I found Inferno at Walmart this weekend! He's a pretty nice repaint, all told, but he won't replace my Henkei Inferno on my Classics shelf. No, he will be primarily the torso of the might "Firestormer!" His "official" team is still to be determined, but for now, I've got him configured with Alpha Bravo, Rook, Smokescreen, and Jazz. Looks pretty good to me.

I think Inferno would look best with white arms (Wheeljack, Groove, Rook, Jazz or a Botcon Ratchet) and red legs (Ironhide and Novastar).

Wheeljack and Ratchet belong to Sky Reign/Lynx Master and Groove is always going to be a part of Defensor. Alpha Bravo, Rook, Smokescreen, and Jazz were the only Autobots I have that aren't already being used by another combiner team. I know originally that the first three were associated with some Combiner Wars teams, but I'm using the Unite Warriors configurations, so Takara's use of Slingshot, Groove, and Ratchet freed up these "Hasbro exclusives" for use here.

I don't think colors matter so much on combiners anyway. With the exception of teams that have a unified color scheme, like the Constructicons, the Predacons, or the Torchbearers, most of them are pretty "Voltron" like in that regard, making each member a unique color primarily to help them stand out. To me, the sillhouette matters more, which is why I put the THICC boys down there as legs and configured the arms to have a similar shape and soulder profile to one another.

I'd like to be able to do that for Firestormer too. In fact, I'm kind of counting Alpha Bravo as a "rescue helicopter," a la movieverse Evac with his orange, blue, and white "Coast Guard" color scheme, which matches Alpha Bravo's color scheme quite well, actually. If Blades can get away with having missile pods and still be considered a rescue vehicle, so can Alpha Bravo!

With Rook being a police SWAT vehicle, that's two down. I could swap Smokescreen onto Sky Reign/Lynx Master and free up Ratchet for a third. That just leaves one more. Maybe if we ever get Hoist from CW/UW Trailbreaker, that could complete the team. I'd consider a tow truck a rescue vehicle, even if it only rescues other vehicles.

(Also double as unnamed Rescue Force 1 and 2)
CW Mirage (RF3,flip rear spoiler up and use HFG in hole for the mounted launcher)

Blades

Even if you use the small Legends Groove, you still have 2 full sets of Limbs for Hot Spot and Inferno

HA! What a bunch of great ideas above. The ratchet limbs = excellent.

And man... I feel like Hasbro really should have better jumped onto the bandwagon with the extra team members in addition to the original 5.

The Kabaya set mentioned above with the drill and VTOL plan additions to Defensor is such a cool concept. I love mixing and matching, and having some INTENDED official extra members really jump starts the imagination.

Again, that's one huge reason I miss the club and botcon. They really worked to fill in the cracks with stories, comics, prose, bios. I feel like we are missing out on a lot of history, stories, lore, background for the past few years... not to mention some artwork/battle scenes. I

I'm going with all new characters myself to round out some teams. No matter what, I'll be left with some extra torsos and limbs that will just end up being individual figures or sit in a bin unused.

I have both Computrons and the G2 Superion Menasor and Bruticus sets. My Comutron is mostly Takara with Hasbro Afterburner (I like the orange) and the Hasbro feet and hands.

My plan is to use the remaining computron and G2 bits to round out the rest of the combiners.

I already have Megascream mostly figured out. Both jet Blast Offs will go with Blackwing and Dreadwind. I'll use Takeoff and Crash Landing as their names.

Still figuring out how I want to handle Elita 1 and Inferno, but I'm waiting to get Inferno, Wreck Gar Novastar and Counterpunch in hand so I can see what looks best color-wise.

Then I'll see who is left and mix and match to create a few more. I'm pretty sure I'll pair up G2 Onslaught with the most obnoxious colored decepticons left (G2 Swindle and Breakdown for sure) and call him Eyesore.

No, I agree, I was more lookong for names I could put to figures, but the Nosecone toy especially doesnt match either re-use. I am kinda the opposite though, in that I would rather tie them to established names than make it up off the cuff.

Well.. Its less about rescue and more about color coordination. There is a serious lack of random limbs, started in combined wars and followed through potp.
Also, Inferno's box shows him combined with slag, so..

I think it's just the lighting or the camera's focus. My Wave 1 Jazz's paint apps are extremely crisp, as much so as the "new" one on the right in that photo.

I gotta hand it to the person who took notice of MAGA in Jazz. At that size of the font, he/she actually took the time to decode it? With a Loope? Sure decoding Alana in Seaspray was amazing, and it was molded in but MAGA?

Do you guys use a loupe to check all your figure's details?

Come to think of it, has there been a spike in demand for Jazz ver.1 with MAGA?

I wonder why there's no update yet on the JP version of Jazz? Did the JP version also sport this running change?
