It reminds me of when classics first launched, what the goal was, to update the characters for the 21st century, keeping them recognisable.

Not a fan of the Universe mold? It's the best CHUG interpretation we'll probably ever get.

That mold is dull ugly trash too. Looks like one of those cruddy KO toys found in cheap stores.
Try the JP versions of those molds. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay different. I guarantee it!

I can understand someone not liking the mold (it is quite a departure from Inferno's usual look) but calling it on par with a KO is just silly. I'd argue with the partscount, paint apps and general care put into the figure it's less KOish than a lot of modern figures. Sure it's not MP-standards but it's still a good figure.

I think Universe Inferno looks awesome! Probably the most realistic firetruck we ever had. His robot mode looks good too. I don't see any flaws with it so I guess that the only issue would be maybe the plastic? I have never handled one so I can't say if the plastic feels thin/cheap or not.
I am actually thinking of tracking down one for myself. If anyone does own Inferno can you tell me what the plastic quality is like?

Plastic quality is standard and the clear parts aren't structural so he's pretty solid. Plus he doesn't have massive open gaps in his arms and legs. He also has a pretty fun transformation. Plus, to Hasbro's credit, Grapple has a bunch of new molded parts in his arms, hands, feet, various panels, the crane, and of course the head. Sure, a ladder on Inferno would have looked better in truck mode, but it's obvious in bot mode why they couldn't.

The basic blue print that Takara invested in them years ago. When hollow was the exception and not the norm. When paint apps rarely melted off. When box packaging were sturdier stuff,

Times change as does the economy, though I don't understand what your point has to do with Carni possibly not liking how the mold looks (proportions, shape, not looking like G1 inferno)

I managed to find that Grapple last month in a little Geek shop and am super happy with him, he's lots of fun.
but I'm also glad I will have Inferno in a different mold than Grapple, make him a bit more unique. And he looks very IDW with that robot mode, so I'm fine with it. He may even get a team and combine some, but I'm not sure yet. I could give him Lost Lightatron's limbs, or the autobot limbs from the line and keep Elita her own person (and she is really good to me as her own person, she looks good with PotP Prime, TR Laser Prime, and Alpha Trion).
But I swear, if I find Inferno before the wave 2 deluxes or prime masters, I will celebrate and flip the flip out.

I've found Inferno at 2 Wal-Marts today, but I've yet to see wave 2 of the prime masters. Its frustrating and confusing.

I look forward to finding Inferno in stores only because that means I might actually find Grimlock, too. I've seen a whole two of them in stores since the line launched and the online prices are so stupid high.

There is no longer a slot for the leg tab to slide through before it locks in for alt mode. You know have to bend the plastic out and over to get the tab in the hole.

Is Inferno being shipped with Grimlock? I just found 3 each of Grimlock and Inferno. Dated 80941 and 80951. I assume from the same cases.

Running Change for Transformers Power of the Primes Jazz Confirmed with MAGA Removed
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
Adam Pawlus, from Entertainment Earth has posted on twitter that Transformers Power of the Primes Jazz has a running change. Some Jazz figures coming out will no longer have MAGA written in Cybertronian letters. Instead, as can be seen in the photo below, also linked on Twitter, that part has simply been blackend to remove the writing. It will be hard for anyone to see this in the package and we by no means encourage tampering in the store to find out. This will probably be seen on the Jazz figures coming out in Wave 3 of Power of the Primes.

An easy fix it seems though I wonder if they ever dealt with it internally. Though let's keep the toys away from politics. The designer can do that on their own time.

Worth repeating. If you see a Jazz among the Terrorcons, it's likely the running change.
