Both the original toy and cartoon had orange cockpits with clear windows. The silver cockpit with blue window isn't accurate to anything.

You're only looking at the canopy/window and ignoring the whole cockpit itself. That's what's colored wrong on the new toy. The canopy/window itself is just fine.Wolfman Jake wrote:Looks blue-tinted at the very least in those pics you posted, Sabr.

Not the interior, the exterior. The part that forms his torso's collar.Wolfman Jake wrote:Sabrblade wrote:You're only looking at the canopy/window and ignoring the whole cockpit itself. The orange interior for the cockpit would just have never worked with this figure, though.
The whole Optimus Primal component is already a weird mishmash of colors be being half solid gray in the front (plus stickers) and half multicolored black/white/red/gray/silver in the back. Adding orange to the front would have looked no worse than the mess of colors the thing already is.Wolfman Jake wrote:That part is formed from the Optimus Primal component, and putting that orange in there would clash with the rest of the color scheme of that individual figure.

It's supposed to be an eye-searing deco. It was the epitome of "90s Radical Extreme-ness"!Wolfman Jake wrote:Making the front of the transport mode orange would be very unpleasant to most peoples' eyes.
No it doesn't, it just add even more gray to the torso.Wolfman Jake wrote:If you want to mitigate the upper chest of the Optimal Optimus robot mode being gray instead of orange, you can just leave the "clavicle guns" deployed, which will hide most of that fact.

Almost as useless as complaining about an argument you have no stake in anyway?
These kinds of discussions about figure design choices are perfectly reasonable and on topic. Not every discussion is going to interest everyone. A lot of people feel strongly about the color of Optimal Optimus' chest. I too think it's a non-issue, but I'd rather talk about my reasoning than dismiss the other side out of hand as being "irrelevant."

It's dulling down and uniforming what was supposed to be pure chaotic insanity of colorization in the first place.
It's like if one tried to have Evel Knievel teach a serious, no-nonsense class on traffic safety.

It's there. You quoted it.
I just elaborated on it with more specific words.
