didn't think about Optimal Optimus but now that we'll get a new one I don't mind. But an Evolution Megatron Prime would be pretty cool. As well as some of the others like Star Saber, Dezarus/Deathsaurus whatever and Thunderwing (who I voted for). And all the empty space in TR Sky Shadow's chest definitely hints at that they already had an Evolution Thunderwingus Prime in mind when they designed him.
Arcee and Hound are also pretty interesting to me but I could them being just cheap retools of Evolution Rodimus Prime.

I hope it was like this. Both G1 and G2 alike :APPLAUSE:

That design is freakin' RAD! Definitely would rather see it go to Galvatron, though. Plus, we could then have a Leader class Galvatron to counter Leader Rodimus.

So much potential perfect on the horizon!

hah! Like I said, I voted for Arcee because (1) she's awesome and (2) I would have loved to see her as a Prime -- but I honestly wonder if she would have gotten the same evolution treatment as Primal & the G1 Primes....they would've had to design something all-new (that could've been amazing) -- or make her a combiner. Even though she's also been a Combiner Hunter. ;p

A Leader class Arcee would have been great. Give her a "50s bubble caravan" trailer thingy (to go with Rodimus' space Winnebago mode) for her vehicle mode. As for the "evolved" robot mode...Hmm. Over on the 4chan Transformers thread we had a very silly idea for a "cute/hot mom" super mode (EXTRA T H I C C) which someone did a pretty decent sketch of, though annoyingly I can't find it now.

Hmmm. I sense a custom idea brewing. Maybe when I've got missile tank Megatron and CW Starscream done...

Lunatic Prime: I could've gone for a retooled Evol Roddy for Arcee Prime. I really like the Hot Rod we got with Rodimus, too -- he looks more dignified than I'd like, but cool. :rodimusstar:

Rated X: I could totally go for an original female combiner head! It works for Megascream, but a new head for Elita-1 would've been my preference as well.

My imagination is pretty limited so considering the current "was always going get" leaders, I'd guess if any other of the Autobots would have been chosen we'd got some sort of space winnebago.

I hope there is at least some concept art for all the potential primes that we get to see st some point.

I don't mind it with Starscream because his ego overrides logic. It doesn't really go with the established fiction that a bot would combine into a larger version of themself.

So, now that cards have been catalogued online for all 12 Primes and the released wave 1 PotP figures.

http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Prime_Master/Combinations

Has there been any news as to what the last 3 symbols are on the early promo art (totaling 15) are for? Being that the 13th Prime in Fiction is Optimus, it may be a little convoluted to have him as an actual character in PotP, and as a Prime Master, but never under estimate Hasbro's ability to sell an Optimus Toy ;) . Also There's been speculation the others could be Primus and Unicron, but nothing concrete...any thoughts are appreciated.

Well we all knew this was probably coming, still lame though. I was wanting, at the very least, Hydra and Buster released by :TAKARATOMY: in Masterforce colours, names. Have to admit though that now having PotP Jazz, Beachcomber and Windcharger in hand, they are nice. Not sure if this brand global thing is going to up the paint game of :HASBRO: or just stop having the awesome decos from :TAKARATOMY: . Like I said if Jazz is any indication, I am pretty happy. Only big problems I have with him is lack of paint on his rims and taillights. Besides those two shortcomings, Jazz, Beachcomber and Windcharger all could have been :TAKARATOMY: Legends releases I think, quality/paint wise.
